Mary Magdelene Perry, 83, of Red Banks, died Feb. 19, 2014, at Baptist Collierville Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. She was the widow of Thomas Perry and a Baptist.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Coldwater Cemetery in Barton. Bro. Ron Davis officiated.
She leaves a brother, Tommy Brown of Oakland, Tenn.; and two sisters, Martha Byrd of Brownsville, Tenn., Helen Brown of Red Banks.
Laura Mae Daigle Randall
Laura Mae Daigle Randall, 61, of Byhalia, died Feb. 1, 2014, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at a later time.
She leaves her husband, Brian “Randy” Randall; her son, Eric Lyle Randall (Margie) of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Maurice Daigle, Phillip Daigle; four sisters, Paulette Stark, Mary Steiger, Christine Bergeron, all from California and Jenny Ryan of Louisiana.
Nola Garrett Robinson
Nola Garrett Robinson, 81, of Red Banks, died Feb. 24, 2014, in Memphis, Tenn. A retired Headstart director and teacher, she worked for ICS for 33 years.
Visitation will be Feb. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and at the church on March 1 from 1:30-2:25 p.m.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on March 1, at Newell Chapel CME Church, where she was a lifelong member.
She leaves her husband, James Robinson; four sons, Lloyd Edward Robinson (Marilyn), Antonious Manuel Robinson, James Donald Robinson, Gaylon Boyette Robinson (Dana); a daughter, Tharon Robinson Seay (Norris); four sisters, John Ella Richards, Wilmoth Simpson, Josephine Blanton (Earl), Bruttie Jean Allen (Barry); four brothers, Lloyd Garrett (Doris), Willie Garrett (Ruby), Lynward Garrett (JoAnn) and Joseph Garrett; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, C.W. Garrett and Alexander Garrett.
Bertha Louise Shaw Clanton Thomas
Bertha Louise Shaw Clanton Thomas, 83, of Waterford, died Feb. 20, 2014, at her home. She was the widow of B.W. Clanton and G.W. Thomas, and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Old Mt. Moriah Church in Laws Hill, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Stan May officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two sons, Bobby Clanton of Holly Springs, Mike Clanton of Potts Camp; three daughters, Sherry Ferrell of Nesbit, Kay Morton of Memphis, Tenn., Sue Day of Laws Hill; a brother, Kenneth Shaw of Waterford; five sisters, Helen Reese, Linda Lovelace, both of Holly Springs, Betty Kazemba of Hernando, Evelyn Burton of Bartlett, Tenn., Ann Stephens of Tampa, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Barrett Clanton, Justin Clanton, John Wesley Day, Kevin Clanton, Stevie Clanton, Keith Reese and Brian Clanton.
Emogene Louise Valentine
Emogene Louise Valentine, 56, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 18, 2014, at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of Travis Lee Valentine.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Slayden Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in Slayden Cemetery. Rev. Larry Bailey of Jonesboro, Ark. (her nephew) officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two sons, Travis Dwayne Valentine (Myra) of Young Harris, Ga., Roy Valentine of Slayden; two daughters, Patricia Box (Gary) of Liverpool, N.Y., Renee Coombe (Gene) of Salem, Conn.; two brothers, Ed Cleaves, John Cleaves, both of Jonesboro, Ark.; two sisters, Wilma Volner of Highland, Ind., Betty Smith of Trumann, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Slayden Cemetery.
George Alanda Waddle
George Alanda Waddle, 66, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 19, 2014, in Holly Springs. He was a Baptist, a maintenance worker and an Army veteran.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Doris Waddle; his mother, Margaret Waddle of Potts Camp; two sons, George C. Waddle (Rhonda) of Potts Camp, Dennis D. Waddle (Dawn) of Memphis, Tenn.; his brother, Jimmy Waddle of Potts Camp; four sisters, Betty McCarver of Independence, Sandra West of Hickory Flat, Scarlett Nichols of Potts Camp, Carolyn Inmon of Potts Camp; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady Waddle, Donnie Waddle; and a sister, Shenia Rhodes.
Clara Barton
Clara Barton, 70, of West Helena, Ark., formerly of Philadelphia, died Aug. 14, 2014, at North Delta Hospice and Palliative Services in Southaven. She was born in Neshoba County and had lived in Phillips County, Ark., most of her life.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 18 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County. Rev. Jimmy Townsend officiated.
She leaves her daughters, Rita Bennett (Thomas), Cathy Gschwend (Ricky), all of West Helena, Ark., Patricia Pannell (Jerry) of Red Banks, Catina Crawford (Johnny) of Bethpage, Tenn., Lola Beckham (Tony) of Philadelphia; sons, David Barton (Diane) of Monett, Ark, Timothy Terry (Barbara) of West Helena, Billy Terry Jr. (Donna) of Marks, James Barton Sr., Bruce Terry, both of West Helena; sisters, May O’Neal of Marvell, Ark., Annie Grantham of Bethpage, Maggie Myers of Philadelphia; brothers, Kenneth Gentry of Marvell, Mitchell Gentry of McComb; 39 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Barton; a sister and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Jake Rich, Jerry Pannell Sr., Patrick Harper, Jonathan Cossey, Tony Beckham Jr., Bruce Alex Terry, Benjamin Watkins and Frankie Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers were Junior Davis, James Barton Jr., Bryan Ford, Chazz Fuqua, Tristan Young, Ricky Gschwend, Tony Beckham Sr., Billy Bruce Terry, David Gheen and Blake Watkins.
Kenneth Hollifield
Kenneth “Leroy” Hollifield, 49, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 11, 2014, at Methodist University Hospital. He was a member of Heritage Apostolic Church and a farming laborer.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 13 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Skelton Cemetery.
He leaves four sons, Johnny Culver of Potts Camp, Junior Hollifield of Alabama, Michael Hollifield, Kenneth L. Hollifield, both of Moscow, Tenn.; a daughter, Brittney Michelle Churchill of Lamar; three brothers, Timothy W. Hollifield of Byhalia, Joseph Michael Hollifield of Sardis, Terry Hollifield of Victoria; a sister, Darlene Hollifield of Holly Springs; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Tim Hollifield Jr., and Bobbie Rhea.
