Lawrence H. Stephens died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002.
Mr. Stephens was the husband of Vivian Stephens (nee Tharp); father of Linda K. (Boyd) Barnard and Larry A. (Janice) Stephens; grandfather of Christopher Barnard, Sarah Bernard Cuba, Timothy Gregory, Jeffrey, Adrienne and Alexis Stephens; brother of Mary Alice Ryker; uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend to many.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 East Adams; the family will receive friends after the service in the church lounge. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.
Dorothy A. Stewart (nee Otto), 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002. She was 87 and a resident of the Lutheran Convalescent Home in Webster Groves.
Mrs. Stewart was the wife of the late Harold W. Stewart and former wife of the late Harold Bloomquist. She was the mother of Leslie (Frank) Clark, Gail (James) Riesenmy, and Jack (Genie) Stewart. She was the sister of Karl (Emma) Otto and of the late Olga Reichwein, dear grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of six. Dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Mrs. Stewart was a long-time member of the Sweet Adelines (now known as the Ambassadors of Harmony). She was a former leader of the Brownies and Girl Scouts in St. Louis during her children's early years. She also enjoyed reading and gardening and was also a volunteer with the Salvation Army. She was the mayor of Rock Ridge in Ste. Genevieve County during the 1980s.

Robert D. Stephens, died Sunday, July 21, 2002.
Mr. Stephens was the beloved husband of the late Mildred Fern Stephens; father of Robert D. (Ginny) Stephens Jr., Kathleen M. (Joe) Jaboor and the late William J. Stephens; brother of Dorothy McKean, Raymond E. Stephens, and the late George Stephens; dear grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle.

John O. Stobbe, beloved husband of Mary A. Stobbe (nee Gralike), died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.
Mr. Stobbe was the father of John (Elaine) and Gary (Brenda) Stobbe, Mary Anne (Craig) Peschka, and Linda (David) Smith; grandfather of David (Elizabeth) Stobbe, Susan (Paul) Reed, Nate and Jay DeGraaf, Jeremiah Peschka, Chad Smith, Tori and Tom Stobbe, Michael Peschka, Tiffany DeGraaf, and Matt Smith; great grandfather of Rachel Stobbe, Katy Reed, and Jack Stobbe; brother of Ruth Lange, and uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mr. Stobbe was a recipient of the Bronze Star for service during World War II, and a longtime member of VFW Post 6274.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Dec. 21, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Des Peres. Internment was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Bopp Chapel.

Charles J. "Stoby" Stojeba, 85, died on Sunday, June 23, 2002.
Mr. Stojeba owned CJ Stoby Sign Co. in Webster Groves for 35 years and was a member of a world championship fast-pitch softball team.
Mr. Stojeba was the husband of the late Virginia Swoboda Stojeba, father of Cass (Ed) Smith, Roger (Theresa) Stojeba, Cynthia Stojeba, Mary Stojeba, Paul (Deb) Stojeba and the late John Stojeba. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Stojeba and Jane Buescher. Mr. Stojeba had 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were through Gerber Chapel. A Mass was held at the Holy Redeemer Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Donn S. Streiler II, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Streiler was a deputy youth counselor at St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center. He was the father of Brooke and Heidi Streiler; fiancee of the late Dana Maysey; son of Donn and Lucy Streiler; brother of Christine (Mark) Brady, David (Emily) Streiler and Darren Streiler; uncle to Matthew and Ryan Brady; nephew, cousin and friend.
Visitation was to be Aug. 15, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. Funeral, Friday, Aug. 16, 9:30 a.m. from Bopp Chapel to St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne at Clay in Kirkwood for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment, Bethel Cemetery.

Eugene Grenville Sutcliffe, former Kirkwood resident, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, in Tucson, Ariz. He was 89 years old.
Mr. Sutcliffe was the founder of Husky Corporation, a manufacturer of petroleum dispensing products. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was an avid boxer, winning a Golden Gloves Championship in the 1930s. He served as a boxing coach at several Army Air Corps posts during World War II.
In 1957, the Sutcliffe family moved to Kirkwood. They joined the local Methodist church and became members of Greenbriar Country Club.
Mr. Sutcliffe is survived by his wife, Hazel Duffendack Sutcliffe; a son, Grenville G. Sutcliffe of Villa Ridge, Mo.; daughters Marynell Bay of St. Louis, Dr. Joan Sutcliffe-McGoldrick of Brunswick, Maine, and Carol Tegethoff of Tucson; and 15 grandchildren.
Harold S. Swenson, 79, of Columbia, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 11, in Columbia. Mr. Swenson was art supervisor for the Webster Groves School District for nearly 30 years and was an adjunct instructor at Webster University and St. Louis Community College at Meramec.
Mr. Swenson was born March 30, 1922, in Calmar, Iowa, to Adolph and Malla Njus Swenson. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Schneberger. The couple married on Sept. 6, 1947. Mr. Swenson served in the Army Air Corps in Italy during World War II. He later earned bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Iowa. He began his teaching career in a one-room country schoolhouse in northern Iowa.
He was an artist, painter and wood sculptor whose work was exhibited by the Columbia Art League. He was also a member of galleries in Kirkwood, Louisville, Ky., and Hartford, Conn. After retiring, he taught art classes at the Gatesworth Retirement Community in University City.
Other survivors include three sons, Michael Swenson of Rocheport, Timothy Swenson of Columbia and Robert Swenson of Greenway, Ark.; four brothers, Alfred Swenson of Osage, Iowa, Carl Swenson of Loveland, Col., Adolph Donald Swenson of Alta Vista, Iowa, and Joseph Swenson of Shanks, W. Va.; and two grandchildren.

Charles Teague died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001. He was 82.
Mr. Teague was a former utilities department worker for the City of Kirkwood.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood.
Internment was at City Cemetery in Troy, Mo.
George Barry Telfair died Thursday, August 1, 2002. He was 87 years old.
Mr. Telfair was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and worked as an engineer for McDonnell-Douglas. He was the son of the late Edna Correll and George Barry Telfair Sr., and husband of Frances (nee Kislingbury) Telfair.
Mr. Telfair was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood. He is survived by his wife; one son, Henry (Lynne) Telfair and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 East Adams. Arrangements through Forever Oak Hill At Pfitzinger in Kirkwood.
