Mildred Campbell
Mildred V. (Swick) Campbell, 90, left her earthly home March 12, 2007.
She had resided at West Vue Nursing Center the past several years and her family is very appreciative of the wonderful care she received there and at their assisted living facility, Pleasant Valley Manor.
Mildred was born in Salem, Mo., to Raymond E. Walker and Susie Baker Walker on Nov. 29, 1916.
Her parents and brothers, Ryan and Lorin Walker, all preceded her in death.
She was a 1935 graduate of Salem High School, where she served as senior class president, and attended SMS in West Plains, Mo.
Mildred was married to Otis M. Swick April 4, 1936, and he preceded her in death July 3, 1959.
On March 21, 1968, she married Chauncey W. Campbell, who preceded her in death May 31, 1996.
Before her son, Robert, was born, Mildred was a licensed beautician and worked several years as a beauty shop inspector for the state of Missouri.
At this time, she lived in Ava, Mo., with her first husband.
The family moved to West Plains in 1952, and Mildred became a certified Water Safety instructor and taught classes at the city pool for several years.
After her first husband died, Mildred took classes at SMS and became an LPN while working for Dr. Murry Pritchard.
Later, Mildred also worked at Hallmark Card Shop in West Plains, and when she and her second husband, Chauncey, retired, they moved to Mtn. Home, Ark.
Mildred was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of West Plains and active in the Symphonian Circle for many years.
She was a charter member of IH, PEO Sisterhood at Ava, and later remitter to Chapter CM in West Plains.
She also was a Past Matron and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 47, Ava, and a member of Pleiades Shrine No. 1 in Springfield, Mo.
Mildred is survived by her loving son, Robert M. Swick, Pueblo, Colo.; and stepchildren, Joyce (Richard) McGee, Crawford, Texas, Jack Campbell, Key West, Fla., Judy (Andy) Ingalsbe and Bonnie (Don) Long, both of West Plains; along with one niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with interment to follow at the Boone Creek Cemetery in Licking, Mo., under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and can be left at the funeral home.
Marshall Rinker
Funeral services for Marshall Lee Rinker, 72, West Plains, Mo., will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rob Whittingham officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Johnathan J. Rinker and Mamie Jennings Rinker on Nov. 5, 1934, in Blanchard, Okla., and died March 14, 2007, in West Plains.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Earls Dec. 21, 1957, in Seal Beach, Calif., and to this union one son was born.
Mr. Rinker received his formal education in the Elmore City (Okla.) School District.
Later, he attended Southern California Bible College in Costa Mesa, Calif.
After his term of military service, he worked 12 years for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of West Plains.
He later became a real estate broker in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
Most importantly, he was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ with his membership in Horseshoe Bend Assembly of God.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Rinker is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Timothy Rinker, and two granddaughters, Kristen and Tailer Rinker, all of West Plains; two brothers, Rollie Rinker, wife, Ann, Perryton, Texas, James Rinker, wife, Sylvia, Lynchburg, Va.; two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Carol Hunter, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many devoted relatives by marriage, including one brother-in-law, Bob Wayne Earls, wife, Eileen, Escondido, Calif., and three sisters-in-law, Retha Aveling, husband, Robin, West Plains, Joyce Price, husband, Walter, and Bonnie Chapman, husband, Bill, Horseshoe Bend; many devoted nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains.

Margaret Miller
Margaret Ann Price Miller quietly passed away from natural causes in the early morning hours on Monday, March 26, 2007, at the home of her mother. Born Oct. 30, 1943, in Vandalia, Ill., to Earl and Selma Price, she was 63 years old.
Margaret was lovingly known as “Marge” to family and friends.
She operated “Marge’s Sugar Shack” in Willow Springs from October 1998 to January 2000.
She was married to Roy McGowan in Ventura County, Calif., until his untimely passing.
She was later married to Ken Miller in Palmdale, Calif., the couple later divorced.
She was described as a loving mother, daughter and niece, and will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.
Marge was preceded in death by her father, Earl Price, in March 2005.
She is survived by her mother, Selma “Sally” Price, Willow Springs; her sons, Tim McGowan, Branson, and Michael McGowan, Boise, Idaho.
She is further survived by her twin sister, Mary Price, Hawaii; and her brother, Richard Price, Santa Barbara, Calif.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the Presbyterian Church, East Third and North Center Streets, in Willow Springs. Private interment will be held at Willow City Cemetery at a later time.

Graveside services for James Rodman Jones, 88, West Plains, Mo., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones died 11:28 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in John J. Pershing VA Center, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Melbourne, Ark., to Cecil Anderson and Hattie Maude Clift Jones.
He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre and in the Battle of the Bulge.
Before his retirement, Mr. Jones was employed as a lineman with Howell-Oregon Electric Co-op.
He was a member of the Elks Club and the AmVets.
He is survived by three children, Cheryl Morgan, Powhatan, Ark., Theresa Eagleman, husband, Bob, and Robert Jones, West Plains; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Sams, husband, Floyd, Edna Conrad and Vida Welch, all of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; two brothers, Alfred and Alvie Jones; and two sisters, Ida Patterson and Viva Bell, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
