Artis Carra LeSueur, 48, of Jackson, died July 7, 2011, at West Jackson Hospital in Jackson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on July 14 at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial will be in the LeSueur Family Cemetery. Elder Albert Pass will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Annie Seal Martin LeSueur of Byhalia; four sisters, Melissa Hunt of Holly Springs, Maresa Alexander of Bolton, Michele LeSueur of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wilma Parker of Hinesville, Ga.; and two brothers, Frank LeSueur of Hinesville, Derrick LeSueur of Memphis, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doran LeSueur, Leonard LeSueur.
Michael Shawn Ramos
Michael Shawn Ramos, 43, of Ashland, died July 2, 2011, at Snow Lake. He was a Methodist and a carpenter.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on July 8 at Garland Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut, Ill. Burial was in Malden Cemetery in Malden, Ill. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his father, Richard Ramos of Malden; his mother, Lucille Ramos of Ashland; his son, Dakota Ramos of Ashland; and three sisters, Kimberly Sue Nealand, Brenda Jean Sloan, Michelle Dawn Rosenow, all of Princeton, Ill.
Oscar James Shinn
Oscar James Shinn, 84, of Victoria, died July 10, 2011, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 13 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Neil Jackson officiated. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on July 15 at Byhalia Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Emma Jean Shinn; two sons, Gary J. Shinn of Victoria, Charles F. Hughes of Lincoln, Ark.; a daughter, Diann Bearden of Elkins, Ark.; a sister, Bonnie Walker of Conway, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Wilson; and a grandson, John Vinson.
Wyatt Anderson Thomas
Wyatt Anderson Thomas, 93, of Michigan City, died July 9, 2011, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was the widower of Grace Sims Thomas, his wife of 49 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 7 p.m. on July 12 at Calvary Episcopal Church, where he was a member. Burial was in Valley Grove Cemetery in Michigan City. Rev. William Kemp, Rev. Dave Richie and the Rev. Bruce McMillan officiated.
He leaves a daughter, Susan Thomas James of Michigan City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Faulkenbery.
Homer Clyde Toles
Homer Clyde Toles, 77, of Abbeville, died July 5, 2011, at his daughter’s home in Abbeville. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red Banks and a retired self-employed carpenter.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on July 9 at Clear Creek MB Church in Oxford. Burial was in Yocona Cemetery in Taylor. Rev. Eddie Goliday officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves six daughters, Ann Pettis of Abbeville, Martha Telford of Water Valley, Catherine Mason, Rebecca Dowdy, Charlene Johnson, all of Holly Springs, Jeanette Lewis of Monroeville, Ala.; a son, Ray Toles of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Holly Springs, Ara Perry of Memphis; a brother, Brodis Toles Sr. of Taylor; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
John Allen Brown
John Allen Brown, 42, of Byhalia, died Nov. 8, 2011, at his home. He was a member of New Zion MB Church in Olive Branch.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13 at New Mt. Gilliam MB Church in Byhalia. Burial was in Botts Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Olive Branch. Dr. Loyal Featherstone officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a sister, Bobbie Brown Miller of Byhalia; and five brothers, James Brown of Olive Branch, Royzell Brown, Wayne Brown, Jerry Brown, Andre Brown, all of Byhalia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Brown.
Ruben Clifton Chrestman
Ruben Clifton Chrestman, 86, of Byhalia, previously of Memphis, Tenn., died Nov. 10, 2011. He was a former supervisor at the Hostess Bakery in Memphis, retiring in 1984 after 38 years of service.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Maples Memorial UMC in Olive Branch. Burial was in Memorial Park Southwoods in Memphis. Brantley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Leona (Dycus) Chrestman; his son, Paul Chrestman (Julia) of Byhalia; his daughter, Sharon Chrestman Stone (Jerry) of Lakeland, Tenn; brothers and sisters Jeanette Stallings, Mary Little, Charles Chrestman, Wayne Chrestman, Doug Chrestman, Donnie Chrestman, Richard Chrestman, Raymond Chrestman, Raiford Chrestman; four granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Les Chrestman.

Johnnie Mae Dodson
Johnnie Mae Dodson, 82, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 11, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of William Aubrey Dodson. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a beautician.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
She leaves two sons, James Steve Dodson, Wayne Dodson, both of Holly Springs; a daughter, Teresa Clements of Imboden, Ark.; a brother, Sam “Bo” Stafford of Southaven; a sister, Marie Rhea of Memphis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
