Connie Willie Ford
Connie Willie Ford, 71, of Warrior, Ala., formerly of Waterford, died Sept. 15, 2010, in Hamilton, Ala. He was a 1959 graduate of Holly Springs High School. He served in the Air Force almost five years. He was a former employee for Clipper Abrasives and Sun Oil Co.
Services were held Sept. 23 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Ala. Hamilton Funeral Home of Hamilton, Ala., was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a daughter, Judy Dyer of Slayden; a granddaughter, Jennifer Edwards of Holloman AFB, N.M.; and a great-granddaughter.
Charles Foster
Charles Levurn Foster, 80, of Byhalia, died Oct. 3, 2010, at his home. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a supervisor for the Carrier Corporation in Collierville for 25 years before his retirement.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 8 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland, Tenn. Dr. P.J. Scott of the First Baptist Church of Olive Branch will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Wilbanks of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Potts Camp. Burial will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery in Oakland. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home - West Chapel, of Oakland will be in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Shirley Ann Henderson; four daughters, Debbie Voyles of Somerville, Tenn., Eva Cook of Byhalia, Kathy Riley of Coldwater, Jeanette Busby of Cochrum; three sons, Robert Foster of Livermore, Colo., Michael Foster of Little Rock, Calif., Jonny Foster of Olive Branch; two stepsons Russell Johnson of Batesville, Mark Johnson of Somerville, Tenn.; his brother, D.C. Foster of Seattle, Wash.; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Foster; sisters, Virginia McAlphin, Elmer Wilbanks; and a brother, Taft Foster.
Pallbearers were Brandon Busby, Geoff Busby, Koby Busby, Austin Johnson, Josh Johnson and Jason Riley.

Lawrence Holloway
Lawrence Holloway, 61, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died Sept. 26, 2010, at his home.
Services were held at 12 noon on Oct. 5 at St. Paul CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Ayers Cemetery in Lake Center. Rev. C.O. Wilkins officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Letonio Slayton of Memphis, Tenn.; his mother, Willie Holloway of Holly Springs; a sister, Ruby Jean West of Atlanta, Ga.; five brothers, Landon Holloway Jr. of Memphis, Elmo Holloway of Aurora, Ill., Dwight Holloway, Andrew (Larry) Holloway, both of Chicago, Ill., J.C. Jefferies of Holly Springs; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Letonio Slayton, Vincent Holloway, Elmo Holloway, Larry Holloway, Tony Holloway and Cleroy Moton.
Carl Martin Jr.
Carl Martin Jr., 65, died Sept. 29, 2010, at Greenbough Nursing Home in Clarksdale. He was a Baptist.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 2 at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at Hudsonville. National Funeral Home of Clarksdale was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves several cousins.
Arthur Lee Martin
Arthur Lee Martin, 68, of Red Banks, died Oct. 1, 2010, at his home. He was a retired construction worker.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Red Banks. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. LaDaryl Odum officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two daughters, April Martin of Byhalia, Miracle Martin of Red Banks; a son, Arthur J. Martin of Red Banks; eight sisters, Mary Gatewood, Ida Morrison, Marie Walls, all of Cayce, Clara Mae Hardaway of Victoria, Lucy Mae Odum of Red Banks, Elnora Coleman of Horn Lake, Florida B. Isom, Bonnie Jean Martin, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Clarence Martin, George Martin, both of Cayce, Willie Edward Odum of Memphis, Tenn. and five grandchildren.
James Donoho Mitchell III
James Donoho “Donny” Mitchell III, 68, of Lamar, died Oct. 1, 2010, at St. Frances Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Ashland Baptist Church and a retired gasoline distributor.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Randy Crews and Rev. William Kemp officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Martha Mitchell; two daughters, Jessica “JJ” Tutor of Hattiesburg, Jamie Brigance of Lamar; a sister, Patricia Hamilton of Bryan, Tx.; and five grandchildren.
Harold Blake Palmer
Harold Blake Palmer, 76, of Waterford, died Oct. 4, 2010 at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. A member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, he was a conservation officer with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
Services will be held Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He leaves his wife Maxine Palmer; a son, Blake Palmer; a daughter, Lisa Looney, all of Waterford; two brothers, Edward Palmer of Collierville, Tenn., Billy Palmer of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters, Shirley Brouger of Brandon, Ella Quay Andin of Memphis, Tenn., Charlene Rogers of Columbia, Tenn., Annette Teague of Memphis; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ruedell Parker, 79, of Byhalia, died Sept. 30, 2010, at her home.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 2 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. Bro. Oscar Geeslin officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Clarence C. Parker; five daughters, Mary Lou Allen, Shirley Thompson, Ruby Smith, all of Byhalia, Virginia Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Evelyn Busby of Byhalia; two brothers, Robert Mills Jr., Lawrence Mills, both of Barton; two sisters, Maybell Parker of Byhalia, Mary “Susie” Brigance of Barton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Troy Allen; and a great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Morrow.
