Waverly T. Eason, 68, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Byhalia, died March 24, 2005 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was an auto mechanic.
Services were held at 12 noon on April 2 at Parkway Village Church of Christ in Memphis. Burial was in Robert Chapel Church Cemetery in Coldwater. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Mary Ellen Wooten Eason; three daughters, Carolyn Burgess of Harvey, Ill., Marchelle McCoach of Memphis, Tenn., Colette Ladd of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Eason, Corey Eason, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Emma Faulkner, Violet Garner, both of Memphis, Remel Warren of Bolton, Ill.; three brothers, Sidney Eason of Chicago, Ill., Tom Eason of Kansas City, Kan., Matthew D. House of Coldwater; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Clarice Eugenia Gray Floyd
Clarice Eugenia Gray Floyd, 89, of New Albany, died March 28, 2005 at her home. She was a Baptist.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on April 2 at Cornersville Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three sons, Ronald E. Floyd of Slayden, Kenneth Doyle Floyd of Ft. Myers, Fla., Hubert Raymond Floyd of Duncan, Okla.; two brothers, William Ivy Gray of Savannah, Tenn., Arnold Gray of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Wilma Rhea of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
William Alvin Harris
William Alvin (Dubbye) Harris, 64, of Waterford, died March 30, 2005 at home. He was a Pentecostal and a self-employed truck driver.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 1 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.
He leaves his wife, Mary Harris; three sons, William Andrew Harris of Waterford, Gregory Dale Harris of Myrtle, Willie Alvin Harris of Waterford; two daughters, Debbye Jean Harris of Sarasota, Fla., Penny Harris Rikard of Waterford; two sisters, Stella Buchanan of Millington, Tenn., Louise Gower of Heber Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Aaron Kimery, Joey Kimery, Jerry Lumpkin, Terry Bryant, James Bryant, Gene Umbarger.
Evelyn Howell Hudson
Evelyn Howell Hudson, 90, of West Memphis, Ark., formerly of Potts Camp, died March 27, 2005 at Broadway Health Care Center in West Memphis. She was the widow of Green Hudson, a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Potts Camp, a former church secretary and treasurer, and a retired domestic worker in private homes.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 2 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial was in St. Mary’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. James Hudson and Rev. Eddie Ford officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, James (Jack) Hudson of Marion, Ark.; and two granddaughters, Erika Hudson Singleton of Charlotte, N.C., Rika Hudson of Marion, Ark.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Senior Airman Bryant Hudson.
Dora Jones
Dora Jones, 48, of Red Banks, died March 30, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 6 at Mt. Newell M.B. Church in Red Banks. Burial was in Greater Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Red Banks. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Jodie Jones Jr.; six children, Sammie I. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Debra Westbrook, Teresa Smith, both of Byhalia, Vernola Campbell of Red Banks, Robert Smith, LeMonica Campbell of Holly Springs; six brothers, Sammie E. Smith, Larry Smith, Archie Belford, Charles Reliford, all of Memphis, Tenn., Bobbie Lee Smith, David Samuel Smith Jr., both of Victoria; seven sisters, Janie Webb of Barton, Azzie Lee Norman of New Jersey, Diann Freeman of Holly Springs, Alberta Jones, Stella Honer, Annie Mae Hill, Joe Ann Walker, all of Red Banks; and 18 grandchildren.

La Damion Lipford, seven months, of New Albany, died March 29, 2005 at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Graveside services were held at 11 p.m. on April 1 at Oak Grove M.B. Church Cemetery in New Albany. Rev. David High officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his parents, Ed Brown, Connie Lipford, both of Tupelo; two brothers, Laderrius and Naketha Lipford, both of Tupelo; grandparents, Walter and Myra Shields, Jerone and Cindy Howard and Eunice Lipford, all of Tupelo; great-grandparents, Velma Anderson of New Albany, Willie Mae Frieson, and Nick Shields, both of Tupelo.
Garland Lee Luther
Garland Lee Luther, 54, of Oxford, died April 1, 2005 at his home. He was a disabled U.S. Navy veteran and a former member of First Christian Church in Water Valley.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on April 4 at Latham Funeral Home Chapel in Water Valley. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Rev. David Freeman officiated.
He leaves his wife, Peggy Ann Luther; a daughter, Megan Smith of Oxford; a stepdaughter, Jamie Simpson of Marion, Ill.; three brothers, Ronnie Luther of Holly Springs, Ricky Luther of Horn Lake, Jessie Luther of Saltillo; and two grandchildren.
Edward J. Mays
Edward J. Mays, 83, of Chicago Heights, Ill., formerly of Victoria, died March 28, 2005 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Services were held at 12 noon on April 4 at Newell Chapel CME Church in Victoria, where he was a former member. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves five sisters, Lenorah Brown of Byhalia, Lillie Parker of Memphis, Tenn., Almazine Jones of Detroit, Mich., Sarah Reed of Victoria, Maxine Hearn of Victoria; and four brothers, Percy Mays, Roy Mays, Willie Mays, all of Victoria, Boyce Mays of Chicago Heights.
Pallbearers were Harry Moore, Stratton Moore, Cleveland Reed, Elvis Mays, Steve Reed, James Hull, and Robert Reed. Honorary pallbearers were Boyce Mays, Royce Mays, Percy Mays, Willie Mays.
Dorothy S. Moulton
Dorothy S. Moulton, 86, of Byhalia, died April 3, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. She was a bookkeeper (CPA).
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 8 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch. A private burial was held. Bartlett Funeral Home in Bartlett, Tenn. was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a daughter, Suzanne Moulton of Byhalia; a son, John Moulton of Wyoming; a brother, Robert Herr of Atoka, Tenn.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
