June Gadd Robins
June (Bug) Gadd Robins, 36, of Olive Branch and Byhalia, died Nov. 26, 2005 in Byhalia. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Olive Branch.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch.
She leaves two children, Johnathan Cates of Byhalia, Angelique Robins of Flippin, Ark.; a brother and sister, Gary K. Gadd, Alisha Gad VanWey, both of Olive Branch; her parents, Lester and Barbara Sinquefield Farrow of Olive Branch; and a long time special friend, David Newsom.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the House of Grace or the the charity of the donor’s choice.
Lawrence L. Walton
Lawrence L. (Big Rock) Walton, 68, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 23, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare in Holly Springs. He was a retired construction worker, a member of Beverly Chapel CME Church, church steward, choir president and a member of Masonic Lodge.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 29 at Hopewell No. 1 MB Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Lexine Smith officiated. J.F. Brittenum and son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy J. Thompson Walton; three daughters, Cora Walton of Holly Springs, Renee Taylor, Debbie Walker, both of Holly Springs; a son, Robert E. Walton of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Glennie Mae Ricardo of Compton, Calif.; five brothers, Robert Walton of Aurora, Ill., Kinnard (Tobe) Walton of Holly Springs, Timothy Walton of Aurora, Ill., Herbert Walton, Prentiss Walton, both of Holly Springs; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marquette Walton; brothers, George, Willie, Leroy, David, James and Jim Walton.
Pallbearers were Marvin Walton, Robert Woods, Jerry Reed, Keith Walton, Dayton Reed Jr., Kinnard Walton Jr. and Michael Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Walton, Herbert Walton, Tim Walton, Kinnard Walton Sr. and DeWitt Walton.
Doris Ann Williams
Doris Ann Williams, 62, of Humbolt, Tenn., died Dec. 5, 2005 at Bailey Park Nursing Home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Laws Hill.
She leaves two sons, Bobby Collier of Waterford, Steve Alarcon of Pocotello, Id.; two daughters, Barbara Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Diana Alarcon of Idaho; two brothers, Curtis Mullins of Oakland, Tenn., Wayne Mullins of Millington, Tenn.; three sisters, Sue McClain of Walnut, Kay Sullins of Memphis, Elaine Roach of Byhalia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Kennedy Imiracle Turner Boyce
Kennedy Imiracle Turner Boyce, newborn, died Nov. 19, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS in Oxford.
Graveside services were held at Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her mother, Kristie Vontae Turner of Holly Springs; her father, Keena Boyce of Mt. Pleasant; grandparents, Lurline Turner of Holly Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Watkins of Cayce and Charles Boyce of Memphis, Tenn.; and great-grandparents, Gracie Turner of Holly Springs and Jearline Pritchard of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Squire Dotson Foster Jr.
Jerry Elton Delashmit
Jerry Elton Delashmit, 63, of Olive Branch, died Nov. 22, 2005 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Olive Branch. He was a Methodist, and owner of CSI Courier Service.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 26 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, Tenn. Bro. Waid Wilkes officiated.
He leaves his wife, Sara C. Delashmit; three daughters, Teresa Smithey of Champaign, Ill., Tina Beakley of Batesville, Ark., Sarah Dunlap of Bruceton, Tenn.; his mother, Katherine Delashmit of Holly Springs; four sisters, Margaret Delashmit, Joan Kilburn, Joyce Delashmit, all of Holly Springs, Kathy Rhodes of Barton, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Elton Delashmit.
Nella Ruth Edwards
Nella Ruth Edwards, 62, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 27, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto in Southaven. She was the widow of Robert Frank Edwards. She was a Baptist and a care giver.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Center Hill Cemetery in Olive Branch
She leaves four sons, Mace Spencer of Paragould, Ark., Mark Spencer of Memphis, Tenn., Nathan Edwards of Olive Branch, Daniel Edwards of Wenatchee, Wash.; a daughter, Michelle Hawkins of Southaven; five brothers, William Watkins, Billy Watkins, Roy Watkins, Frankie Watkins, all of Victoria, Troy Watkins of Memphis, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Edward M. Grace
Edward M. Grace, 83, died recently. He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Sears after 32 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Coldwater.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on December 1 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Ruby Lundy Grace; two sons, Louie and Richard Grace; three daughters, Sharon and Connie Grace, Charlotte Godfrey; a sister, Geneva Smith; a brother, Earl Grace; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Troy Eugene Hamm
Troy Eugene (Gene) Hamm, 58, died Nov. 7, 2005, at the Ennis Regional Medical Center. A native of Memphis, Tenn., he was a graduate of Oakhaven High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, attended Texas State Technical College. He was employed as a supervisor with General Inspection Laboratories for 20 years and was employed by Vandergriff Technology. He was a member of the National Welders Assoc. and the AARP.
Memorial services were held Nov. 10 at the Keever Chapel in Ennis.
He leaves three daughters, Troyce Smedema of Arlington, Kathleen Hamm of Plano, Rebecca Hamm of Dallas; his mother and step-father, Mauvlene and Joe Winfield of Byhalia; a brother, Rick Hamm of Lodi, Calif.; a sister Darlene Hawkins of Byhalia; six step-sisters and four grandchildren.
