Graveside services were held Jan. 15 at Natchez Trace Memorial Park in Madison.
Survivors include: daughters, Dene' Lynn Scott of Jacksonville, Fla., Gail A. Scott of Tacoma, Wash., and Tricia Halle of Jackson; grandchildren, Tiffani Steffy, Joshua Edward Butterfield and Rebecca Leigh Otutoa; and great-grandchildren, Hepi Sepi Adrienna and Sione Joshua Otutoa.

Eliza Johnson-Esco, 90, of Canton died Jan. 14, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at Mt. Zion Cobbville Missionary Baptist Church in Canton with burial in Goodloe Cemetery.
Survivors include: her children, Teresa Baker and husband James and John David Esco of Gary, Ind., Lenora Crowder of Waukegan, Ill., and Albert Lee Esco of Chicago; goddaughter, Yvonne K. Ousley of Canton.
Bessie L. Luckett

Bessie L. Luckett, 83, of East Chicago, Ind., and formerly of Canton, died Jan. 18, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Gary, Ind.
Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in East Chicago with burial in Fern Oak Cemetery in Griffith, Ind.
Survivors include: her daughters, Catherine Gueyser and Willie Mae Gunn, both of East Chicago; sons, Theodore Luckett and wife Debra of Denver, the Rev. Leroy Luckett and wife Doris of Canton, and Chester Luckett of Dallas/Fort Worth; brother, James Smith and wife Ruth Eva of Canton; sisters, Velma Pierce of Chicago, Lorean Brown of Canton and Eugean Johnson of Gary, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Beulah Luckett of Denver; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Marion Dancy Pace, 69, of Bossier City, La., a former Canton resident, died Jan. 15, 2004, at Christus Schumpert Grace Home.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at Waller Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Teague Pace of Bossier City; sons, Grady Teague Pace and wife Jill, Bernice Lee Pace and wife Glynda, Payton Lee Pace and wife Cynthia and Dancy Lee Pace; three grandchildren; and two sisters.

Marvin G. 'Erm' Smith

Marvin G. "Erm" Smith, 87, of Jackson died Dec. 20, 2003, at the Texas; his daughter, Barbie Smith Scales and husband Bo of Brandon; six grandchildren, Brad Butler of Southaven, Melissa Smith Mori and husband Jay of Atlanta, Joey Butler of Madison, Greg Smith, Nick Smith and wife Andrea, and Robbie Smith, all of Mansfield, Texas.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mimi Watts and husband, David of Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Madison Methodist Church, The Awakening at Getwell Road Methodist Church in Southaven, or the Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were held Dec. 27 at Mary Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Canton with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Sandhill.
Survivors include: her son, the Rev. Billye Joe "Cook" Smith and wife Cheryl of Jackson; sisters, Lucy Kate Buckner and Vella Summers and husband Walter of Brandon; brothers, Paul Rip Watson of Stockton, Calif., Charles Kelly and wife Debra of Los Angeles, Clemon Kelly and wife Tonya of Inglewood, Minnesota; and sisters, Annie Lou Kelly and Ola Mae Kelly, both of Chicago.
