Larry Eugene Stidham, 53, of Byhalia, died Oct. 26, 2009 at his home. He was a truck driver.
Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Sandra Deere; a son, Kevin Miller of Byhalia; his mother, Ellen Stidham of Byhalia; two stepsons, John Deere of Byhalia, Brian Bridges of Arab, Al; two stepdaughters, Catherine Deere of Byhalia, Jennifer Dobbins of Southaven; three brothers, Dennis Stidham of Byhalia, Jeffrey Stidham of St. Petersburg, Fla., Johnny Reed of Dallas, Tx.; a sister, Joanne Shaw of Arkadelphia, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
Patricia Ferrell Stroupe
Patricia Ferrell Stroupe, 74, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 7, 2009 at her home. She was a member of Ashland Baptist Church. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Ashland Cemetery.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Neil Stroupe; a daughter, Stephanie Stroupe of Germantown, Tenn.; a son, Eric Johnson Stroupe of Holly Springs; and five grandchildren.
Henrine Jeffries Womack
Henrine Jeffries Womack, 64, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 4, 2009 in Dallas, Tx. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Jan. 17, 1999.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Carlton Womack; daughters, Carla R. Roberson, Carrine Y. Sibanda, Carlitha Womack; sisters and brothers Louvenia Martin of Cleveland, Ohio, Minnie A. Jeffries Lilly of Painesville, Ohio, Larry Martin of Holly Springs, Madora Mae Funderburk of Cleveland, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by a sister, Beauty Bernal, a brother, Herman Jeffries, and a grandson, Kholwani Sibanda.
Jon Carey Binning Sr.
Jon Carey Binning Sr., 62, of Byhalia, died March 30, 2010 at his home. He was a Baptist and an electrician.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on April 2 at First Baptist Church in Byhalia. Bro. Tommy Snyder officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Mellissa Hammond Binning; four daughters, Michele Binning, Misty Lane, both of Metarie, La., Brandi Binning, Melissa O’Quinn both of Southaven; three brothers, Ira Binning of Walker, La., Earl Binning, Greg Binning, both of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Vivian Binning, Marian Binning, Becky Binning, all of Louisiana; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jon Carey Binning Jr.
Annie Bell Crawford
Annie Bell (Mom-me) Crawford, 76, died March 14, 2010. She was the widow of Leroy Crawford. She professed Christ at an early age at Jones Grove MB Church in Holly Springs. As a young adult, she relocated to Memphis, Tenn., where she sang with the Vance Ensemble gospel group. She united with New Life MB Church, where she faithfully served on the mother board.
Services were held at 12 noon on March 20 at New Life MB Church, Memphis, Tenn. Pastor Lee Wilkins Jr. officiated. Burial was in National Cemetery, Memphis, Tenn. M.J. Edwards Funeral Home, Memphis, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves seven children, Sally B. Robinson, Wilbert L. Crawford, Jerome Crawford, Katherine A. Shepherd, Jimmy L. Crawford, Anthony E. (Tony) Crawford; a goddaughter, Agnes C. Porter; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a child, Willie L. Crawford
Pallbearers were James M. Robinson, Billie Graham, Fred Brown, Carlos Reid, Earl Brown and Earnest Dawkins. Honorary pallbearers were Wilbert L. Crawford, Anthony (Tony) Crawford, Ephron (Carlos) Crawford, William M. Crawford, Jerome Crawford, Ronald E. Crawford, Horace P. White and Bumper Pool Association.
Myrtha Mae Bryson Daugherty
Myrtha Mae Bryson Daugherty, 68, of Lamar, died March 25, 2010 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was the widow of Beasel Daugherty. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a retired van driver with Benton Medical Center.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on April 1 at Sand Hill MB Church, Lamar, where she was a member. Burial was in Hebron MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Etoy Bogard officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves four children, Stanley Daughter, Beasel Daugherty Jr., Terry Daugherty, Willie Daugherty, all of Lamar; two brothers, Jessie Bryson of Ashland, Mack Bryson Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Beasel (Lil B) Daugherty II, Stanley Daugherty Jr., Stephen Daugherty, Mack Bryson III, Terry Daugherty Jr., Zachery Daugherty, Tony Hill and Jeff Bryson. Honorary pallbearers were Beasel Daugherty Jr., Terrence (Terry) Daugherty, Jessie Bryson Sr., Stanley Daugherty Sr., Willie Daugherty and Mack Bryson Jr.
DeAndre’ L. Johnson
DeAndre’ L. Johnson, 14, of Byhalia, died Friday, April 2, 2010, in Holly Springs. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church, a church usher, a ninth grade student at Byhalia High School, a football and track star and an art student.
Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum Funeral Home on April 7 from 2-7 p.m. and on April 8, at St. Matthews Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:55 p.m.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 8 at St. Matthews MB Church in Byhalia. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove MB Church Cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips and Rev. Kenneth Artison will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Gwendolyn Mayse Johnson of Victoria; his father, Terry Johnson of Victoria; two sisters, Terriounda Johnson, Razine Johnson, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Adrian L. Mayse of Victoria, Terrance Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Dontreal McKenzie of Memphis, Tenn.; and grandmothers, Juliette Parker Mayse of Victoria, Josephine Johnson of Holly Springs.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jamaal Lewis Mayse.
Pallbearers will be the Byhalia football team. Honorary pallbearers will be Terrence Johnson, Adrian Mayse, Davion Johnson, Wayne Hardaway, Kavarius Johnson, Dontrel McKinzy, Kentavious Brisco, Reginald Richmond and Jamarcus Hardaway.
David Morris Kimbrough Sr.
David Morris Kimbrough Sr., 54, of Chicago, Ill., died March 28, 2010. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Greenwood Baptist Church. He completed high school and later served in the United States Army. He moved to Chicago in 1975. He was an auto mechanic.
Services were held at 12 noon on April 2 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar. Burial was in the church cemetery. Minister Nathaniel Luellen officiated. C.B. Taylor Funeral Home, Chicago, Ill., and Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs, were in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Sallie Kimbrough of Ashland; two daughters, Renee Sims, Sheronda Kimbrough, both of Chicago, Ill., a son, David M. Kimbrough Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, JoAnn McKenzie of Chicago, Ill.; six brothers, James Kimbrough, Farrar Kimbrough of Saulsbury, Tenn., Clarence Kimbrough, Alfred Kimbrough, both of Ashland, Ben Franklin of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Ernest Kimbrough and Gracie Jackson.
Pallbearers were Arlando Kimbrough, Eric Kimbrough, Henry T. Jackson Jr., Gregory Jackson, Timothy McKenzie, Fabian McKenzie, Michael McKenzie and Kevin Demarion. Honorary pallbearers were James Kimbrough, Farrar Kimbrough, Clarence Kimbrough, Alfred Kimbrough, Lorenzo Luellen and Jerry Luellen.
