M.C. Myers, 78, of Byhalia, died Feb. 1, 2006 at his home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Edna Myers; five sons, Harvey Myers of Olive Branch, Croley Myers of Memphis, Tenn., Sherman Myers of Memphis, Tenn., Kelvyn Myers of Collierville, Braion Myers of Byhalia; two daughters, Marva Smith of Memphis, Tenn., Velma Myers of Byhalia; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Prentiss Perkins
Prentiss (Pren) Perkins, 41, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 30, 2006 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a factory worker with L.P. Vinyl.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 4 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. James W. Smith Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Prentiss Perkins Jr. of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Kasha Mullins of Ashland; his mother, Susie Ann Zinn Perkins of Holly Springs; and a sister, Lisa Harris of Holly Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Johnnie Mae Perkins.
Pallbearers were Courtney Perkins, DeRoderick Zinn, Andre Zinn, Jacquez Zinn, Christopher Zinn, Jamarcus Zinn, BaShawn Tipler, Harvey Milam, Thaddeus Zinn, Christopher Perkins and Travis Johnson.
Mavis Virginia Rhea
Mavis Virginia Rhea, 75, of Memphis, Tenn., died Feb. 3, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital. She was a Presbyterian and a bookkeeper with River City Masonry.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Slayden Cemetery.
She leaves many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
Juanita Tunstall
Juanita Tunstall, 80, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Winborn, died Jan. 22, 2006. She was the widow of Flenard Tunstall Sr. She began working in domestics and later for a janitorial company that serviced the Penobscot Building in Downtown Detroit. She was elected union steward and served in that position for 13 years.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 at James H. Cole Funeral Home in Detroit, Mich. Burial was in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit, Mich. Bishop Samuel Wilson officiated.
She leaves two sons, Robert Tunstall and Flenard Tunstall Jr.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Justin Lynn Jeanes
Justin Lynn Jeanes, 18, of Ashland, died Dec. 17, 2006. He was a senior at Falkner High School and was scheduled to graduate in May 2007. He was a member of Friendship Methodist Church.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 21 at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Benton County. Bro. Dan Darling officiated.
He leaves his parents, Eric and Tammy Barkley Jeanes of Ashland; two brothers, Christopher and Brady Jeanes of Ashland; his grandparents, Jerry Barkley of Blue Mountain, Lynn and Dorothy Barkley of Ashland, Don and Susie Jeanes of Ashland; three great-grandparents, Billy Wells and Sonny and Kathy Hunt, all of Ashland; and a special friend, Mary Hadaway.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilma Hill; and six great-grandparents, C.W. and Mamie Alberson; Mansel and Lillian Barkley; and Bill and Emma Jeanes.
Pallbearers were C.J. Johnson, Bill York, Josh Thomas, Neal Alberson, Doug Payne and Michael Shoffner. Honorary pallbearers were Johnathan Decanter, Richard Lawrence, Brian Hopkins, Brandon Hopkins, Cody Barkley, Jason Lepard, Tyler Barkley, Taylor Mays and Falkner High School Senior Class.
Johnnie Miller
Johnnie Miller, 56, of Byhalia, died Dec. 19, 2006 in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.
She leaves her husband, Charles Miller; three daughters, Cindy Miller, Donna Miller and Joanna Beard; four sons, James Berry, Steve Miller, Charlie Miller and Chris Miller; a sister, Betty Muncher; 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Allen D. Ohrmundt Sr.
Allen D. Ohrmundt Sr., 64, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 23, 2006 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a crop duster until 1995, when he was hit by a drunk driver and left a quadriplegic. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Services were held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 26 at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be Dec. 28 in St. John Cemetery in the town of Maine, Wausau, Wisc.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Mary; a daughter, Andrea Reppond; a son, Allen Ohrmundt Jr.; a sister, Gail Treu and four grandchildren Sierra, Alexander, Matthew and Meghan.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Dehnel.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allen’s honor be made to MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers) or Faith Lutheran Church, 507 N. Byhalia Rd., Collierville, TN 38017.
Donald Meredith Smith
Donald Meredith Smith, 62, of Memphis, Tenn., died Dec. 20, 2006 at his home. He was a member of ATO Fraternity at Ole Miss, Republican Eagles, a graduate of Ole Miss, MBA, Castle Heights Military Academy; he did doctoral work at MSU. He was Episcopalian and owner of Avalon Dairy.
Services were held at 4 p.m. on Dec. 23 at Christ Episcopal Church. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Rev. Bruce McMillan officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Martha Rives Phillips; a son, Donald M. Smith III of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Natalie Sharlande Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Kathy Chapman of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Stewart Christian Stephenson, 3 months old, of Byhalia, died Dec. 21, 2006 at his home.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 23 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. Bro. Leon Burton officiated.
