Dearest mother of Cecilia (Tom) Bahn, Edward (Carol) Brungard, Eric (Kimberley) Brungard, Susan (Scott) Weinrich, Dan (Helen) Brungard, and the late Prudence Anne Brungard; loving grandmother of Chris, Ryan, Maggie, Jamie, Gracie, Spike, Mattie, Mitchell, Matthew, Jackie, and Tyler.
Virginia retired from the Red Cross after several years in disaster relief.

Oliver Eugene Vignery
Vignery, Oliver Eugene 'Gene' Retired public and employee communications manager, died on December 5, 2007. He lived in Des Peres. At the end of 1990, Mr. Vignery retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company headquarters in St. Louis (now AT&T) where he was district manager in charge of employee communications. His numerous communications assignments for Bell spanned 34 years in St. Louis and two years each in Topeka, KS and at AT&T headquarters in New York. He was editor of Southwestern Bell's employee magazine, writer of the annual report, and speech writer for the company chairman. Mr. Vignery was born in Concordia, KS. He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia for two years before entering the U.S. Army in 1943. After World War II he received a bachelor's degree from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. He served three years in the military in World War II and 15 months in the Korean War where he was a military historian. Before being employed by Southwestern Bell, Mr. Vignery was a feature writer, photographer and sports editor for the Chanute, KS, Tribune.
Among survivors are his wife, Claudine (nee Decker) of Des Peres; a son, Craig, of Decatur, IL; a daughter, Katie, of Austin, TX; and two grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son Scott and brother John Robert Vignery.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 W. Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Mercy Palliative Care at St. John's Mercy Medical Center. Arrangements by BOPP CHAPEL.

Dorothy Madeline Kane
Kane, Dorothy Madeline Browne Passed away November 5, 2007. Dorothy was born in New York City to Orville and Mae Browne, married for 61 years to the late Capt. John C. Kane Jr. (USN), and as a “Navy wife” she moved her household and growing family almost twenty times in as many years, as far away as Trinidad and Panama, before settling in the St.Louis area. Dorothy was predeceased by her youngest son David Kane, and her granddaughter Shelby Liane Kane. Survivors include sons Mark Kane (Marie Louise), James Kane (Anne), and daughters Michaela Rodeno (Gregory) and Elizabeth Kelsey (Richard), as well as seven grandchildren: Cornelia Kane, Lindsay Kane, Holly Kane, Katharine Rodeno, John Rodeno, Lauren Kane and Max Kelsey; and one great grandchild, Lily Elizabeth Rice.
After seeing several of her oldest children through college Dorothy attended Washington University where she earned a Liberal Arts degree in 1984. She was an amazing and talented person, a supportive and encouraging mother and grandmother, a faithful and prolific correspondent with her many friends from all over the world, a volunteer, a gardener, a wonderful entertainer and decorator, an avid reader (she learned to read at age four) and a writer of talent. She was vibrant, smart, charming, and beautiful both inside and out. Her family and friends will treasure many wonderful memories of her and her children will try as always to live up to her example (and her sayings, such as “It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness”) .
Many thanks to the good people at Garden View and VNA Hospice who cared for Mom.

Bopp, Jeanette H. (Riemeier), 95, died Sunday at her residence in Kirkwood, Mo.
Beloved wife for 61 years of the late Robert F. Bopp and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include sons Wayne (Mary Sweeney) and Ross (Tami) Bopp; six grandchildren: Clair, Missoula, Mont.; Kaylyn, Denver, Colo.; Lara (Matthew) Goeke, Kirkwood, Mo.; Tara, Los Angeles, Calif.; Sara, Chicago Ill.; and Jonathan, Kirkwood, Mo.; sibling, Erwin Robert Riemeier Jr.
Lifelong resident of Kirkwood and two-time breast cancer survivor. Jeanette was a longtime member and officer of Kirkwood Kultivators Club, she loved bridge, theatre, Broadway musicals, gardening and horse racing. Jeanette was devoted to charitable giving and helping those in need; she was particularly passionate about cancer research, Meals on Wheels, and organizations that served veterans. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, Mo. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment private. Beloved wife of the late David Carson Gray. Beloved mother of Sandra (the late Samuel Brown) Pollock; dearest grandmother of Jonathan Samuel (Samantha Watanaponge) Pollock; great-grandmother of Alexandra and Charlotte Pollock; dear sister, aunt and friend of many.
Iris was a post mistress in Birmingham, England. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1978. Iris was a volunteer at the Kirkwood Library gift shop for 15 years and a member of the Greater St. Louis Knitters’ Guild as well as Gateway Knitters. She had a wide circle of English and American friends and will be greatly missed.
Services: Memorial visitation at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, July 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri.

She was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Nov. 23, 1921. She is survived by her children: Ginny (Baker) Kurrus of Little Rock, Ark., Sally (Dennis) Feist of Houston, Texas, and Charlie (Melissa) Kuhnmuench of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren: Madeline (Matt) Moore, Sarah (Philip) Bemberg, Andrew Kurrus, Stephanie (Michael) Lehto, Parker, Jessica and Connor Feist, Elise, Jake and Paige Kuhnmuench; great-grandchildren: Finley Moore and Kerrington Lehto; sisters-in-law: Barbara Oliver of Overland Park, Kan., and Carolyn Oliver of Columbia, Mo., and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lloyd Eugene Kuhnmuench; parents Charles C. and Virginia (Hays) Oliver; brothers D. Arthur Oliver and Charles C. Oliver Jr.; and sister-in-law Shirley (George) Giessing.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She taught elementary school for many years in Cape Girardeau, Riverview Gardens, Sikeston and Clayton, Mo. She was a 50+ year member of First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, Mo., as well as a 50+ year member of P.E.O.
Visitation is Friday, July 21, 5 to 8 p.m., at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. Funeral service is Saturday, July 22, 10 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams.
