Lucy Mae Dougan
Lucy Mae (Bumpie) Dougan, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died April 21, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated. Burial was in Early Grove Cemetery in Slayden.
She leaves three sons, Thomas D. Skelton of Mt. Pleasant, Bascom Eugene Skelton of Mt. Pleasant, Barry Wayne Yeager of Lincoln City, Ore.; three daughters, Shirley Marie Skelton, Peggy Ruth Hurley, both of Collierville, Patricia Dianne Brown of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Mills Skelton; a grandchild, Linda Mae Skelton; and two great-grandchildren, Lucy Skelton and Georgia Skelton.
Ackzavea Cortez Faulkner
Ackzavea Cortez Faulkner, 15, of Holly Springs, died April 16, 2006 in Holly Springs. He was a member of Holly Springs High School football team and a ninth grade student at Holly Springs High School.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 22 at McMillan Multi-Purpose Center, Rust College. Rev. Jerry Williams officiated. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Catina LaSha Faulkner of Holly Springs; his father, Kendrick Hill of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Lavesha Faulkner, Alexis Faulkner, both of Holly Springs; grandmothers, Betty Hill, Annie Faulkner, both of Holly Springs; grandfather, Woodrow Faulkner of Holly Springs.
Pallbearers were Melvin Faulkner, Vonta Faulkner, Keotto Tennial, DeQuan Tennial, Devan Faulkner, Morece Davis and Maurice Poole. Honorary pallbearers were Sammie Bowen, L.V. Tennial, Charles Tennial, Carlos Jones, Marcus Pool and Daniel Burton.
Jarvis Montez Faulkner
Jarvis Montez Faulkner, 21, of Holly Springs, died April 16, 2006 in Holly Springs. He was in his third year at Ole Miss, a member of New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries in Holly Springs and an honor student. He was a 2003 graduate of Holly Springs High School.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 19 at McMillan Multi-Purpose Center, Rust College. Pastor Actavatis Allen officiated. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Carol Jean Faulkner Whaley of Potts Camp; his father, Woodrow Faulkner of Holly Springs; stepfather, Sammie Whaley of Potts Camp; three sisters, Katrina Taylor of Victoria, Catina Faulkner of Jackson, Janilla Martin of Chulahoma; and four brothers, Woody Faulkner, Woodrow Faulkner III, Donte Faulkner, Tramaine Faulkner, all of Holly Springs.
Pallbearers were William Robinson Sr., Jamario Marion, Jonathan Hoey, Curtis Floyd, Lawrence Muruako, Christopher Williams and Dewane London. Honorary pallbearers were Woody Terrell Faulkner, Thad Lawrence James III, Terrance Faulkner, Perry Faulkner, James A. Wilkins Jr. and DeAngelo DeBerry.
Lucendy Holloway
Lucendy Holloway, 61, of Holly Springs, died April 15, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was disabled.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 22 at Strawberry MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Willie. F. Jeffries officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a daughter, Marilyn Holloway of Holly Springs; two sons, Chris Muse, Sanchez Holloway, both of Holly Springs; her mother, Idalia Harris Holloway of Holly Springs; five sisters, Gussie Hughes of Champaign, Ill., Cederia Elliott, Inell Holloway, Elizabeth Jones, all of Holly Springs, Rose Jacobs of Killeen, Tx.; four brothers, Henry Harris, Monroe Holloway Jr., both of Baltimore, Md., Charlie Holloway, Jerry Holloway, both of Holly Springs; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Jerry Holloway Jr. Lance Elliott, Marcus Jones, Micheal Jones, Octavious Jones, Rodney Elliott, Melvin Jones and Arnez Hardaway. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Holloway, Monroe Holloway, Sanchez Holloway, Jerry Holloway, Chris Muse and Hank Harris.
Florence Tandy Hoover
Florence Tandy Hoover, 93, of Ashland, died April 17, 2006 at Trinity Missions Health and Rehab. He was a farmer.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 19 at Liberty Methodist Church in Ashland, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. William Kemp officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a brother, Dudley B. Hoover of Ashland; two sisters, Mary Frances Hoover, Martha Elizabeth Bosche, both of Jonesboro, Ark.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert David Hoover and William Thomas Hoover.
Pallbearers were Terry Hoover, Charles Hoover, John Thomas Bowen, Billy Bowen, Dennis Jordan and Danny Talbot.
Matthew LaDale McKinney
Matthew LaDale McKinney, 15, of Holly Springs, died April 16, 2006 in Holly Springs. He attended Olive Branch High School and was a member of the basketball team.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 19 at Anderson Chapel CME Church, where he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Denise Anders-Modest officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his parents, Elmo and Shirley McKinney, and Sharon and Essex Wilson, all of Holly Springs, Jimmy Dale Grayson of Holly Springs; four brothers, Marcus LaRone Wilson, Elmo McKinney Jr., Elliott McKinney, Nathaniel Jackie Martin; and three sisters, Marcia Naylor, Greta Joyce Martin, Gloria Jean Martin.

John L. Rhea
John L. Rhea, 70, of Holly Springs, died April 23, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he was retired.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 15 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Nell Rhea; a son, Terry Rhea of Holly Springs; a sister, Jewel Oliver of Oxford; and two grandchildren.
Wilma Mullins Rikard
Wilma Mullins Rikard, of Byhalia, died April 23, 2006 at her home. She was the widow of Charles Rikard. She retired from Sears after 25 years, then went to work for Union Planters Bank and retired from there after 25 years.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on April 26 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
She leaves a sister, Gladys Robinson of Moscow, Tenn., and caregiver, Marie Short.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky; four brothers and two sisters.
