Mary Elizabeth Stone (nee Bealke) of Kirkwood died Tuesday, July 5, 2005.
Mrs. Stone's passion was teaching. She was a teacher for over 40 years in the Kirkwood and Webster Groves school districts, and was especially committed to special reading programs. She was a 50-year member and an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood. Her warm smile, caring disposition and enduring sense of family will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Stone was the wife of the late Randolph Stone; sister of Frances Bealke and the late William and Sylvan Bealke; aunt of Barbara, Bruce, Gretchen, Mary Alice, Betsy and the late Brian; great-aunt of Lauren, Brian, Tim, Jon, Denise, Matthew and Andrea; and great-great-aunt of Liza.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 10 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams at Kirkwood Road. Interment private.

Daniel LeClaire Claypool, formerly of Webster Groves died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, after a short illness.
Mr. Claypool was born at Fort Crook, Neb. He was raised in Webster Groves, and attended Webster Groves High School. He earned a B.A. in mathematics from Webster University, a B.S. in economics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and an associate in arts and engineering science from St. Louis Community College-Meramec.
Mr. Claypool worked as an environmental specialist for the state of New Mexico for 11 years. He was active in several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors; the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies; Grant County Rolling Stones, and Continental Divide Trail Alliances. He also sponsored a child in Ecuador.
Mr. Claypool was the son of Rita M. (Compton) and Ralph L. Claypool Jr.; brother of Patricia A. (Gary) Oakley, Mary C. (Kimert) DeClue, Peggy M. (Andrew) Smegner and Michael L. (Cindy) Claypool; uncle of 10 nieces and nephews, and ex-husband and good friend of Carol Sanders.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 341 E. Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves. Memorials to a charity of one's choice.
Robert McNeely Cochran Jr. of Kirkwood died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.
Mr. Cochran was the husband of Joan Cochran (nee Edwards); father of R. McNeely ÒMickÓ (Pat) Cochran and Kelley Edwards (Greg) Laughton; grandfather of Garrett McNeely, Kelley Elizabeth Cochran and Reid Warren Laughton; brother of Ann McCandless and Jane Hughes; uncle, godfather, cousin, friend to many and an avid golfer and sportsman.

John R. Gibbons of Kirkwood died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004.
Mr. Gibbons was the husband of Jean Gibbons; father of David M. Gibbons and James R. (Esther) Gibbons; grandfather of Jeff and Ken; brother of Michael (Folsta) Gibbons; uncle, cousin and friend to many.

John Edwin McKinley of Webster Groves died at home in his sleep Friday, Nov. 19, 2004. He was 57.
Mr. McKinley was born in Wellington, Kan., and attended Wichita State under a football scholarship. He was married to Marguerite Heath for seven years; they had three children. In 1981 he married Deborah K. Mau. He graduated from St. Louis University in 1993 with a B.S. in organizational administration, and was employed by Southwestern Bell (SBC) for over 30 years, retiring in 2001 as a systems analyst. In his retirement, he began a career in real estate, recently with Century 21, Neubauer Reality.
He was an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Webster Groves (serving as treasurer), SLU Lutheran Campus Ministry Board, the Billiken Club and DeBourg Society.
Mr. McKinley is survived by his wife, Deborah; three children, Leland (Shelley) McKinley, Shannon (Doug) Sultz and Shawn McKinley; five grandchildren; his parents, Roy and Ann McKinley; five siblings, Anna (David) Limbaugh, Roy McKinley, Mike (Karen) McKinley, Carol (Rod) Howard and David (Kathy) McKinley; his mother and father in-law, Norma and John Mau; sisters-in-law Christine and Karen Mau; brother-in- law Mark Mau (Kathy Bonds), and many friends.

Lucy S. Reed (nee Sherrill), a longtime resident of Webster Groves died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004.
Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Webster Groves High School. She was a lay leader at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, and was involved with the Salvation Army and the Webster University Symphony Board. She was a longtime member of Coldwater Outing and Game Preserve.
Mrs. Reed was the wife of Robert V. Reed; mother of Ann (Tom) Deddons and Cathy (Matt) Ernst; grandmother of six, and friend to many.

Richard Spencer of Glendale died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. He was 51.
Mr. Spencer was a member of Bricklayers Local 1 and the International Bricklayers Union for over 30 years. Bruce E. Woodruff of Kirkwood died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004. He was 74.
Mr. Woodruff was a former member of the Kirkwood School Board, serving as board president from 1972 to 1976; a member of the Kirkwood Planning and Zoning Commission from 1983 to 1986; and chairman of the Kirkwood Charter Commission in 1983. He was named Citizen of the Year by the Kirkwood Chamber of Commerce in 1983.
Mr. Woodruff was a second lieutenant and B-47 pilot in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, and went on to study law at Washington University. He graduated second in his class in 1959, and practiced law with Cobbs, Armstrong, Teasdale & Roos (now Armstrong Teasdale) for 45 years.
He was the husband of Carolyn M. Woodruff (nee Clark); father of David C. (Lisa) Woodruff, Douglas B. (Gina) Woodruff, Lynn (Charles) Colburn and Daniel R. (Stacey) Woodruff; grandfather of Chase, Hadley, Jana, Jordan, Catherine and Clark Woodruff, and Catherine and Christen Colburn.

Bertha Lucille Stout (nee Leonard), a longtime resident of Webster Groves died Tuesday, March 15, 2005. She was 96.
Mrs. Stout was the daughter of Calloway and Lucy Belle (Mackey) Leonard. She was born in Leeper, Wayne County, Mo., on Jan. 27, 1909.
On March 31, 1932, she married Glenn D. Stout. He preceded her in death in 1961. Prior to moving to Manor Grove Nursing Home in Kirkwood, Mrs. Stout lived at 1229 Culver Hill Drive. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and flowers. She loved visiting with neighbors, baking, and preparing meals to share with family members and friends.
Mrs. Stout is survived by her children, Judy (Curt) Fritz of Shrewsbury, Bob (Jeanne) Stout of St. Charles, Bill (Elaine) Stout of Arnold, and Jackie (Ron) Stilwell of Webster Groves; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m., at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves, with Rev. Scott Lohse officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services begin. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery.

Cynthia Catherine Stout (nee Eyres) of Webster Groves died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005. She was 64.
Mrs. Stout lived in Webster Groves for 44 years. She and her husband Rodney ran the first bed and breakfast establishment in Webster Groves, called Roseacre House.
The business, which opened in 1998, closed in 2000 when Mrs. Stout suffered a stroke. The couple also owned and operated Commercial 35, Inc., a photo slide lab, for 30 years until their retirement in 1999.
Mrs. Stout was born in Chicago, Ill., graduated from Lutheran High School, and attended William Woods College in Fulton, Mo., as a music major. She was an exceptional person, larger than life with a heart to match. She was the "hostess with the mostest, " and happiest surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Stout was the wife of Rodney W. Stout for 45 years; mother of Brad W., David M. and Frederick H. Stout III; grandmother of Michael, Jacqueline and Luke; mother-in-law of Renee Stout; sister of Elise Oar, Darlene Willis, John Eyres and the late David Eyres. She was the cousin of Georgia Landen, who also served as her caregiver for the past two years. She was cherished by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Fred D. Stracke of Des Peres died Thursday, May 5, 2005.
Mr. Stracke was the father of David (Christine), Doug (Lisa) and Don Stracke; grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Lawrence E. Stout of Warson Woods died Tuesday, July 12, 2005.
Mr. Stout attended Washington University, graduating with a bachelors degree in chemical engineering. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, and worked in Research and Development at Monsanto for more than 40 years.
Mr. Stout was on the Webster Groves Board of Education; on the board of directors for the St. Louis Chamber Chorus; and a longtime member of the Webster Groves Presbyterian Choir.
He was the husband of Katinka Stout (nee Conger); father of Larry (Debbie) Stout, Christine Bodilly and Sarah (James) Schaettle; grandfather of Shanna, Joel and Bethany; brother of Catherine (Robert) Vanderpearl; uncle, brother-in-law and friend.
