Player, 77, of Madison died July 29, 2003, at Washington State, Mark Player of Orofino, Idaho, and Joan Player of Madison; three grandchildren, David Allman Patterson, Jason Christopher Steen and Jonathan Player Watson; a brother, Jack Alexander Simmons of Tulsa, Okla.; and a sister, Judy Raesener of Llano, Texas, Lauren Dove, a sophomore at Ole Miss, and Chris Dove, a senior at Tulane University.

Ridgeland
Alma Ruth Tucker of Ridgeland, 98, died July 29, 2003, at Madison County Nursing Home in Canton.
Services were Aug. 1 at First United Methodist Church in Ridgeland with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Survivors include her sister, Louise Tucker of Ridgeland; nephews, Hugh Tucker and wife Betty of Panama City, Fla., and Evan Tucker Gallagher and wife Risa of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on July 27, 2003.
Funeral services were Aug. 2 at St. James M.B. Church in Canton. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by her children, Banequiz, Katherine Elizabeth, Christopher and Joseph Johnson, all of Canton; grandchildren, Octazia and Decarios; special friend, Sylvester Eastland of Canton; brothers, Sam Johnson of Canton, and Alfred and Floyd Johnson, both of Kansas City, MO.; sisters, Mattie Lane, Idell Mcguire, Amie Miggins, Maggie Caldwell, Catherine Lawson, Levada Gillum, Linda Jackson, Crella Jackson and Betty Gibbs, all of Canton.
Family Memorial Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
