Thomas Edward Lewis Jr., 75, of Byhalia, died May 6, 2007 at his home. He was a Protestant and an accountant.
Graveside services were held at 11 am. on May 10 at Forrest Hill Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Pearl Lewis; a son, Thomas Lewis III of Horn Lake; two daughters, Debbie Shaffer of Collierville, Tenn., Treesa L. McGuire of Decatur, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Marvin Liles
Marvin (Papa) Liles, 84, of Collierville, Tenn., died May 5, 2007. He was the widower of Shirley Yvonne Whipple, his wife of 61 years. He was honorably discharged in 1953 after serving as a mess sergeant in both World War II and the Korean War.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on May 10 at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, Tenn. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his children, Greg, Pam, Jeff and Scott; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren (with an eighth due this year).
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the Bobby Rhea Jones Jr. Memorial Fund for his children at any Regions Bank.
Benjamin Mayfield Sr.
Benjamin Mayfield Sr., 77, of Holly Springs, died May 8, 2007 at his home. He was a member of Jones Grove MB Church and a retired maintenance worker with Holly Springs Brick and Tile.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 19 at Jones Grove MB Church. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. John Powell officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Earline Malone Mayfield; two daughters, Diane Miller of Olive Branch, Doris Sims of Holly Springs; a son, Ben Mayfield Jr. of Holly Springs; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Alfred Pointer, Frank Mayfield, Willie Lee Pointer, Junior Pointer, Jermaine Walker and Raymond Mayfield Jr.
Mickey Stewart Sr.
Mickey Stewart Sr., 34, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died May 3, 2007 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Ill. He was a laborer with a construction company.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 12 at Chulahoma MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Rebecca Stewart of Holly Springs; his father, Dewitt Elliott of Waterford; seven children, Mickey Stewart Jr., Mickeel Stewart, Mickeya Stewart, Latoya Walls, Mickejia Stewart, Tevin Rush, Isaiah Stewart, all of Aurora, Ill.; four brothers, Anthony (Tony) Stewart, Jamie Stewart, both of Aurora, Ill., Cliff Cathey, Travis Coleman, both of Holly Springs; and his grandmother, Dannie Adams Elliott of Chicago, Ill.
Pallbearers were Tony Howell, Joe Willie Lane, Rodney Jeffries, Rodney Miller, Fredrick Campbell, Freddie B. Faulkner, Willie Glover and Eric Rooks. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony (Tony) Stewart, Jerroy Stewart, Chuckie Stewart, Tyrone Stewart, Jamie Stewart, Rickey Stewart, Stanley Ware and Shame Love.
Kathleen Thompson-Thomas
Kathleen Thompson-Thomas, 59, of Casa Grande, Ariz., formerly of Potts Camp, died May 3, 2007 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center in Arizona. She was the widow of Gene Thomas. She was a special education teacher for Casa Grande Municipal Schools.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 12 at Reid’s Gift Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Williams officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, Michael Mesa of Casa Grande, Ariz.; her mother, Arda Odessa Walker of Potts Camp; two brothers, Ron Thompson of Madison, Jim Thompson of Crystal Springs; and a sister, Bessie Tables of Potts Camp.
James Earl Williams
James Earl Williams, 56, of Potts Camp, died May 13, 2007. He was an employee of American Pacific Paneling and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hickory Flat.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Cornersville Cemetery. Bro. Brownie Tohill officiated.
He leaves his wife, Lynda Hutchens Williams; two stepsons, Lendsay Work of Potts Camp, Phillip Work of New Castle, Wy.; a brother, David Williams of Hickory Flat; a sister, Annie Lee Goodwin of Hickory Flat and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Preston Williams, W.A. Williams, Charles Edward Williams; and his father-in-law, Chester Hutchens.
Dorein Zyielle Zinn
Dorein Zyielle Zinn, infant, died May 7, 2007 at Methodist Hospital South, Memphis, Tenn.

She leaves her mother and father, Dominique Jasper and Deroderick Zinn of Memphis, Tenn.; her grandmothers, Celisa Oliver of Memphis, Tenn., Catherine Zinn of Holly Springs; and great-grandmother, Betty Settles of Memphis, Tenn.
Boyd Caradine
Boyd Caradine, 79, of Wyatte, died Sept. 6, 2007 at Baptist Desoto in Southaven. He was a farmer.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Wyatte Community Church. Burial was in Sinai Cemetery in Byhalia. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
Landon Scott Etheridge
Landon Scott Etheridge, infant, died Sept. 11, 2007 at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He and his sister, Rachel, were born Sept. 27, 2006 in Memphis.
He leaves his parents, Jack and Lagina Etheridge; his sister, Rachel; his grandparents, Rayetta Martin of Waynesboro, Joan Rose of Senatobia, Scott and Doris Etheridge of Holly Springs; and his great-grandmother, Dena Nutt.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Southaven Church of Christ. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch was in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Martin.
