Elizabeth "Betty" Allen (nee Reeve) of Webster Groves died Tuesday, June 27, 2006. She was 89.
Mrs. Allen was born in Moorestown, N.J., in 1917. She volunteered much of her adult life for the American Red Cross, and received many awards for her blood donations and volunteer hours.
Mrs. Allen was the wife of the late Dr. Edward Frank Allen for 42 years; daughter of the late Eleanor Stokes and Maurice Reeve; mother of Daniel Edward Allen II, Thomas R. Allen and Eleanor Castro; grandmother of Alicia and Marie Castro, Stephanie, Chris and Scott Allen.

Jean Dallam (nee LaBare) of Kirkwood died Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Ms. Dallam was the mother of David (Rocio) Dallam, Scott (Susan) Dallam and the late Steven Dallam; grandmother of Joanna and Elizabeth; friend to many.

Herbert E. "Gene" Hetzler of Webster Groves died Friday, June 30, 2006. He was 84.
Mr. Hetzler and his wife, Ruth Jeanne (nee Turley), lived in Webster Groves for almost 20 years, and were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kirkwood.
Mr. Hetzler flew 37 missions over France and Germany as an Air Force co-pilot during World War II. He worked in commercial real estate with the Collier's Turley Martin Co., and for the past few years was associated with Johnson Group, Inc.
"Gene was always a gentleman, but more than that, he was my hero, " said David E. Johnson, president of Johnson Group, Inc. "Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Boy Scout leader who took time to guide other people's children, a man of quiet but strong Christian conviction, but especially to me a warrior who fought at the speartip in the greatest defense ever of western civilization."
Mr. Hetzler was the father of Beth, Bruce, Gary and Dale Hetzler; brother of David R. Hetzler; grandfather of seven; and great-grandfather of two.

Wilford G. Miles, former dean of the School of Business and Technology at Webster University died Friday, June 30, 2006.
Mr. Miles received a B.S.B.A. from the University of Akron in 1961, an M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas in 1965, and a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1968. He spent most of his life teaching, preparing students for the business world.
Dr. Miles was the husband of Dorothy Miles (nee Duff); father of Laura (Gary) Miles-Kaplan; grandfather of Rachel and Sarah Kaplan; son of Elizabeth and the late Wilford Miles Sr.; brother-in-law, cousin and friend.
Funeral services were held July 3, at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Coeur. Interment, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

John David Ortbals of Webster Groves died Friday, June 30, 2006.
Mr. Ortbals was an artist and teacher at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley for the past 32 years. He was the husband of Helen M. Ortbals (nee Muenz); father of H. Annie (Alex) Ortbals; son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Vernon A. Reisenleiter Jr. of Glendale died Friday, June 30, 2006.
Mr. Reisenleiter graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1955. He received his degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University in 1960, while on an ROTC scholarship. After graduation, he served on the U.S.S. James Madison nuclear submarine. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1975 as Lt. Commander.
Mr. Reisenleiter was the son of the late Vernon and Mildred Reisenleiter; nephew of Louis Zuefle, Marion Dowell, Rosann Kemper and Maxine Reisenleiter; cousin of John, Harry, Melinda and Melissa Reisenleiter, Jack, Bill, Bob and Tom Daly, Dorothy Daly Cherry, William, Dennis and Stephen Dowell, Debbie Zuefle Corner, Theresa Zuefle Ratliff, Robin Kemper Palmer and Scott Kemper; great-cousin, godfather and friend to many.

Theodor F. Buss of Kirkwood died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005. He was 73.

Marilyn Butcher (nee Corning) of Webster Groves died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005. She was 83.
Mrs. Butcher was born in Haverill, Mass., and was a graduate of Boston School of Nursing. She was the wife of the late Harvey Raymond Butcher Jr. M.D.; mother of Harvey Raymond (Phillipa) Butcher III of Roden, The Netherlands, Eugene Corning (Della) Butcher of Portola Valley, Calif., and Nadine Butcher (Thomas A.) Ball of Webster Groves; grandmother of Jeremy, Christopher, Molly, Lesley and Brian Butcher; sister of Priscilla (Richard) Anthony of Westwood, N.J., and Nathalie (Fred) Stocker of Yarmouth Port, Mass.

Dorothy Marie Carmack, formerly of Webster Groves died June 27, 2005 at Cove Creek, Largo, Fla.
Mrs. Carmack was born May 28, 1913, in Tecumseh, Neb. She married William J. Carmack on March 27, 1937, at Christ Lutheran Church in Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Carmack worked at REA in Washington and St. Louis, and was the secretary in the development department at Concordia Seminary.
The Carmacks started the Girl Scout Mounted Troop in Webster Groves. Their daughter, Diane Marie, was born March 23, 1948. Her daughter, Natalie Kohler, was born June 10, 1985, and is at Louisiana State University in Lafayette, La.
Mrs. Carmack was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Webster Groves before moving to Largo, Fla. She is survived by two sisters, Esther (George) Fithian and Helen (Bob) Bentz; and one brother, Lee. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends.

James "Jim" Bulfin of Webster Groves died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006.
Mr. Bulfin was a World War II Army veteran. He was the husband of the late Alice V. Bulfin (nee Dineen); father of Gene Bulfin, Marianne (Bob) Von Rohr, Sheila Creecy, Pat Bulfin, Gerry (Huimei) Bulfin and the late Joseph Bulfin; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of six; brother of Phil Bulfin; uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Thelma Louise Clark of El Reno, Okla., formerly of Kirkwood died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006.
Mrs. Clark was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Blanchester, Ohio, to Frank O. and Clara Allison. She lived most of her adult life in Kirkwood, where she raised her children. She was a volunteer at Barnes Hospital for 34 years, and an active member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Seekers Class and a member of Gamma. In 2002, Mrs. Clark moved to El Reno to be near her son, Richard.
Mrs. Clark was the wife of Arthur C. Clark, who preceded her in death in 1992; mother of Richard A. Clark and Carol Staller; and grandmother of two. She will be missed by friends and family, including nieces and nephews in the Cincinnati area. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Galen Allison.
At her request, there will be no formal services at this time, but memorials may be made in her name to Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 W. Adams, Kirkwood, Mo. 63122.
Marjory L. Hopkinson (nee Boyles) of Kirkwood died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006.
Mrs. Hopkinson was born Sept. 18, 1915. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, and was a clinical instructor in psychiatric nursing there. She was also coordinator of Home Health for the State of Tennessee Department of Public Health.
Mrs. Hopkinson was the wife for 43 years of the late Chester Donovan Boyles and the late Rev. Arthur Hopkinson. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Lasher Stephenson; mother of Patricia (Gary) Gray, Helen Mae (James) McCord, John F. Boyles and Robert P. (Yong) Boyles; sister of Chrystobel Runnion and Francis Stephenson; grandmother of 15; great-grandmother of 17; great-great-grandmother of 10; aunt.
