Patricia Alice Nave
Patricia Alice Nave, 71, of Byhalia, died Jan. 27, 2005 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. She was the widow of Joseph A. Nave and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Victoria.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 29 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. Bro. James Wolfe officiated.
She leaves three sons, Joe Allen Nave of Bartlett, Tenn., Carl Nave, Neil Nave, both of Byhalia; four daughters, Clara Moses of Victoria, Cathy Cain of Georgia, Teresa Armstrong of Byhalia, Debbie Nave of Victoria; a brother, Bill Webster of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Grace Moreshead of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were the Victoria Fire Department.
Cleo M. Page
Cleo M. Page, 94, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 26, 2005 at Trinity Missions Nursing Home in Holly Springs. She was the widow of John E. Page, and a Baptist.
She leaves a son, John E. Page of Holly Springs; and a grandson, Michael John Page of Clearwater Fla.
Memorials may be made to Alliance Charitable Foundation, 1430 Hwy 4 East, Holly Springs, MS 35635.
Bro. Leonard Doil Howell
Bro. Leonard Doil Howell, 71, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 28, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. He was a Baptist minister who pastored Mt. View Baptist Church in Ripley, Macedonia Baptist Church in Myrtle, Glenfield Baptist Church in New Albany, Evergreen Baptist Church in Louisville, Shady Grove Baptist Church in Pontotoc and Amaziah Baptist Church in Hickory Flat.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Temperance Hill Baptist Church in Potts Camp. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Jason Howell and Dr. Kara Blackard officiated. United Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy Virginia Humphreys Howell; three sons, Leonard Doil Howell Jr. of New Albany, Lannie Derrick Howell of Etta, Thomas D. Howell of New Albany; three sisters, Nell Dickerson of Memphis, Tenn., Francis Stanley of Holly Springs, Linda Roe of Potts Camp; three brothers, Dolton Howell of Potts Camp, A.J. Howell of Henderson, Tenn., Edward Howell of Potts Camp; five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Derrick Howell.
Pallbearers were Corey Howell, Blake Howell, Justin Weeden, Art Humphreys, James Rhea and Mack Paul King. Bro. Howell’s preacher friends served as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Amaziah Baptist Church’s building fund.
Gloria Ann Kifer
Gloria Ann Kifer, 64, of Byhalia, died Dec. 1, 2005 at Baptist Memphis. She was a Baptist.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
She leaves four sons, Lynn Kifer of Henderson, Ark., Richard Kifer of Byhalia, Kevin Kifer of Arlington, Tx., Derek Kifer of Byhalia; a brother, Jim Thompson of Smithville; a sister, Blanche Hale of Byhalia; and three grandchildren.
Milton Marvin Mobley Jr.
Milton Marvin (Mike) Mobley Jr., 76, died Nov. 27, 2005 in Dallas, Tx. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas. He served in the Air Force and was in active duty during the Korean War. He worked for J.C. Penney for 38 years.
Services were held on Nov. 30 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Norma Mobley; a daughter, Janet Mobley; a son, Paul Mobley; a sister, Betty Lyle of Hot Springs, Ark.; two brothers, John Charles Mobley of Tupelo, Robert James Mobley of Holly Springs; and two grandchildren.
Chester Calvin Porter
Chester Calvin Porter, 52, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 28, 2005 at Flick’s Amoco in Potts Camp. He was a member of Baptist Hill MB Church in Potts Camp. He was disabled and self-employed as a timber cutter.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Baptist Hill MB Church in Potts Camp. Elder Martin officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a daughter, Rachel Porter of Hickory Flat; a son, Chester Calvin Porter Jr. of Hickory Flat; a sister, Mary Ann Powers of Altedena, Calif.; a brother, Barry Powers of Altedena, Calif.; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Grayson, Steven Grayson, Willie Isom, James Grayson Jr., Tracy Craine, Michael Thompson, David Taylor and Eric Porter. Honorary pallbearers were Bernard Porter, Sammy Grayson, Bernell Porter, Rufus Paden, James Grayson Sr. and A.C. Porter.
Gladys Lavenia Rhea
Gladys Lavenia Rhea, 80, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 4, 2005. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.
She leaves her husband, Casey Rhea; three sons, Casey Rhea Jr. of Southaven, Danny Rhea of Potts Camp, Bobby Rhea of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Brenda Anderson of Holly Springs; a sister, Janie (Nooch) Feathers of Bethlehem; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Bolden, Bubba Feathers, Kenneth Feathers, Jackie Brown, Ralph Hunsucker, Jeff Bolden, Byron Hurdle, Jonothan Betts.

James E. (Jimmy) Riles Jr., 50, of Byhalia, died Dec. 2, 2005.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 5 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in Blocker Cemetery.
He leaves a son, Steven Riles of Byhalia; his mother, Polly Riles of Nesbit; his father, Ed Riles of Byhalia; and a brother, Steve Riles of Holly Springs.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Riles.
