Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Brookhaven Funeral Chapel with burial in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Survivors include: his wife, Mildred C. Smith of Canton; sons, Haywood Smith of Canton, Jerry Smith of Nola and Edward Smith of Dallas, Iowa.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Cook Barber of Madison; sons, Tommy L. Barker Jr. of Shreveport, La., Kevin Heath Barker and Shaun P. Barker, both of Waterloo, Texas; and brother, Jerry Barker of Green ville, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at St. Columb's Episcopal Church with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include: his daughters, Nancy Welch Wilson and husband James B. Wilson Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughter, Fay C. McFarland and husband Ray of Raymond; grandchildren, Kenneth Phillips, Kenny McFarland, Larry McFarland, Terry McFarland, Darryl McFarland and Dena Livingston; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Naomi Dodd Burkett, 92, of Jackson died Jan. 17, 2003, in Madison.
Graveside services were held Jan. 19 in Canton Cemetery. Breeland Funeral Home of Canton handled arrangements.
Survivors include: daughter, Faye Dial Hudgins and husband, James of Madison; sister, Mildred Axtell of Canton; and grandchildren, William Hudgins and Jonathan Hudgins, both of Madison.

Robert Clayton Watts, 75, of Canton died Jan. 15, 2003, at Veteran's Hospital in Jackson.
A memorial service was held Jan. 20 at First Baptist Church of Canton.
Survivors include: sisters, Mrs. Glynn Cook of Canton and Mrs. Joseph Lamar of Mobile, Ala.; nieces, Beth Chapman of Mobile and Betty Graham of Kingwood, Texas; and nephews, Roger Cook of Jackson, Tenn., and Lane Cook of Lafayette, La.

Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage with burial in the church cemetery. Peoples Undertaking Co. of Canton handled arrangements.
Survivors include: husband, Leon Leflore of Canton; daughter, Mollie Conway and husband Lawrence of Jackson; sons, Leon M. Leflore Sr. and wife Queenetta of Stafford, Va., and Gerome Leflore and wife Shunda of Crystal Springs; brother, Willie B. Amos Jr. and wife Helen of Green ville; uncle, Walter Barnes and wife Hilda of Durham, N.C.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
