Johnny Lee Stewart
Johnny Lee Stewart, 64, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 29, 2010 at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a church steward, a member of the finance committee and men’s breakfast club. He was a retired parts assembler with Marshall Industries.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 2 at Calvin Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Edward Moses officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two children, Felichia James, Keith Stinson, both of Holly Springs; six sisters, Magnolia Harris of Holly Springs, Ernestine Lewis, Katie Burns, Cornelius Green, Darlene Perkins, Taucha Stewart, all of Memphis, Tenn.; five brothers, Joe Dunlap of Festus, Mo., Charles Stewart of Des Moines, Iowa, Lorenzo Stewart, Tracy Stewart, both of Memphis, Tenn., Tony Stewart of Radcliff, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lester Mull, James Stinson, Lee Stinson, Carl Pegues, Turl Davis and Greg Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers were Dereak James, Joe Earl Robertson, Eddie Brown, Jessie Harris, Joe Dunlap and Austin Jenkins.
Sarah Louise Ayers
Sarah Louise Ayers, 48, of Lamar, died Nov. 11, 2010, at her mother’s home in Lamar. She was a certified nursing assisant for Trinity Nursing Home in Holly Springs and other facilities for more than 20 years. She was a member of Hebron MB Church in Lamar.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at Serenity Funeral Home in Holly Springs. Burial was in Palestine Church Cemetery in Ashland. Bro. Brian Ayers officiated.
She leaves her mother, Dorothy Ayers of Lamar; a son, Corderro Ayers of Faulkner; two sisters, Georgia Jackson, Shirley Ayers, both of Lamar; four brothers, William Ayers Jr. of Holly Springs, Larry Ayers of Lamar, Beasley Ayers, Brian Ayers, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Nathaniel Allen, Corderro Ayers, Dewayne Jones, John Lewis, DeAngelo William, Marcus Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Beasley Ayers, Brian Ayers, Larry Ayers, William Ayers Jr. and Odrenell Knox.
Johnnie Mae Thomas Bellinger
Johnnie Mae Thomas Bellinger, 77, of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Marshall County, died Nov. 12, 2010, at her home. She was a graduate of Byhalia High School.
Services were held at 5 p.m. on Nov. 20. Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two sons, Frank and David of Fairfax; a daughter, Mary Jensen of Fairfax; a sister, E. Joy Barksdale; a brother, Wendell Thomas of Red Banks; and a half-sister, Judy Ray Howell of Holly Spring
Robert Briggs
Robert Briggs, 64, of Millington, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 15, 2010, at his fiancee’s home in Millington. He was a member of Norris MB Church in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Concord MB Church in Slayden. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Willie Nelson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves three daughters, Cassandra Briggs of Memphis, Jeanetta Briggs, Danyale Briggs, both of Millington; three sons, Reginald Briggs of Pensacola, Fla., Robert Briggs, Keno Briggs, both of Memphis; two sisters, Ida Margaret Patterson of Ashland, Mollie Johnson of Flint, Mich.; six grandchildren; and his fianceé Mary Lane of Millington.
Annie Bell Reynolds Campbell
Annie Bell Reynolds Campbell, 80, of Lamar, died Nov. 17, 2010, at her home. She was a church missionary and on the Mother Board.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in Lamar, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Claude Campbell of Lamar; nine daughters, Phenora Laney, Linda Campbell, Carolyn Campbell, Janice Williams, all of Lamar, Hattie Watson, Katie Campbell, Annie Jean Turnage, all of Holly Springs, Janie Campbell of Byhalia, Alice Campbell of Hickory Flat; three sons, Clyde Campbell, Earnest Campbell, both of Lamar, John Campbell of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Mae Louis Dowdy of Holly Springs; 39 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Campbell and Lawrence Campbell.
Margaret Nadine Davis
Margaret Nadine Davis, 90, of Corinth, died Nov. 17, 2010, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth. She was the widow of Cayce Davis and a Baptist.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rice Chapel Cemetery in Lamar. Bro. Steve Breedlove officiated.
She leaves four sons, Billy Breedlove of Lamar, Lloyd Breedlove of Benbrook, Tx., Steve Breedlove of Lamoille, Ill., Danny Breedlove of Falkner; two daughters, Ann Taylor, Barbara Wilson, both of Lamar; 28 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Nellie Gray Culver Feathers
Nellie Gray Culver Feathers, 65, of Lamar, died Nov. 15, 2010. She was the widow of Brodie Feathers.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Lamar. Bro. Frank Feathers and Bro. James Polk officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, Bruce Feathers of Walnut; two daughters, Tammy Breedlove, Lannie Yeager, both of Lamar; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Galigher, Brian Mason, Zac Yeager, Justin Brooks, Chris Brooks, Duane Adcox, T.J. Barber, Kelton Feathers and Chris Yeager.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon William Feathers and a granddaughter, Kayla Renee Breedlove.
Marvin Daniel Hailey
Marvin Daniel Hailey, 76, of Lamar, died Nov. 17, 2010, at his home. He was a member of United Methodist Rice Chapel and a slicer with John Morrell Co.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rice Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Jim Cox officiated.
He leaves three sons, Johnny Hailey of Williston, Tenn., Harmon Hailey of Slayden, Glen Hailey of Collierville; two daughters, Bonnie Haisson of Whitlock, Ky., Carol Hailey of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Randy Hailey of Southaven, Alfred Hailey, Bill Hailey, both of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters, Dot Harden of Mt. Pleasant, Frances Sweden of Snow Lake, Edna Seals of Victoria, Martha Paradise of Somerville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hailey, Jarred Hailey, Joey Weaver, Wayne Riles, Johnathan Hailey, Jarrod Hailey, Craig Harson and Jeremy Hailey. Honorary pallbearers were Bryon Gammons and Jerome Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Hailey.
