Robert Perry Weatherall
Robert Perry Weatherall, 45, of Hickory Flat, died Jan. 7, 2009 in Hickory Flat. He was a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Potts Camp.
Memorial services were held at 12 noon on Jan. 24 at Hickory Flat School Gymnasium. Private graveside services for family were held at Reids Gift MB Church Cemetery in Potts Camp. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves three sons, Cruze Weatherall of New Albany, Andrew Culver of Blue Mountain, Colton Weatherall of Potts Camp; his mother, Catherine Walker Weatherall of Hickory Flat; two sisters, Clem Woods of Memphis, Tenn., Renee Weatherall of Hickory Flat; and a brother, James Andrew Weatherall of Hickory Flat.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Weatherall.
Minnie Irene Colston Bailey
Minnie Irene Colston Bailey, 91, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 13, 2009 at Christopher’s Personal Care Home. She was the widow of Moody Bailey and a member of First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
She leaves six children, Lewis Bailey, Ralph Bailey, Emmett Bailey, Moody E. Bailey, Lorene Foster and Gail Williams, all of Holly Springs; a brother, Danny Colston of Holly Springs; a sister, Mamie Lee Smith of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Catherine and Bradley.
Brodie Barksdale Sr.
Brodie Barksdale Sr., 80, formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 8, 2009 at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation. He was the widower of Alberta Sayles Barksdale. He was a former member of Jones Grove MB Church, where he served on the deacon board.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Rev. Paul Stevens officiated.
He leaves six daughters, Cora Stevenson, Rebecca Porter Dowdy, both of Holly Springs, Linda Faye Driver of Lakeland, Fla., Emma Jean Barksdale of Milwaukee, Mary Barksdale, Carla Wilson, both of Memphis, Tenn.; six sons, Brodie Barksdale Jr. of Oshkosh, Wisc., Robert Barksdale of Raleigh, N.C., Chester Leroy Barksdale, Jackie Wilson, Lawrence Barksdale, Willie James, all of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Agnes Ribinson of Encino, Calif., Anna Ribinson of Chicago, Ill.; 44 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Detroit and Henry Sr. and a sister, Jerlee Hubard.
George Nelson Beil
George Nelson Beil, 71, of Byhalia, died Nov. 9, 2009 at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He was the widower of Carol Ann Beil. He retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron Nuclear Co.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.
He leaves sons Kenneth Michael Beil of Cordova, Tenn., Robert Nelson Beil of Byhalia, Thomas Richard Beil of Olive Branch; brothers Paul Beil of Bakersfield, Calif., David Beil of Lake City, Fla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ralph Edward Bridges
Ralph Edward Bridges, 72, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 13, 2009 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn. He was a logger most of his life.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Bethany Baptist Church in Potts Camp. Bro. Donald Worsham officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves seven children, Roger Bridges, Coby Bridges, both of Potts Camp, Nancy Bridges of Pontotoc, Shelly Crow of Arkansas, Whitney Bridges of Walls, Brittney Bridges of Tate, Windy Lyles of Olive Branch; four brothers, James Cook of Potts Camp, Harvey Cook of Lamar, Jerry Cook of Hickory Flat, Michael Cook of Blue Mountain; a sister, Martha Bolden of Lamar; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth Pinkston Collins
Elizabeth Pinkston Collins, 99, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Holly Springs, died Oct. 13, 2009 at King’s Bridge Retirement Center. She was the widow of Arthur B. Collins Jr. She was a first and second grade teacher in Holly Springs.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery. At 3 p.m. all family, friends and former students are invited to return to the church fellowship hall for light refreshments and memories.
She leaves a son, Arthur B. Collins III of Dunwoody, Ga.; a daughter, Jane Ellen Callaham of Dunwoody, Ga; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Pinkston Collins.

Johnny Hightower Herring
Johnny Hightower Herring, 90, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 15, 2009 at Trinity Mission in Holly Springs. He was the widower of Miriam Augusta. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, an oil company laborer, a justice of the peace and an Army veteran.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Bro. John Prothro officiated.
He leaves a son, Danny Anderson of Hazelton, Pa.; five daughters, Sarah Allen, Virginia Feathers, Linda Yarbrough, Kathy Miller, Jennifer Holbrook, all of Holly Springs; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Daniel Holbrook, Scott Feathers, Tyler Miller, Grant Feathers, Clay Skelton, Rodney Pannell.
Marjorie Eugenia Holmes
Marjorie Eugenia Holmes, 76, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 15, 2009 at Trinity Mission.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 18 at New Harmony Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in Holmes Family Cemetery in Holly Springs. Bro. Mickey Hoyle, Bro. Jerry Wilson and Bro. Tommy Wilson officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Thruman Holmes; two sons, Jacky Holmes, Patrick Holmes, both of Holly Springs; a daughter, Theresa Cox of Ashland; a brother, Frances Nation of Montana; two sisters, Sylvia of Vicksburg, Kris of Hattiesburg; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sonny Holmes; grandson, Adam Holmes; great-granddaughter, Rachel Williams.
Pallbearers were Jacky Holmes Jr., Mark Holmes, Timothy Holmes, Chris Holmes, J.C. Holmes, Joseph Rhea, Danny Valasquez, Patrick Holmes, Carlos Ramierez and Kerry Williams.
