Vivian Thaxton Parks
Vivian Thaxton Parks, 89, formerly of Brewton, Ala., Holly Springs, Andalusia, Ala., and a resident of Mobile, Ala., died Dec. 1, 2006 at a local nursing facility. She was a member of Government Street Presbyterian Church, a past member of the Mobile Opera Guild, Mobile Symphony and the Oakleigh Garden Society. She taught elementary school in Holly Springs and St. Louis, Mo., and retired from teaching in Andalusia, Ala. After retirement, she was the public relations director for TV Facts magazine in Mobile.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 6 in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Government Street Presbyterian Church. Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, Ala. was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her daughter, Charlotte Crockett of Mobile; a brother, Claude William Thaxton of Tampa, Fla; two grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Lee Anthony Snow
Lee Anthony Snow, 24, of Byhalia, died Nov. 28, 2006 at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a member of Faith Temple Church and later joined Loving Ministry in Holly Springs. He was employed with Browning Construction Co. in Collierville.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Byhalia High School. Burial was in Hudsonville CME Church Cemetery. Rev. Joseph McKinney officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves three daughters, NeQuira Garner of Corinth, Princess McWhorter of Byhalia, Krishunna Faulkner of Holly Springs; a son, Tylee Snow of Holly Springs; his parents, Larry and Earnestine Snow of Byhalia; a sister, Latonya Snow of Byhalia; two brothers, Cedric Snow of Holly Springs and Larry Snow of Potts Camp; two grandmothers, Queen Ester Dortch of Memphis, Tenn. and Lizzie Snow of Slayden.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers Major Campbell and Elijah Snow; and a brother, Derrick Snow.
Pallbearers were Al Mario Bennem, De Wayne Tustall, Jeffery Marr, Jerreco Norton, Keith Bennem and Willie Snow Jr.
Robbie Jean Taylor
Robbie Jean Taylor, 68, of Potts Camp, died Dec. 1, 2006 at her home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and restaurant owner of Taylor’s Café.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
She leaves her husband, Lonzo Taylor; a son, Carl Lyles of Lamar; two daughters, Kandy Bridges, Annie Melinda Hughes, both of Potts Camp; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deana Warrell
Deana Warrell, 41, of Hickory Flat, died Dec. 1, 2006 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 5 at Winborn UM Church in Hickory Flat. Burial was in Flat Rock Cemetery. Bro. Brownie Towhill and Bro. Scott Bradie officiated. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves four children, Shelia Cox of Arbyrd, Mo., Lisa Shirley of West Memphis, Ark., Erin Mathis of Bartlett, Tenn., Angel Noe of Hickory Flat; her father, Mcrae Sitzes of Memphis, Tenn.; her mother, Nellie Miller and step-father, David Miller, both of Olive Branch; three brothers, Brant Sitzes of West Memphis, Ark., Glenn Sitzes, Jeff Sitzes, both of Hot Springs, Ark.; a step-brother, Clayton Miller of Preston, Mo.; two step-sisters, Mary Helen Haynes of Bartlett, Tenn., Betty Wininger of Olive Branch; five grandchildren and a special friend, David Ricker of Hickory Flat.
Mary Ellen Floate Wells
Mary Ellen Floate Wells, 66, of Waterford, died Nov. 30, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Heritage Apostolic Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Cathy Cemetery in Wyatte. Bro. G.R. Travis and Bro. Clyde Thompson officiated.
She leaves a son, Darrell Wells of Waterford; a daughter, Elizabeth Luttrell of Mason, Tenn.; three brothers, James A. Floate, Jerry Floate, both of Senatobia, Allen Floate of Olive Branch; six sisters, Frances Smart Poss of Hernando, Joyce English of Coldwater, Earnestine Edlin of Senatobia, Dorothy Smith of Olive Branch, Sara Lee of Southaven, Charlotte Bowlan of Olive Branch; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Floate.
Ginnie Florence Woods
Ginnie Florence Woods, 73, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 23, 2006 at her home. She was the widow of Richard Arthur Williams. She was a retired nurse assistant with Trinity Health and Rehab.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 29 at Finley Grove MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Games Green officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three daughters, Corrine Woods, Leatha Mae McClellan, Callie Mae Martin, all of Holly Springs; two sons, Walter Woods of Bolivar, Tenn., John Woods of Holly Springs; three sisters, Lucy Hubbard of Holly Springs, Eliza Holt of Memphis, Tenn., Joella Beard of Whiteville, Tenn.; 43 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wayne Cornelius, Danny Pook, Joel McClinton, Rodney Brown, Dalfredrick Dowdy and Kenneth Echols. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Woods, Deldrick McClellan, George McClellan Jr., Shonta Woods, John McClellan, Nathaniel Martin Jr., Sevestin Martin, Gus Crittle III and Walter Woods Jr.
Gloria DeHaven Brown
Gloria DeHaven Brown, 49, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 19, 2006 at her home. She was a member of New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries in Holly Springs, a 1975 graduate of Holly Springs High School and a cook with Rust College cafeteria.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 25 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Elder Actavatis Allen officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, Deitrick Brown of Holly Springs; her mother, Elizabeth Crumb Brown of Holly Springs; three sisters, Loretta Brown of Holly Springs, Janie Ayres of Memphis, Tenn., Viola Hughes of Aurora, Ill.; and two brothers, Marcello Brown of Aurora, Ill., Wendell Brown of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Brown and Walter Jones.
Pallbearers were Tyrone Crumb, Cecil Adkins, Darren Jones, Javon Adkins, John Lee Spight, Lonnie Beard, Anthony Crumb, Johnny Beard, Arthur Beard and Agrippa Bryson. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Brown Sr., Darryl Ayers, Joseph Shelby, Wendell Brown II, Milton Baines and Barry Jones.
Maxine Scott Fant
Maxine Scott Fant, 93, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 21, 2006 at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was the widow of Leo Fant. She was a church usher, a member of the choir and mother’s board, a former Sunday school teacher, Homemaker Extension and a member of Heroines of Jericho Court 14.
Services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 26 at Finley Grove MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. James Green officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, James W. Ford Sr. of Holly Springs; a sister, Creasie Benford of Cayce; a brother, Moses Scott of Cayce; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Powell Chapel Masonic Lodge #339. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
