Barbara Rose Huckeba
Barbara Rose Huckeba, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, died Jan. 21, 2007 in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Carey Chapel Baptist Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel Bro. O.E. Langley officiated. Burial was in Carey Chapel Church Cemetery.
She leaves her husband, Jerry Huckeba; a son, James Huckeba of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Lisa McGun of Memphis, Tenn., Susan Sherrod of Mt. Pleasant, Lynn Green of Longview, Tx.; a sister, Linda Votters of St. Augustine, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Halmyre.
Darlos H. Hudson
Darlos H. Hudson, 79, of Lamar, died Jan. 19, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven. He was a Presbyterian, and a foreman with Sunbeam, Inc.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 22 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Don Wilson officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
He leaves two daughters, Darla Hudson of Holly Springs, Lynn Crawford of Frisco, Tx.; three brothers, James W. Hudson, Wayne E. Hudson of New Albany, Johnny M. Hudson of China; and two grandchildren.
Bruno Kalnins
Bruno Kalnins, 78, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 14, 2007 at Alliance HealthCare System Hospital. He was the widower of Lorraine Kalnins.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 17 at Hill Crest Cemetery. Rev. Milton Boyd officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his stepdaughter, Theresa Cooper of Florida.
Lou Nettie Kimble
Lou Nettie Kimble, 68, of Byhalia, died Jan. 21, 2007 at Trinity Missions Health and Rehab. She was Pentecostal.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 23 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. Bro. G.R. Travis and Bro. Travis Montgomery officiated.
She leaves two sons, Bobby Ray Kimble, Milton Wayne Kimble, both of Byhalia; two daughters, Nettie Jean Barnett of Byhalia, Deborah Yon of Holly Springs; a brother, Jimmy Chaney of Plantersville; a brother, Jimmy Chaney, of Plantersville; two sisters, Betty Tucker of Nettleton, Nita Jones of Plantersville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Bridgett Kimble.
Pallbearers were Clifford Yon Jr., Gary Yon, Brandon Turner Kimble, Rich Prince, Rodney Chaney, Larry Mason and Ricky Chaney.
Ann J. Mack
Ann J. Mack, 98, died Jan. 15, 2007. She was the widow of Freeborn A. Mack, who died October 2001. She was a life resident of the Syracuse, N.Y. area until her retirement from the Onondaga County Clerk’s office. She and her husband retired to Spring Hill, Fla. Upon his death, she resided with her daughter in Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Nesbit.
Services will be held at a later date. Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch, will be in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y.
She leaves a daughter, Mary Ann Carey of Nesbit; two sisters, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Dorothy Pegues
Dorothy Pegues, 82, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 16, 2007 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Speaker Andrew Pegues officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves six children, Gloria Shakespeare of Holly Springs, Marshall Pegues Jr. of Lovelady, Tx., Jordan Pegues, Stanley Pegues of Chicago, Ill., Lawrence Pegues of Evanston, Ill, Tim Pegues of Charlottesville, Va.; two brothers, Henry Clay Collins, Leon Moore, both of Holly Springs; a sister, Littie Smith of Holly Springs; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Limmie Smith
Limmie Smith, 83, of Ripley, died Jan. 17, 2007 at Graceland Care Center in New Albany.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 18 at Whitten Town Baptist Church in Ripley. Burial was in the church cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three sons, Leon Smith of Shady Grove, Jimmy Smith of Ripley, Billy Smith of Potts Camp; a sister, May Smith of Ingomar; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Charles W. White
Charles W. White, 85, of Hickory Flat, died Jan. 15, 2007 at Graceland Nursing Home in New Albany. He was a Methodist, a soil conservationist with the U.S. government and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Glenfield Cemetery in New Albany. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Alise White; a daughter, Falba Hill of New Albany; a brother, James White of Branson; a sister, Ilene Hudspeth of Hickory Flat; a stepson, Ronald Smith of Sandwich, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
