Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the Foundation of Life Church in Lamar. Burial was in the Jeffries Cemetery in Lamar. Springfield Chapel Funeral Home in Corinth was in charge of arrangements.
Adolph Douglas Ingram
Adolph Douglas (Ben) Ingram, 72, of Waterford, died Jan. 30, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford. He was a retired laborer with Re-Cycle Plant in Aurora, Ill.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 3 at Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Felix Tuggles officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Lizzie Mae Ingram; six daughters, Christabell Ingram, Dorothy J. Turnage, Sandra Jeffries, Melissa Ingram, all of Waterford, Karisa Stewart, Katrina Judon, both of Aurora, Ill.; two sons, Adell Ingram of Chicago, Ill., Cecil Ingram of Waterford; a sister, Dorothy Hodge of Cleveland, Ohio; 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Russell Malone, Adolph Ingram Jr.; and siblings, Hattie Ingram, Annie Adams, Ressie Tuggles, Lenora Malone, Elque Adams, Richard Adams, Lovely T.C. Adams, Willie Glenn Adams, Felix Ingram, Willie Ingram, Robert Ingram, James Ingram.
Pallbearers were Carey Turnage, Gary Turnage, Brian Vaughn, Steven Jeffries, Demetrius Ingram, Travis Turnage and Derrick Gibson. Honorary pallbearers were Adell Ingram, Cecil Ingram, Alfred Jeffries, Johnny Turnage, Henry Tuggles, Timothy Adams, Troy Adams, Willie Adams, Juan Adams and Willie J. Martin.
Rickey Dale Mackey Jr.
Rickey Dale Mackey Jr., 27, of Red Banks, died Feb. 3, 2007. He was a member of the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and a welder.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Sarah Mackey; two sons, Sidney Daniel Mackey, Jacob Dale Mackey, both of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Allysa Myrryne; his parents, Rickey and Starla Mackey of Scottland, Ark.; his mother, Patricia Blackley of Holly Springs; grandparents, Sidney and Myrtle Mackey of Mt. Pleasant; grandmother, Joan Allen of Shirley, Ark.; brothers Dewayne Mackey of Mt. Pleasant, Rodney of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; two sisters, Kayla Roberson of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Kelly Byrd of Slayden.
Gertrude James McCallum
Gertrude James McCallum, 87, of Holly Springs, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died Feb 2, 2007. She was the widow of W.T. McCallum, her husband of more than 60 years. She was a member of Emory Independent Methodist Church in Byhalia and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Burial was in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery.
She leaves three sons, W.T. McCallum Jr., James T. (Buddy) McCallum, both of Memphis, Tenn., Stephen A. McCallum of Heber Springs, Ark.; her brother, Joe James of Williston, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Emory Independent Methodist Church of Byhalia.
Walter E. Owens
Walter E. Owens, 89, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 4, 2007 at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford. He was the widower of Mary Ann Feathers Owens. He was a member of Holly Hill Baptist Church and an employee of Wonder Products.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.
He leaves a son, Roger Owens of Coldwater; three daughters, Evie Jean Hunter of Holly Springs, Margaret Culver of Waterford, Kathy Nelms of Corinth; two brothers, Hubert Owens of Jasper, Tenn., Travis Owens of Texas; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughters Shirley Ford, Vickie Owens and Dorothy Owens.
Mary Willie Reaves
Mary Willie Reaves, 80, of Ashland, died Jan. 30, 2007 at her home. She was a church mother.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 3 at St. Luke Church of God in Christ in Ashland, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Elder Nathaniel Holleman officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She leaves four daughters, Deloris Walker of Marion, Ark., Gail Reaves of Ashland, Pearlie Norwood of Holly Springs, Bernice Brown of New York, N.Y.; three sons, Levi Taylor, Mark Reaves, both of Ashland, Freddie Reaves of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters; three brothers; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ray Turner, Tavares Reaves, Roosevelt Reaves Jr., Sam Evans, Levi Taylor and Rodney Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Reaves, Mark Reaves, Martavis Reaves, Freddie Reaves, Levi Taylor and Shawtel Reaves.
Nancy Lewis Rhew
Nancy Lewis Rhew, 67, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 5, 2007. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Holly Springs and a licensed social worker with NE Community Services. She was a charter member and president of Marshall County Crime Stoppers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Potts Camp.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, Joe C. Rhew; a daughter, Terri Jackson of Holly Springs; two brothers, Ronnie Lewis of Holly Springs, Sammy Lewis of Ashland; and a sister, Gayle Jordan of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Jean Lewis, a son, Michael Rhew and grandchildren Hailey and Bailey Rhew.
Pallbearers are Mitch Tomlinson Jr., Kevin Thomas, Chuck Thomas, Jay Hurdle, Sam Hurdle, Danny Hurdle, John David Strickland, and Tracy Shaw. Honorary pallbearers are David Sorrell, Milton Bell, Eddie Lafever, Kenny Dickerson, Larry Hall, Elijah Wilson, William Foster and Jeff Monroe.
Phillip Clifton Smith
Phillip Clifton Smtih, 47, of Byhalia, died Jan. 30, 2007 at his home. He was a Baptist and a clerk at Schnucks.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memphis Memory Gardens in Bartlett, Tenn.
He leaves his parents, James and Billie Smith of Byhalia; his companion of 25 years, Arnold Graeber of Byhalia; three brothers, Steven M. Smith of Byhalia, Kenneth T. Smith of Brunswick, Ga., Ernest P. Smith of Byhalia; and a sister, Tamara Lynn Smith of Byhalia.
