Beaulah Malone Blair
Beaulah Malone Blair, 93, of Byhalia, died Jan. 19, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. She was the widow of John Wesley Blair.
Services were held at 12 noon on Jan. 23 at Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Christ in Byhalia, where she was a member. Burial was in Newell Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Victoria. Supt. Andrew McClellon Sr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves six daughters, Lula M. Hardaway, Dorothy Jones, Linnie Blair, Minnie Wright, all of Byhalia, Helen Hardaway, Ozell White, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three sons, Curtis Blair, Frank Blair, both of Byhalia, Lucious Blair of Holly Springs; two sisters, Ophelia Ealey of Byhalia, Lucille Garmon of Memphis, Tenn.; 58 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnn Hardaway Jr., David Pigues, Curtis Blair Jr., James Blair, Kim Wright, Sammy Wright Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Lucious Blair, Curtis Blair Sr., Frank Blair, Clearence Pigues Jr., Greg Blair and Jeffery Hardaway.
Ellen E. Childers
Ellen E. (Genna) Childers, 57, of Byhalia, died Jan. 17, 2006 in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 20 at Olive Branch Funeral Home Chapel.
She leaves her husband Gaylon Lee (Al) Childers; four children, Richard Newton Dye, Carla Ann Williams, April Renee Feathers, Tawnya Daneane Ray; four sisters, Martha Johnson of Horn Lake, Nancy Emerson of Waterford, Mary Marshall of Waterford, Diane Millwood of Conway, Ark.; two brothers, Marshall (Mike) Jones of Southaven, Gerald (Bo) Jones of Waterford; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Wayne Dye.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

James Henry Croft, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, died Jan. 22, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, Tenn.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 25 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bro. Will Barnes officiated.
He leaves his wife, Joan Snow; two daughters, Wanda Carroll of Adamsville, Tenn., Lisa Croft of Collierville, Tenn.; a sister, Annette Jowers of Mt. Pleasant; and a grandson.
Ava Bridgeforth Garth
Ava Bridgeforth Garth, 52, of Memphis, Tenn., died Jan. 15, 2006 at Germantown Hospital. She was a church usher, a member of Order of Eastern Star and sales clerk with Dillard’s department store.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 20 at Pleasant Grove MB Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a daughter, Lindsay Nicole Garth of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Lott Cary Garth III of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Andrea Marion, Edith Sims, both of Holly Springs, Paulette Ballard of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Larry Wayne Bridgeforth, Glen Bridgeforth, both of Holly Springs, Samuel Dennis Bridgeforth of Holly Springs; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Bridgeforth; and two brothers, Dean Bridgeforth Jr., Rodney Bridgeforth.
Pallbearers were Chaddrick Marion, Chauncey Marion Sr., Cecil Marion Jr., Laricko Strickland, Christopher Bridgeforth, Glynn Bridgeforth Jr., Dean Edward Bridgeforth III and Nicholas Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Lott Cary Garth II, Samuel Bridgeforth, Larry Bridgeforth, Glynn Bridgeforth, Albert Sims and Joseph Ballard.
Alberta DeBerry Griffin
Alberta DeBerry Griffin, 51, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 14, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Hopewell No. 1 MB Church, a member of the church choir, a chuch announcer, missionary society, assistant secretary at church, singer with Sisters in Praise. She was a nursing home nurse.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Andre’ DeBerry officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Lenwood Griffin; a daughter, Sherry Griffin of Holly Springs; two sons, Kevin Griffin of Memphis, Tenn., Terry Griffin of San Antonio, Tx.; her mother, Willie Mae McEwen DeBerry of Holly Springs; four sisters, Elnora McKennley, Lee Etta Smith, both of Memphis, Tenn., Doris Waller of Holly Springs, Mary Beard of Potts Camp; six brothers, James DeBerry, Melvin DeBerry, Rev. Andre’ DeBerry, all of Holly Springs, Roy DeBerry Jr. of Jackson, Willie DeBerry of Irving, Tx., Ronald DeBerry of Memphis, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were nephews, Conery DeBerry, Dale DeBerry, Bennett Waller, Jarvis DeBerry, Courtiney DeBerry, Barry DeBerry, Rasheed DeBerry and Devon DeBerry. Ted Dwight Hillhouse
Ted Dwight Hillhouse, 57, of Oxford, died Jan. 21, 2006 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a Vietnam veteran, a carpenter and a Baptist.
Services were held Jan. 25 at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the New El Bethel Cemetery in Lafayette County. Bro. Jimmy Anthony officiated. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two sons, Brad Hillhouse, Christopher Hillhouse, both of Oxford; four brothers, Mark Hillhouse of Water Valley, Scott Hillhouse of Shreveport, La., Tim Hillhouse of Slayden, Mike Hurdle of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Vicki O’Dell of Holly Springs, Tammy Pasco of Holly Springs, Michelle Skelton of Walnut.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Mack Hillhouse.

Richard B. Langston
Richard B. Langston, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, died Jan. 22, 2006 at his home. He was a switchman for IC Railroad and an Army veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Carey Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial was in Carey Chapel Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy Jean Langston; a son, Richard D. Langston of Branson, Mo.; two daughters, Deborah J. Gaines, Denise E. Boyd, both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Elliott Neon Langston of Waxahachie, Tx.; four sisters, Myrtis E. Todd, Mattie Anderson, both of Mt. Pleasant, Delia Hurdle of Slayden, Katie Skelton of Martinsburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Glen Gaines, Keith Valentine, Aaron Valentine, Justin Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Larry Gaines and Vince Eggers. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Sensing, John Taylor and Brad Brown.

Kimberly Brown Latham, 36, of Laws Hill, died Jan. 17, 2006, at her home. A member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, she was employed at Keel’s Grocery in Laws Hill.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Bro. Arnold Goode officiated.
She leaves her husband, Jimmy Latham; two daughters, Jamie Kayla Wells, Samantha Latham, both of the home; her mother, Gracie Brown of Laws Hill; her father and his wife, Charles and Brenda Brown of Hickory Flat; four brothers, Nick Brown of Hickory Flat, Chuck Brown, Todd Brown, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Brian Willard of Hickory Flat; and a sister, Julie Trammel of Hickory Flat.
