Roy Joseph Turnbough
Funeral service for Roy Joseph Turnbough was Nov. 30 at the Britton Bros. Funeral Home in the Britton Chapel in Steelville with Rev. Gene Thrasher officiating.
Interment was in Davisville Cemetery.
Mr. Turnbough was born March 26, 1921 at Davisville to Emery and Litha (Martin) Turnbough. He married Helen Harris Dec. 20, 1941. They were the parents of three sons and one daughter. He died Nov. 27, 2004 at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 1 day.
Survivors include his wife Helen Turnbough, Steelville; three sons, Joe Turnbough and wife, Betty, Cherryville; Jerry Turnbough and wife, Teal, Cuba; and Ronnie Turnbough, Steelville; one daughter, Vickey Gilliam and husband Bill, Steelville; two brothers, Lawrence Turnbough and wife, Bonnie; Ellis Turnbough and wife, Dawn all of Davisville; three sisters, Bonnie Welker and husband, Dale, Potosi; Dorothy Pierce, St. Louis; and Rosalene Turnbough, Davisville; 14 grandchildren, Tammie Nix, Keith Turnbough, Shannon Bass, Doug Nix, Josh Nix, Travis Nix, Sherry Wilson, Jerry Turnbough, Terry Turnbough, Mike Turnbough, Tyler Turnbough, Allyson Turnbough, Lisa Weber, and Tina Turnbough; 12 great-grand-children, one great-great-grandson, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Richard Turnbough and Troy Turnbough; one sister Geraldine Turnbough; brothers-in-law, Jake Turnbough, Leahman Pierce, Hershell Harris, and Gene Carey; and one great-great-grandson, Brandon Wilson.
Brenda Joyce Thompson
Memorial service for Brenda Joyce Thompson was July 24, ,2005 at Hillside Presbyterian Church in House Springs.
Ms. Thompson was born Aug. 12, 1942 in Salem to Jess Willard Thompson and Eunice (Sullivan) Thompson. She died July 20, 2005 at St. Anthonys de Grauff Hospice in St. Louis.
Survivors include her son, Tim and wife, Mary Ann, Cedar Hill; four grandchildren, Mandy Larios and husband, Steve; Katie, Karie and Kacie Thompson; two sisters, Helen Breedlove and Wanda McGowan; three brothers, Bill, Gary and Danny; several nieces and nephews, all of the St. Louis area.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Teddie Lynn Jordan
Funeral service for Teddie Lynn Jordan was July 26, 2005 at the Crossville Church in Bunker with Rev. Clay Harper officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bradford Funeral Homes of Summersville.
Interment was in Crossville Cemetery in Bunker.
Mr. Jordan was born Dec. 19, 1968 in Rolla to Wanda Sue Noels Wisdom. He died July 22, 2005 at the age of 36 years.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda Sue Wisdom and husband, Rondall, Bunker; his brother, Eddie Jordan and wife, Suzie, Summersville; his sister, Wendy Santhuff, Centerville; his brother, Bryan Wisdom and wife, Melanie, Salem; his grandfather, Edgar Noles, Bunker; and his grandmother, Louise Noles, Lebanon; his aunt, Linda Richardson, Tennessee state; nieces and nephews, and one great nephew, and his friends.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Jeffrey Jordan; and a brother-in-law, Larry Santhuff.
Mr. Jordan attended school in Bunker. He lived in the Summersville / Eminence area for the last two and a half years where he worked in the logging woods as a logcutter.
James (Jim) Jackson Ficker
Funeral service for James (Jim) Jackson Ficker was July 23, 2005 at the Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence with Lloyd Welch officiating.
Interment was in the New Eminence Cemetery.
Mr. Ficker was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Eminence to Clarence and Mabel (George) Ficker. He married Ruby Maxine Dreasler in Salem on Jan. 30, 1954. Mr. Ficker died July 20, 2005 at the home at the age of 75 years, eight months and 22 days.
Survivors include one son, Jack Ficker and wife, Mary, Jadwin; one daughter Mackie Mitchell and husband, Jim, St. Louis; brother Richard Ficker and wife, Phyllis, Granite City, Ill.; brother William Shastie; sister, Bobbie Barnes, Granite City, Ill.; Betty Evling, Juanita Calve, Francis Hudson and Norma Jean Dain; and five grandchildren, Emily Ficker and Gregory Ficker; and special friend, Annette “Nettie” Louise Walker; sister-in-laws, Lucille Jaster, Deloris Pierce, Connie Holland and husband, Dane, all of Eminence; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Maxine Ficker; his father, Clarence and step-mother, Virginia; his mother, Mabel; one brother, Edward Ficker; his father-in-law, James Dreasler and mother-in-law, Ethel Dreasler; two brother-in-laws, Robert Jaster and Richard Pierce.
Mr. Ficker graduated from Eminence High School. He then joined the the army 502 infantry; 101st Airborne division. After the military, he worked for American Car and Foundry in Madison, Ill. then went on to work for Granite City Steel in Granite City, Ill., Cold Storage in St. Louis, Reary’s Service Station in Eminence, Spurgin Construction in Eminence, Commonisary for Bales Boating in Eminence and purchased the Dairy Isle in Eminence.
Mr. Ficker was a member of the VFW and the Christian Church.
Everett Lee Shepherd
Funeral service for Everett Lee Shepherd was July 21, 2005 at James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem with Lyndell Decker officiating with a poem read by Della Hayes.
Music was provided by taped selections.
Interment was in North Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Brachold, Eddie Shepherd, Mike Shepherd, Stan South, Adriel Shepherd and Nathan Wright.
Mr. Shepherd was born May 28, 1930 in Centerville to Willie and Eva (Hassell) Shepherd. He died July 18, 2005 at the age of 75 years, one month and 21 days.
Survivors include his mother, Eva Shepherd, Salem; one son, Ernie Lee Shepherd, Pennsylvania state; five step-children, William Flowers and wife, Mary, Farmington; Jack Sell, Illinois state; Cathy Ball and husband, Willie, Desoto; Lisa Law, Illinois state; Zelda Sell, Fulton; three brothers, Earnest Shepherd, Salem; William (Shep) Shepherd and wife, Mary, Salem; Jerry Shepherd and wife, Kathy, Linn; one sister, Della Hayes, St. Peters.
Preceding him in death were his father; his wife, Mary Shepherd; one son, Melvin Paul Shepherd; one brother, Richard Shepherd; and one grandson, Jonathan Shepherd.
Alma A. McCarter
Funeral service for Alma A. McCarter was July 22, 2005 at James and Gahr Mortuary with Kenny Fiebelman officiating.
Music was provided by CD’s.
Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve McCarter, Kevin McCarter, Alfred Michael, Al Gowen, John Gills and Rick McCarter.
Mrs. McCarter was born Nov. 26, 1910 to Jack and Lillian Wilkins. She was the mother of two sons. Mrs. McCarter died July 20, 2005 at the age of 94 years, seven months and 24 days.
Survivors include her son, Ervin McCarter and wife, Jean, Dittmer; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one son, Leo McCarter.
Glenda F. Rider
Funeral service for Glenda F. Rider will be at 11 a.m., today (Thurs.) at James and Gahr Mortuary.
Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Rider died July 25, 2005 at the age of 59 years.
Survivors include her husband, Neil Rider, Salem; mother, Virginia Nivens, Salem; one son, Glen Rider, Iowa state; one granddaughter, Miranda Rider; two step-granddaughters, Dusty and Jessica; and four great-grandchildren.
