Deacon Richard H. Wessels of Webster Groves died Friday, March 4, 2005. He was 80.
Mr. Wessels married Rose Mary Collins on June 7, 1958, in Our Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He had served in Korea in the Army, and lived in France for three years working as a translator before returning to become a high school Spanish teacher in Texas.
He was a computer auditing programmer for AVSCOM, a mapping agency of the U.S. Government, until his retirement in 1985 after 25 years. He was Our Holy Redeemer's first deacon, and enjoyed gardening and carpentry.
Mr. Wessels was the husband of the late Rose Mary (ne Collins) Wessels; father of Anne Marie (Keith) McLaughlin, Kathleen Rose Wessels, Margaret Mary (Gregory) Reiker, Cecelia Marie Collins, Richard Louis (Holly) Wessels and the late John Joseph Wessels; brother of Catherine Reber, Sr. Rose Margaret CPS and the late Ruth Pfaff; grandfather of eight; uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Samuel B. Westlake of Rock Hill died Tuesday, July 26, 2005.
Mr. Westlake was the husband of Shirley Westlake (nee Wegener); father of Samuel and Laura; son of the late Samuel Westlake, Katherine Hafner, and stepson of James A. Harnett.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 28, at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood. Interment, City of Warrenton City Cemetery.

James Alan Wheeler of Kirkwood died Saturday, June 18, 2005, surrounded by his family after a brave two-year battle with throat cancer. He was 49.
Mr. Wheeler was born on Nov. 29, 1955, in Sullivan, Ind. His family moved to Webster Groves when he was in grade school, and after attending Webster Groves public schools, he attended Meramec Community College.
After several years in the record business, Mr. Wheeler worked for a national video distributor, Sight & Sound Distributors, for over 20 years, doing sales and marketing. He loved his work and made many good friends along the way. He enjoyed life to its fullest. His greatest loves were movies, music and his family.
Mr. Wheeler was the husband of Cynthia for seven years; father of two daughters, Catrina (age 14) and Sophie (age 3); son of Beverly and the late James Wheeler; brother of Kim (Rich) Kelly and Sheri Wiltse; grandson of Lucylle Taylor and Charlotte Wheeler; nephew of Ginger (Pat) Baxter and Wally Wheeler; son-in-law of Merrett and Nancy Litherland; brother-in-law of Mary (Wynn) Hall; uncle of Jimmy and Mandy Kelly, Maggie and Emily Wiltse, and Weston and Keagan Hall.
He is also survived by Catrina's mother, stepfather and stepbrother, Christine, Dave and Steve White. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wheeler, and grandparents Mason Taylor and Waldo and Lillian Wheeler.
A memorial service celebrating Mr. Wheeler's life was held June 21, at Webster Hills United Methodist Church. At his request, his body was cremated. A private family burial of the urn will be held at a later date.

Marion Noble Wheeler of Camden, S.C., formerly of Kirkwood died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in Columbia, S.C.
Mrs. Wheeler was born on Feb. 20, 1916, in Concord, N.H., the daughter of the late Austin and Mable Noble. She served as secretary to New Hampshire U.S. Senator Styles Bridges during the early years of her marriage. After moving to the St. Louis area in 1947, she was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and judging flower shows.
Mrs. Wheeler instilled a love of learning in her children as evidenced by the fact that all three have pursued careers in teaching. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Kirkwood, and served as a leader in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a successful real estate broker with John R. Greene and Axline & Payne Realtors.
In 1976, she and her husband retired to Camden, where she was a member of King Haiglar Garden Club and Grace Episcopal Church. She loved music and laughter among family and friends.
Mrs. Wheeler was the wife of the late Elmer Perley Wheeler; mother of Alan C. Wheeler of Kirkwood, Jean W. (Townley) Redfearn and James D. Wheeler of Camden; grandmother of Erin W. (Will) Boyle of Glendale, Tyke (Shanna) Redfearn and Abbey R. (Ryan) Haddock of Lugoff, S.C.; great-grandmother of Caitlyn Boyle and Riordan Haddock; and close family friend of Christy F. James of Richmond Heights.
The family received friends at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, on April 18, and the funeral service was held April 19, at Grace Episcopal Church, Camden, with interment in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Douglas Holmes officiated.

Gail Cecelia Williams (nee Cholet) of Shrewsbury died Monday, June 20, 2005.
Mrs. Williams was a purchaser for the Webster Groves School District for 15 years, prior to her retirement seven years ago. She was a loving woman whose mission in life was her church and the well being of her family and friends. She loved and was loved by all who knew her at St. Sophia Health Care Center, where she received gentle and loving care.
Mrs. Williams was an active member of St. Michael's Parish, involved in the Legion of Mary, Sodality, Bingo and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She was also active in the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Joseph Guild.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 24, 10 a.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 7622 Sutherland in Shrewsbury. Victor C. Wipke of Des Peres died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005.
Mr. Wipke served in the Army during World War II. He remained in the Army Reserve until 1957. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas for over 25 years before retiring in 1980. He will be greatly missed by everyone he knew and loved.
Mr. Wipke was the husband of Marjorie J. Wipke (nee Wells); father and father-in-law of John W. (Cindy) Wipke and the late Vicki Dryden; grandfather of Andy and Susan Dryden and Christopher and Greg Wipke; uncle and friend.

Mary K. Wood of Kirkwood died Sunday, June 19, 2005. She was 80.
Mrs. Wood grew up in New Hampton, Iowa, and moved to Des Moines in the mid-1940s, where she worked as a secretary. She married her husband, Jack, and moved to Chicago, where they had two daughters. They moved to St. Louis to raise their family. She enjoyed spending her free time with her church, listening to music, sewing and drawing.
Mrs. Wood was the wife of the late Jack E. Wood; mother of Laurie and Bethany Wood, both of St. Louis; grandmother of Maya Hope Delgado Wood of St. Louis; sister of Doris Leichtman of New Hampton, Iowa, and the late John and Roger Kolthoff; sister-in-law, great-aunt and friend.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 24, 2 p.m., at The First Congregational Church of Webster Groves, 10 W. Lockwood Ave. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Samuel A. Worrall of Glendale died Thursday, March 3, 2005.
Mr. Worrall was a member of the Kirkwood Memorial Post 156 of the American Legion. He was the husband of the late Mary Catherine Worrall; father of Robert A. Worrall; grandfather of Sean A., Cathryne E. "Catie" Worrall, Michael (Susan) Fischer and Carrie M. Fischer; brother of the late Cyrus A. (Petey) Worrall; uncle and friend.

William A. Wundrack, former mayor of Sunset Hills died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
Mr. Wundrack was a Sunset Hills alderman from 1969 to 1980, and served as mayor from 1980 to 1989. An electrical engineer (UMR '49), he retired in 1992 as a vice-president of Sverdrup Corporation after 42 years. He served his country, his church, his community and his family.
Joining the Navy during World War II, Mr. Wundrack served in the Pacific Theatre and retired as lieutenant commander after 20 years of service, active and reserve. He was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church for 50 years, serving as Sunday school teacher and committee person. He was a Boy Scout leader and Red Cross volunteer.
Mr. Wundrack married Mary Ann Miles in June of 1951. Their 54-year marriage was a living example of love and partnership for all who know them. Their four children and eight grandchildren benefit from the love they provided and show the marks of the special interest he shared with them including his love of sailing, skiing, distance running and water sports.
A part of him can be seen in all his family - his love of the outdoors, curiosity about how things work, the joy of a Disney song or a Dr. Seuss rhyme, an adventurous spirit who loved to travel but couldn't wait to come home.
Mr. Wundrack was the husband of Mary Ann Wundrack (nee Miles); father of Cynthia (C. Robert) Fauser, Bruce (Ruth) Wundrack, Ann (Kelly) Green and William J. (Cindy) Wundrack; grandfather of Benjamin (Jennifer W.) and Jennifer A. Fauser, Kathryn and Aaron Wundrack, Nathaniel and Eric Green, William and Kaitlyn Wundrack; great-grandfather of Saylah Fauser; uncle and friend. Mr. Wundrack's family, church, community and friends are thankful for this life and will miss him.

Kenneth M. Yadon of Kirkwood, formerly of Webster Groves died Thursday, July 14, 2005.
Mr. Yadon was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Webster Groves, to parents James P. and Alice Parker Yadon. His father was the fire chief of Webster Groves, who retired in 1961; his uncle, Ovid, was the chief of police.
Mr. Yadon joined the Air Force during World War II, and proudly served his country for 22 years with the U.S. Air Force Security Service in Communications-Electronics. He was stationed in Germany, Alaska, Panama, Japan and Brazil, where he taught the use and maintenance of teletype and crypto equipment.
Mr. Yadon was the husband of Mary Lou; father of Nancy (Alan) Brandmeyer, Sandy (Jim) Heiney, Janet (Robert) Richter; stepfather of Jerome J. (Lisa) Gile, Jennifer Jones and Rodney (Patricia) Gile; grandpa of Stacey (Michael) Klingler and Joshua Jones; great-grandpa, brother, uncle and cousin.

Virginia Barker (nee Shook), of Kirkwood died Sunday, March 23, 2003, on her 90th birthday.
Mrs. Barker was the wife of the late James B. Barker; mother of Carol Grumbine and Mary Heemeier; grandmother of Richard Grumbine and Tricia Heemeier; sister, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor.
