Services were held at 12 noon on Aug. 17 at Ball Hill Baptist Church in Tiplersville. Burial was in the church cemetery. McGhee & Sons Funeral Home, Holly Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves brothers and sisters, Mack Gunn, George Steele, Otis Gunn, Zadie Williams, Laura Gunn, Catherine Brown; and a special friend, Helen Jones.
Justin Edward Halley
Justin Edward Halley, 22, of Marshall County, died Aug. 20, 2007 at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery in Cayce. Rev. R.W. Moffett officiated.
He leaves his father, John L. Halley of Marshall County; his mother, Sharon Kay Maxwell of Marshall County; a sister, Amie Moffett of Water Valley; a brother, John Halley of Marshall County; a grandmother, Dorothy Maxwell of Memphis, Tenn.; and grandparents, Glenn and Aldean Halley of Marshall County.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Maxwell; and his grandmother, Barbara Halley.

David Lynn Long, 61, of Byhalia, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at his home. He was a Baptist and retired owner of Northeastern Plumbing Co. in Olive Branch.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Peebles West Chapel on Hwy. 64 at Oakland, Tenn. Burial was in Hood Cemetery at Somerville, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan Houston Long; three daughters, Sharon Looney and Karen Long of Byhalia; Crystal McDowell of Coldwater; and a son, Christopher Long of Nesbit; two sisters, Edna Mae Carter of Brownsville, Tenn., Carol Crouse of Henderson, Tenn.; a brother, Ronnie Long of Somerville, Tenn., and five grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Marshall County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Eddie Lewis Washington, 59, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 17, 2007 at his home in the Hudsonville Community. He was a member of Powell Chapel MB Church and a former employee of Edwards Fertilizer Company in Holly Springs.

He leaves his wife, Josiephine Glover Washington; three daughters, Loretta Alexander of Olive Branch, Priscilla Glover of Holly Springs, Pamela Lucas of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Howard Washington, William Washington, both of Holly Springs, Ameal Washington of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Washington and Ada Boga Washington.

Earnestine Marion Adams, 65, of Waterford, died Aug. 8, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was the widow of Willie Glenn Adams. She was a church usher, missionary and was retired from the dietary department of the University of Mississippi in Oxford.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 14 at Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Billy Williams officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three sons, Troy Adams, Timothy Adams, Willie B. Adams, all of Waterford; a sister, Louise Cathey of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Leslie Marion, James Marion, John Cathey, all of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, McKinley Adams.

She leaves two daughters, Mamie Byers, Clara Bounds, both of Holly Springs; two brothers, Leester Rayford, Johnny Rayford, both of Victoria; a sister, Georgia Mae Rayford of Byhalia; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Henry M. Hollowell, 86, of Holly Springs, formerly of Victoria, died Aug. 14, 2007 in Southaven. He was the widower of Hazel M. Hollowell. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran, a former fireman in West Helena, Ark., and a Baptist.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 18 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 17 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors. Burial was in the Garden of Prayer at Lee Memorial Park. Rev. Dale Carr officiated.
She leaves her son, Larry Threadgill of Collierville, Tenn; three sisters, her caregiver Patsy Brown of Byhalia, Betty Conwill of Verona, Louise Phillips of Columbus; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael (Mike) Threadgill; her brother, Charles Burleson; a sister, Catherine Burleson; and a grandson, Michael Threadgill Jr.
