Deborah Hawthorne, 55, of Myrtle, died Feb. 4, 2011, at Baptist Hospital Union County. She married David McDonald and later Preston Hawthorne.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Serenity Funeral Home, New Albany Chapel. Burial was in Ingomar Cemetery. Bro. Kenny Davis and Sis. Ann Moody officiated.
She leaves a son, Mark McDonald (Samantha); six sisters, Bettey Smith of Pontotoc, Ann Dillard (Jimmy), Kathy Cleveland, both of New Albany, Faye Derrick (Harold), Shirley Davis Johnson (John David) of Potts Camp, Arlene Colston (Kenny) of Holly Springs; stepmother, Ethel Jumper of Myrtle; and three grandchildren.
Earlene Glover LeSure
Earlene Glover LeSure, 98, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 3, 2011, at her home. She was the widow of Earnest LeSure Sr., a member of the church usher board and church mother’s board.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 12 at Hopewell No. 2 MB Church in Hudsonville, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Danny Kimbrough will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She leaves four sons, Earnest LeSure Jr., George Scales, both of Holly Springs, John Thomas LeSure of Memphis, Tenn., Willie Gene LeSure of Aurora, Ill.; three daughters, Eskerlene Ford of Memphis, Mary Sims, Nina Brice, both of Holly Springs; a sister, Carlean Cannon of Memphis; a brother, Dave Glover of Holly Springs; 42 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Dallas Kimbrough Marion
Dallas Kimbrough Marion, 90, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 4, 2011, at Alliance HealthCare System. She was the widow of Hubert Marion.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 12 at Hudsonville CME Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby Wilson will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She leaves five daughters, Asie Scales of Chicago, Ill., Earnestine Marion, Geraldine Glover, Rose Lumpkin, Korene Marion, all of Holly Springs; two sons, Robert Earl McKinney, Clifford Marion, both of Holly Springs; 41 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three children, Hubert Lee Marion Jr., Jacqueline Marion and Cecil Marion.
Maria Mercedes Rodriques Mora
Maria Mercedes Rodriques Mora, 68, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 2, 2011, at her home.
Burial was in San Sebastianito Cemetery in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mackey Bethel Rodgers
Mackey Bethel Rodgers, 70, of Byhalia, died Feb. 2, 2011, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a retired salesman with Parts Inc., an MA Booster Club member, an avid Ole Miss fan, loyal supporter of Marshall Academy athletics, a farmer, cattleman and enjoyed attending grandchildren’s activities.
Services were held at 12 noon on Feb. 5 at Emory Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Leon Burton and Bro. Bob McCustion officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Betty Rodgers; two sons, Steve Rodgers (Lisa) of Byhalia, Gary Rodgers (Shannon) of Middleton, Tenn.; a daughter, Susan Rodgers of Byhalia; a sister, Nancy Boren of Texas; and four grandchildren, Whitt Rodgers, Mallory Rodgers, Bailey Rodgers, Ava Rodgers.
Memorials may be made to Marshall Academy, Holly Springs.

J.D. “Bot” Rucker Sr., 88, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 31, 2011, at his home. He was the widower of Ruthie Jefferson Rucker and a retired laborer with Simpson Lumber Company.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, at Hopewell No. 1 MB Church, where he was a member. Burial was in Bowens Cemetery. Rev. Dwight Rucker officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves six daughters, Kathryn Rucker, Emma J. Greer, both of Holly Springs, Christine Rucker of Maywood, Ill., Dorothy R. Greer, Mamie L. Allen of Davenport, Iowa, Sarah Rucker Rogers of Milan, Ill.; two sons, J.D. Rucker Jr. of Otasco, Ill., Robert Rucker of Oxford; three sisters, Marion McAuley of Memphis, Annie Lou Howell of Chicago, Ill., Sarah Bean of Holly Springs; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mandy Edith Pryor Wilson
Mandy Edith Pryor Wilson, 88, of Waterford, died Feb. 1, 2011, at Baptist Hospital - DeSoto in Southaven. She was the widow of Reggie Wilson Sr., a member of Mt. Peel MB Church, a member of Sunrise Chapter #166 of the Eastern Star and Women Improvement Society.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Chulahoma MB Church. Burial was in the Mt. Peel Church Cemetery. Rev. Rondias Cox officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves 14 children, Gussie Talley, Mentha Miller, Annie Ruth Lucas, Deloris Dowsing, Lucatheryn Grant, Brenda Rogers, Kelvin Wilson, Martha Penilton, Dorothy LeSure, all of Holly Springs, Wesley Wilson of Huntsville, Ala., Reggie Wilson Jr. of Chicago, Ill., Leroy Wilson of Oxford, Essex Wilson of Olive Branch, Curtis Howell of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Nancy Hickman of Des Moines, Iowa, Bettie Thompson of Waterford; 49 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

John K. Byrd, 81, of Lamar, died Dec. 22, 2011, at Baptist Memphis Hospital. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was employed with Troxel Co.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 27 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in John K. Skelton Cemetery. Bro. Billy Adair and Bro. John Ed Watkins officiated.
He leaves his wife, Dollie Byrd; two sons, Dwight Byrd of Olive Branch, Troy Mason of Pontotoc; two daughters, Gail Byrd Wilson of Brighton, Tenn., Tammy Byrd Gilliam of Huntington, Tenn.; five brothers, Gene D. Byrd of Slayden, James L. Byrd, Charles Byrd, both of Lamar, Thomas Byrd of Collierville, Tenn., Larry Byrd of Iuka; two sisters, Virginia H. German, Connie Gammel, both of Somerville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
