Thomas C. Osborne
Thomas C. Osborne, 77, of Byhalia, died Nov. 15 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. He was with widower of Earline H. Osborne. He was retired from Sears and a Korean War Army veteran.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.
He leaves three daughters, Deborah L. Osborne of Byhalia, Carolyn Zachary of Memphis, Tenn., Rebecca Bartholomew of Rossville, Tenn.; a son, Thomas Michael Osborne of Milwaukee, Wisc.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Lester Street
Lester Street, 53, of Como, died Nov. 10, 2007 in Senatobia. He was a mechanic.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Chulahoma MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves seven daughters, Stacey Street, Latoria Street, both of Sardis, Stephanie Street, Tantinisha McGhee, both of Senatobia, Shawn Porter of Chicago, Ill., Luerissa Phillips, Terissa Phillips, both of Boston, Mass.; a son, Lester Street Jr. of Southaven; his mother, Mary L. Woods; four sisters, Susan Wilbourn of Senatobia, Mary Ann Carter of Como, Linda Kinard of Como, Mary Esther Anderson of Boston, Mass.; three brothers, Eddie Woods of Memphis, Tenn., Curtis Woods, Johnny C. Woods, both of Como; his grandfather, Sporty Humphrey; and 17 grandchildren.
Billy Joe Taylor
Billy Joe Taylor, 80, of Byhalia, died Nov. 12, 2007 in Memphis. He was a charter member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 15 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Burial was in the Byhalia Cemetery. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Ethel Parker Taylor; three sons, Larry Taylor of Olive Branch, Benny Taylor of Savannah, Tenn., Tommy Taylor of Ingram’s Mill; a sister, Frances Hart of Memphis; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the Meadowbrook Baptist Church youth fund.
Jessie James Wadley
Jessie James Wadley, 55, of Coldwater, died Nov. 12, 2007 in Jackson. He was a carpenter.
Services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 17 at Second Baptist MB Church in Coldwater. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home of Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a daughter, Coretta Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Andrae Wadley of Jackson, Nakia Green of Crystal Springs; a sister, Rosie Hayes of Coldwater; four brothers, J.C. Cosby of Aurora, Colo., John E. Wadley of Decatur, Ill., Curtis Wadley of Raymond, Leroy Wadley of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
Keith M. Walton
Keith M. Walton, 37, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 11, 2007 at Tchulahoma and Goodman Roads in Southaven. He was a truck driver, a 1993 graduate of Rust College, a member of Hopewell No. 1 MB Church in Holly Springs, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 339. He attended New Shelby MB Church in Collierville, Tenn.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 17 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium with burial in Bowens Cemetery in Holly Springs. Rev. Leroy James officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Kimberly Ann Keesee Walton; a daughter, Kendalyn Walton and a son, Kowin Walton, both of Memphis; his father, Kinnard Walton of Holly Springs; a sister, Bobbie Holmes of Memphis, Tenn.; and three brothers, Marvin Walton of Holly Springs, Bob Woods, Jeffery Walton, both of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Woods Walton.
Pallbearers were Walter Howell Jr., Rodney Redmond, Larry Payne, Terry Peace, Reggie Elliott, Trent Jones, Paul Avery, Remando Bowens and Derry Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Keesee, George Ford, Bob Woods, Jeffrey Walton, Keith Carter, Shawn Morgan, Herbert Walton, Johnny Simmons, Derrick Perry, Tim Woods, Dewitt Walton, Robert Walton, Joel Smith and Willie Stewart.
Sherry Davis Wingo
Sherry Davis Wingo, 62, of Collierville, Tenn., died Nov. 17, 2007 in Memphis, Tenn. She was founder and longtime owner of Sherry’s Hallmark in Collierville.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20 at the Church of the Holy Apostles. Collierville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, Tuner (T) Wingo, two daughters, Anne and Mette Holstad of Norway; her father, Frank Davis Jr., and a sister, Sandra DeVore of Barton.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Nettie Mae Holloway Wiseman
Nettie Mae Holloway Wiseman, 62, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 13, 2007 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was a member of Strawberry MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member of the Missionary Society and secretary for the children’s choir. She was a housekeeper for Hurdle Real Estate.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 17 at Strawberry MB Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Willie Jeffries officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, James Eddie Wiseman; a son, Michael Holloway of Holly Springs; a stepson, James Wiseman Jr. of Holly Springs; three sisters, Magnolia Malone, Mary Lee Lawrence, Mae Ella Lawrence, all of Holly Springs; four brothers, Oscar Holloway of Holly Springs, Darnell Holloway, George Edward Holloway and Johnny Ricky Holloway, all of Holly Springs; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Holloway.
Pallbearers were Chester Wiseman Jr., Matthew Lawrence, Kent Malone, John Ricky Shaw, John Lawrence, Dewayne Holloway, Frederick Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Holloway, Donnell Holloway, Johnny Rickey Holloway, Chester Wiseman, Willie Wiseman and George Holloway.
Martha Shelton Davault
Martha Shelton Davault, 84, of Byhalia, died July 8, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Dowell (Burger) Davault and a Baptist.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 10 at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Ripley. Rev. Danny Rushing officiated. Mike Jones delivered the eulogy.
She leaves two daughters, Charlotte Davault, Peggy Curtis, both of Byhalia; two sisters, Nora Valachovic of Johnstown, NY, Olgie Herman of Billings, Mt.; two brothers, John E. Shelton of Memphis, Tenn., Duade Shelton of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Ketchum, Mary Hammers; and four brothers, Kyle, Billy Joe, Neal and Loyd Shelton.
Pallbearers were Tony Curtis, Wesley Reed, Elmer Lee Ketchum, Murry Shelton, Michael Walker, Robert Shelton. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Hunter, Fred Ketchum, Mike Jones, Oneil Clark.
