Leroy Dortch
Leroy Dortch, 58, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Hudsonville, died Nov. 13, 2011, at his home. He was disabled, and a former steel worker for Southern Fabrication.
Visitation will be held Nov. 18 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home and at the church on Nov. 19 from 1-1:55 p.m.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Hudsonville CME Church in Hudsonville, where he was a former member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elder Bobby G. Wilson will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Gloria A. Thompson Dortch; a daughter, Shonda Hoyle of Holly Springs; six sisters, Lurena Brown, Isola Isom, Queen Jones, Gloria Strickland, all of Memphis, LeAnna Jones and Essie P. Jones, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Timothy Dortch of West Covina, Calif., Robert Lee Dortch of Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Cedric DeWayne Dortch.
Dana Hancock
Dana K. Hancock Kyser, 36, of Lamar, formerly of Nettleton, died Nov. 9, 2011, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was a native of Nettleton but had resided in Benton County for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Nettleton. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. Ken White officiated.
She leaves her companion, Tracey Kyser of Lamar; her parents, Sheila Hood Grisham-Elliott and her fiance John Bourque of Tupelo, and David Hancock of Shannon; four daughters, Lindsay Hancock of Nettleton, Emma Hancock, Ericka Hancock, both of Lamar, Jaimie Churchill Hancock of the home; two stepdaughters, Amanda Barber (T.J.) of Red Banks, April Brooks (Chris) of Ashland; a stepson, Cody Kyser of the home; a sister, Brandy Grisham of Nettleton; two stepsisters, Kimberly Davis (Paul) of Olive Branch, Phyllis Gillespie (Brad) of Shannon; a stepbrother, Cody Hancock (Kayla) of Shannon; grandparents Dixie Hood, Hazel Harlow, both of Nettleton; and three stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her fiance, James Churchill; two grandfathers, Allen Hood, Jimmy Harlow; her stepmother, Laneice Hancock; and her stepfather, Ricky Grisham.
Pallbearers were T.J. Barber, Bruce Feathers, Matthew Feathers, Mark Feathers, Jonathan Dawkins, Myron Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ty and KK Grisham.
Joe Louis Hughes
Joe Louis Hughes, 63, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 4, 2011, at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. He was a member of Free Branch MB Church.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13 at Free Branch MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Joe Tunstall officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two children, Darphine Hughes of Holly Springs, Mary Frances Hughes of Rocky Mounty, N.C.; four sisters, Annie Jones, Lucy Boyd, Susie V. Vaughn, all of Holly Springs, Lillian Davis of Friendswood, Tx.; three brothers, Nathan Hughes, Jasper Hughes, both of Holly Springs, Joe Nathan Hughes of Milwaukee, Wisc.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Herman Ivy Sr.
Herman Ivy Sr., 83, of Memphis, Tenn., died Nov. 9, 2011.
Visitation will be Nov. 17, 5-7 p.m. at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, on Airways Blvd., in Memphis. Services will be held at 12 noon on Nov. 18 at St. Mark’s MB Church in Holly Springs.
He leaves his wife, Juanita Ivy; 12 children, Cecil Ivy of Oakland, Calif., Herman Ivy Jr., Shirley Kinkle Jones, Alfred Ivy, Marilyn Curry, Tina Selman, all of Holly Springs, Carey Ivy of Huntsville, Ala., Samuel Ivy of Memphis, Tenn., Naomi Flagg, Cynthinia Terry of Broken Arrow, Okla., Danny Ivy of Batesville; a sister and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erma Ivy.
William L. Munns
William L. Munns, 83, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 10, 2011, at Oxford Baptist Hospital. He was the widower of Evelyn Swain Munns, a member of Cornersville Baptist Church, a paint contractor and a veteran.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12 at Holly Springs funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Cornersville Cemetery.
He leaves three sons, David Munns of Cornersville, William A. Munns of Pickwick, Tenn., Ralph Munns of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Charles Albert Naylor
Charles Albert Naylor, 52, of Waterford, died Nov. 8, 2011, at his home. He was a member of True Bible Way Pentecostal Church and disabled.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Billy Williams officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves six sisters, Maxine Naylor of Waterford, Gabellar Hampton of Olive Branch, Wanda Poindexter, Linda Miller, Ruth Beaumont, all of Memphis, Tenn., Pearlie Williams of Madison; and two grandchildren.
Bernadene G. Reeder
Bernadene G. Reeder, 81, of Holly Springs, formerly of Germantown, Tenn., died Nov. 11, 2011, at her home. She was the widow of Claude A. Reeder. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn. She was a volunteer at the Raymond Skinner Handicap Center for many years. She was also a seamstress.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
She leaves two daughters, Patti R. Ross (Glen) of Bartlett, Tenn., Linda R. Stewart (Tom) of Holly Springs; and five grandchildren.

Agnes Roy
Agnes Roy, 70, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 8, 2011, at her home. She was the widow of Travis Dear Roy Sr. and a Baptist.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Hill Crest Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves five sons, Clifford Allen Roy of Scottsboro, Ala., Samuel Wilson Roy of Waterford, Travis D. Roy Jr., Terry D. Roy, both of Wallace, Timothy D. Roy of California; three daughters, Belinda Jean Gilmer, Pamela Rhea Spoon, Kimberly L. Haley, all of Holly Springs; two sisters, Mamie Jo Delk of Virginia, Etta Mae Cole of Holly Springs; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Phillip Haley, Larry Smith, Zack Haley and David Algee.
