Funeral services were held Feb. 19 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway.
Survivors include: her husband of 34 years, Bill Phillips of Madison; her daughters, Missy Berry of Flowood, and Angie Phillips of Madison; her mother, Mrs. Tommy Smith of Meridian; sister, Kathy Chalfant of Brandon; brothers, Larry Gilbert of Ridgeland and Greg Gilbert of Meridian; grandson, Matthew Phillip LeBlanc; and granddaughter, Rebecca Berry.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Shirley Schabilion, 79, of Flora, died Feb. 17, 2004, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland with burial in Flora City Cemetery.
Survivors include: her daughters, Candace McNamara and husband Leo of Flora, Lynn Evans and husband Gil, and Beverly Schabilion, all of Little Switzerland, N.C.; son, Alar Schabilion and wife Cathy of Spruce Pine, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Orphanage, Tornillo, Preston Frazer and Josh Lynch.

Gladys D. McMullen, 95, of Pickens died Feb. 23, 2004, at Madison County Medical Center in Canton.
Graveside services were held Feb. 25 in Quiet ridge Cemetery in Pickens.
Survivors include: her son, Billy McMullen of Pickens; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lamar "Manson" Beals, 59, of Canton died Feb. 11, 2004, at Oak Forest Hospital in Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Family Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with burial in Onisha Burks Cemetery.
Survivors include: his sons, Edward White and wife Gloria of St. Louis, Mo., Tyrone Watson of Chicago and Markees Beals of Grand Rapids, Mich; daughter, Amy Watson of Chicago; sister, Elizabeth Vinson of Chicago; and brothers, Curtis Dillion of Los Angeles, David Penquite, Danny Penquite and John Penquite, all of Canton.

Gladys Marie Carey Brown, 100, of Flint, Mich., died Feb. 11, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Flora with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: her daughter, Mae Ruth Glover of Flint, Mich.; sister, Jessie Mae Scott of Canton; and daughters-in-law, Olivia Brown and Ruth Brown of Jackson.

Steve Pickering, 51, of Morton, formerly of Canton, died February 24, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Morton Church of God with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Debbie Pickering of Morton; daughters, Stephanie Miller and husband T.J. of Petal, Brandi Pickering of Petal and Jo Ann Hurtt and husband Stevie of Ellisville; son, Steve Pickering Jr. of Petal; stepchildren, Sandra Williamson and husband James, Will Sumerall and wife Tara, and Scott Sumerall and wife Rene, all of Morton, and Victor Sumerall of Brandon; sister, Lois Ann Kellogg of Highland,Texas; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
