Funeral service for Mabel Kathleen Broyles of Smithton and formerly of Salem, will be at 10 a.m. June 30, 2007 at Heckart/ Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Rev. Cale Magruder and Rev. Ed Broyles officiating.
Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem.
Pallbearers will be Forrest Allen, Gene Anderson, Paul Anderson, Bill Jobe, Rob Jobe and Duane Schroder.
Mrs. Broyles was born April 30, 1922 in Greenville to William C. and Eliza (Smith) Banks. She married Edward F. Broyles August 20, 1938. Mrs. Broyles died June 27, 2007 at the age of 85 years.
Survivors include her son, Edward F. Broyles Jr. and wife, Paulena, Smithton; two granddaughters, Sarah E. Rea and Jennifer J. Peacock; two step grandchildren, Paula DeBates and Duane Frerking; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Bernice Banks; and three brothers, Dana, Russell and Ivan.
Mrs. Broyles will lie in state 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 29, 2007 at Heckart/ Gillespie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Broyles was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Gary Gene Johns Jr.
Funeral service for Gary Gene Johns Jr. will be at 1 p.m. June 30, 2007 at James & Gahr Mortuary Chapel, Salem.
Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Johns died June 28, 2007 at the age of 22 years.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Donedia Johns, Salem; sister, Melody Judd, Salem; niece and nephew, Nicole and Nathan Judd, Salem; grandmother, Stella Conaway, Salem; and a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
Mr. Johns will lie in state 6 to 8 p.m. June 29, 2007 at James & Gahr Mortuary Chapel.

Carolynne Marie Lada
Funeral service for Carolynne Marie Lada will be at 2 p.m. July 1, 2007 at Boss Assembly of God Church, Boss. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Interment will be in the Boss Cemetery.
Mrs. Lada died June 28, 2007 in Viburnum at the age of 75 years.
Survivors include her husband, Albert S. Lada, Viburnum; four children, Sherry BeAndrews, Viburnum; Melinda White and husband, Keith, Kansas City; Keith Lada and wife, Beverly, Viburnum; and Michelle Hill and husband, Robert, Edgehill; eight grandchildren, Kaylee Oleksy and husband, Shaun, Independence; Krista BeAndrews, Viburnum; Chelsea Hill, Edgehill; Sara Lada, Viburnum; Emily Lada, Viburnum; Matthew Hill, Edgehill; Kendrick White, Kansas City; and Rachel Lada, Viburnum; two great-grandchildren.

Karen S. Curtis
Funeral service for Karen S. Curtis was June 26, 2007 at Dent County Memorial Chapel, Salem, with Robert Curtis officiating.
Music was provided by recorded selections.
Interment was in the Round Pond Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy McNeill, Bill Bushman, Ed Radousky, Dan Schmit, Tim Johnson, Brad Hudson and Dusten Church. Honorary pallbearers were Logan Flynn and Rana Delaone.
Mrs. Curtis was born October 26, 1944 in St. Louis to Eldon and Julie (Tinsley) Putman. She married Robert “Bob” David Curtis April 6, 1974. She was the mother of nine children. Mrs. Curtis died June 22, 2007 in Salem at the age of 62 years, seven months and 26 days.
Survivors include her husband, Bob, Salem; children, Sheryl Lynn Hendrickson, Warsaw, Ind.; Judith Gail Holt, Electra, Texas; Robert W. Curtis and wife, Linda, Sweetser, Ind.; Hiawatha Kay Myers, Salem; David E. Curtis, Portland, Ind.; Lora S. Oswalt, Toledo, Ohio; Archie “Sam” Flynn, Salem; Stacy Ann Cavinder and friend, Paul Mesey, Salem; Sabrina Lynn Curtis, Portland, Ind.; one brother-in-law, Dudley Johns, Salem; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one nephew, Robert Johns and wife, Joyce, Moberly; one great-niece and nephew, Sarah and Kyle Johns.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Archie Flynn; two grandsons, Tommy Holt and Travis Myers; and three sisters, Mary and Alma Putman and Leona Johns.
Terri Belinda (Britton) Templeton
Memorial service for Terri Belinda (Britton) Templeton was June 26, 2007 at Gentry Family Chapel, Yadkinville, N.C., with Rev. Dennis Bell.
Ms. Templeton was born October 19, 1965 in Chester, S.C., to Robert Britton of Salem and Barbara Ann (Keziah) Britton of Yadkinville, N.C. Ms. Templeton died June 24, 2007 at the age of 41 years.
Survivors include her sons, Rusty Shawn Welborn; and Joseph Templeton, both of Boonville; her parents; her brothers, Brian Britton and wife, Carolyn; Jamey Britton and wife, Jennifer; sister, Tracey Britton and fiance, Wayne Wood; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Templeton; and one son, Matthew Templeton.
Ms. Templeton attended West Yadkin Baptist Church.
Michael E. Asher
Graveside service for Michael E. Asher will be at 11 a.m. July 30, 2007 at The Clark Cemetery, Midridge (Bunker). The arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Mr. Asher died July 26, 2007 at the age of 54 years.
Survivors include his sisters, Melinda Dreisewerd and husband, Bryan, Salem; Mary Asher, St. Louis; Joyce Skaggs and husband, Tom, Cedar Hill; and Glenda Crowe, Park Hills; brother, Raymond Asher, Dittmer; and a host of nieces; nephews; extended family; and friends.
William Bruce Gorman
Funeral service for William Bruce Gorman will be at 12 noon July 28, 2007 at Dent County Memorial Chapel, Salem.
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
Mr. Gorman died July 26, 2007 at the age of 66 years.
Survivors include his son, Timmy Wayne Gorman and wife, Ursula, Rogersville; stepdaughter, Debbie Warren, Springfield; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Shane Gorman, Rogersville; and Daniella and Timothy, Springfield; sisters, Della Crabtree, Salem; Rozelle Smith and husband, Dan, Salem; Deana Neal and husband, Larry, Birchtree; and Verna Roberts, Salem; brothers, Ralph Atchison and wife, Bea, Eminence; and Dennis Atchison and wife, Debbie, Mt. Mr. Gorman will lie in state 10 a.m. until time of service July 28, 2007 at Dent County Memorial Chapel.
