Kristin Michelle Smith, 19, of Hattiesburg, died Oct. 17, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Private graveside services were held Oct. 21 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wiggins. A memorial service was held Oct. 23 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Madison.
A native of Jackson, Smith was a 2002 top honor graduate of Madison Central High School and was a sophomore at the University of Southern Calif.; grandparents, Richard and Norma Lewis of Wiggins, and Carroll and Marie Smith of Baltimore, Md.
Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund at the University of Southern Georgia.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland.
Survivors include: his parents, Lauch and Jane Magruder of Highlands, N.C.; daughters, Haille and Neille Gryder of Nashville, Tenn., and Ashley Gryder of Jackson; sisters, Claudia Featherstone of Knoxville, Tenn., Pam Carr of Pensacola, Fla., Susan Vassar of Claremore, Okla., Kay VanSkiver of Delta, Calif., Linda Faye Brasher Thornton of Madison, Glenda Mae Kirk of Clinton, Tallie John Brasher Jr. and Jerry Wayne Brasher, both of Madison; brother, Alton Dewey Shanks of Green ville; half-brothers, Boyd Shanks of Artesia and Sammy Shanks of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; half-sister, Mary Ann Minor of Columbus; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

B.W. Knight, 85, of Carthage died Sept. 23, 2003, at Leake Memorial Extended Care in Carthage.
Funeral services were held Sept. 25 at Breeland Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with burial in Canton Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Pauline Knight of Carthage; sons, James Knight, Douglas Knight and Larry Knight, all of Canton, and Steve Knight of Clinton; daughters, Mary Davis of Canton and Janie Lunsford of Brookwood, Ala.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary Stone Thomas, 82, of Ridgeland died Sept. 23, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were held Sept. 25 at Breeland Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with burial in Canton Cemetery.
Survivors include: her daughter, Frankye S. Provine of Canton; granddaughter, Donna Provine Collins of Canton; niece, Toni H. Whittington of Braxton; and nephew, John L. Houchen of Mendenhall.

Leandrew Jones Jr., 56, of Canton died Sept. 10, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Canton with burial in the church cemetery. Family Memorial Funeral Services Inc. handled arrangements.
Survivors include: his wife, Nettie Ruth Johnson Jones of Canton; children, Stepheney Luckett and husband Earnest James of Canton, and Landros Sylvester Jones of Canton; his mother, Dannie Brooks Jones of Canton; brother, Hercules Jones and wife Emma of Canton; uncle, Arthur Brooks and wife Melba of Canton; aunts, Wydell Brooks of Phoenix, Ariz., and Verdell Hunt and husband Edgar of Canton; mother-in-law, Nettie Williams of Canton; father-in-law, Henry Johnson of Cleveland, N.Y.; sisters, Caudine Jones of Carthage, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
