Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 1 at New Hope MB Church in Laws Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Dooley officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Roberta Moering; four brothers, Melroy Humphrey of Waterford, Danny Moering, Ralph Moering, both of Holly Springs, Willie Moering Jr. of Oxford; three sisters, Delois Calicutt, Elizabeth Martin, both of Holly Springs and Charlotte Faye Moering of Birmingham, Ala.
Loyd Russell Overall
Loyd Russell Overall, 78, of Falkner, formerly of Holly Springs, died March 31, 2006 at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Holly Springs. He retired from Carrier with 29 years of service in the maintenance department. He served in the United States Army and Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Services were held at 4 p.m. on April 2 at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Bro. Harvey Scott and Bro. Jim Pope officiated.
He leaves his wife, Frances Skelton Overall; two daughters, Debi Overall of Kodak, Tenn., Dottie Gadd of Ripley; two brothers, Edward Overall, R.L. (JR) Overall, both of Potts Camp; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Charlie Skelton, Steve Skelton, Wayne Wilson, Ronnie Lewis, Rex Overall, Brandon Wilson, Jeff Rhea and Tommy Ash. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Overall, Bud Skelton, Billy Gene Overall and Tommy Maroney.
Ervin Lee Sesley
Ervin Lee Sesley, 66, of Byhalia, died March 28, 2006 at his home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a maintenance worker with Great Dane Trailers.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 1 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Pendilton officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Joyce Tipler Sesley; six children, Twoine Sesley, Rev. Ervin Sesley Jr., Bobby Myers, Dariel Jackson, David Jackson, all of Memphis, Tenn., LaTashia Bowles of Cayce; four sisters, Brenda Neal, Charlotte Neal, Julia Jones, Carolyn Schuler, all of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, William Myers of Walls, David Myers, Albert Myers, both of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Hatchett, Willie Miller, Lawrence Springfield, Joe Hughes, Bob Weaver and Perschall Woods.
Arlon Dwight Underwood
Arlon Dwight Underwood, 49, of Byhalia, died March 27, 2006 at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven. He was a Baptist and a carpenter.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 30 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Kimberly Gray Underwood; three daughters, Nicola Lynn Gray Underwood of Orlando, Fla., Rhonda Leigh Brown Underwood of Houston, Tx., Shaqula Norman Underwood of Byhalia; and four brothers, John Ed Murray of Memphis, Tenn., John Wayne Murray of Bullard, Tx., Van Allen Underwood, Byron Underwood, both of Byhalia.
Pallbearers were Jeff Johnson, John Johnson, John Looney, Cedric Johnson, Wayne Kimble and Marvin Abernathy.
Bob Williams Jr.
Bob Williams Jr., 65, of Waterford, died April 2, 2006 at his home. He was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and co-owner of Williams Garage.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on April 5 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Bettie Gail Williams; two sons, Scott Williams of Nesbitt, Greg Williams of Memphis; three daughters, Wendy Reece, Missy Cook, Christy Williams, all of Holly Springs; two brothers, Rick Williams of Holly Springs, Timmy Williams of Red Banks; four sisters, Roseanne Williams of Houston, Earlene Story of Meridian, Shirley Jones of Talladega, Ala., Margaret Boatwright of Lucedale; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Katina Larette Allen
Katina Larette Allen, 33, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Ashland, died April 2, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of Easthaven Church of Christ in Memphis and benefit administrator for Servicemaster Corporation in Memphis.
Services were held at 12 noon on April 8 at Foundation of Life Christian Center in Lamar. Burial was in South Ashland Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro. William J. Colburn officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her mother, Dorothy Bryson Allen of Michigan City; her sister, Ronnetta Mason of Olive Branch; and her grandfather, Jessie Bryson Sr. of Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Allen; and her grandmother, Tinnie Bryson;
Pallbearers were Landon Allen, Bobby Bryson, Rodney Bryson, Leon Crawford, Cedric Garmon, Winslow Isom, Adrian Jones and Silas Preston. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Baird, Jerry Bryson, Jessie Bryson Jr., Jimmy Bryson, Winston Isom and Jeffery Mason.
Robert Garland Gilstrap
Robert Garland Gilstrap, 74, of Holly Springs, died April 4, 2006 at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven. The widower of Helen Gilstrap, he was an executive with Southwestern Telephone AT&T. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was an Army veteran of Korea.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 8 at First United Methodist Church in Holly Springs, where he was a member. A private burial was held later. Rev. Milton Boyd officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Nita S. Gilstrap of Holly Springs; two sons, Robert H. Gilstrap of Hannibal, Mo., Brian R. Gilstrap of Webster Grove, Mo.; a stepson, Rick DeBardeleben of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Veronica Cook, Peggy Brown, both of St. Louis, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Suzanne Dunlap of Holly Springs, Julie DeBardeleben Cohen of Newburyport, Ma.; a brother, Bill Gilstrap of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Mary Morrison of Onsted, Mich.; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Gilstrap.
Boyce Blondale Graham
Boyce Blondale Graham, 68, of Harmontown, died April 2, 2006 at Tri Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
Memorial services were held at 12 noon on April 8 at New Hope Baptist Church in Harmontown, where he was a member. Burial was in New Garden Cemetery in Wakefield. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Boyce Blondale Graham Jr. of Kannapolis, N.C.; two daughters, Brandi Bertram of Byhalia, Anne-Marie Fiorino of Florida; a sister, Julia King of Coldwater; and eight grandchildren.
