LAMBERT - Mr. Fred Claitor Bailey, 82, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in Lambert.
Mr. Bailey was born June 18, 1917, in Zama and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Crowder Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Will and Agnes Heflin Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Osborn Bailey of Lambert; a daughter, Katherine B. Bradford of Gulfport; three sons, Fred Bailey Jr. of Lambert and Glenn Bailey and Van Bailey, both of Batesville; three sisters, Myrle Barrows of Fair Oaks, Calif., Myrtis Womble of Clarksdale and Ruth Reans of Sledge; a brother, Malcolm Bailey Sr. of Lambert; and seven grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Crowder Baptist Church with burial in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville is in charge of arrangements.

BILOXI - Norman Forehand, 93, of Biloxi, died Friday, May 5, 2000, in Biloxi.
Our Special Daddy, Norman Forehand, Born 1906, on a very special day, 25th of December, left this earth to go to his heavenly home on May 5, 2000, age 93.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Henrietta Graham Forehand; his father, Julius Forehand; mother, Sabra Dobson Forehand; brothers, John Lenord, Eldridge, E.W. "Bud" Forehand; sisters, Annie Simmons, Pearl Slade, Alice Shoemaker, Ruth Kriss, Martha "Sis" Trealor, Dora McQueen; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, all of Biloxi.
He is survived by his son, Earl Forehand, and grandsons, Joe and his wife, Tammy, and William Forehand; daughter Earlean and son-in-law, Grant Scarborough; grandchildren, Dr. Norman A. Scarborough of Clarksville, TN, Michael and his wife, Janet Scarborough, and stepsons of North Biloxi, and Janet Mercer of Winter Fall, Fla.; one sister, Leona Wright of Brookville, Indiana; a bushel of nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.
He is a member of the Ramsey Creek Baptist Church. His employment was at the old Biloxi Canning Company where he was a fisherman and oysterman, pulpwood cutter and a bridge tender on the old D'Iberville Bridge where he retired. When asked what his hobby was, he said "work."

Mr. Ladner was a native of Barth and a lifelong resident of the Coast. He was retired as the director of Parks and Recreation for the city of Gulfport. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tunas P. and Lillian Necaise Ladner; and two brothers, Lamar Ladner and Chester Ladner.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas D. "Tommy" Ladner of Mandeville, La., and James Ronald Ladner of Gulfport; a brother, Theron Ladner of the Rocky Hill Community; three sisters, Mary Katherine Green of Gulfport, Yvonne Killegrew of Long Beach and Jean Necaise of the White Cypress Community; a longtime companion, Carol Pitts of Gulfport; and two grandchildren.

GULFPORT - Vera Roberts Lyons died peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2000, following a lengthy illness.
She was predeceased in 1999 by her devoted husband of fifty-four years, Robert Marcus Lyons, and is survived by her beloved four children, Judith Lyons of Long Beach, Dianne Lyons Dove of Houston, TX, Phyllis Evans Sweeney of Westport, MA, Phineas Derryl Evans of Huntsville, AL, and two sons-in-law, James J. Sweeney of Westport, MA and Roy E. Dove of Houston, TX. She is survived by four grandchildren, Cathleen Stepchuck of Northport, AL, Lesley Sweeney of Merano, Italy, Allyson Sweeney of Boston, MA, and Bryan Dove of Austin, TX, and three great-granddaughters, Anna, Sara Beth and Courtenaye Olivia Stepchuck of Northport, AL.
She is also survived by three brothers, Paul E. Roberts, Wilburn Roberts and Boyd Roberts, all residing in Biloxi, and three sisters, Jane Hurlbert of Gulfport, Clara Graves of Biloxi and Betty Mosley of Birmingham, AL.
She was born in the Success Community on November 21,1914, the first child of Hubert Garner Roberts and Iduma Gill Roberts. She attended school in Success and later worked in the Keesler AFB Library and Tech Order Department where she met and later married Robert Lyons in 1945. She spent the rest of her life in devotion to her husband and children, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2000, at Riemann Funeral Home, 1718 25th Avenue, Gulfport. A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Coalville Cemetery.

LONG BEACH - Rev. Walter McCraw, 82, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in Gulfport.
Rev. McCraw was a longtime resident of Philadelphia, Miss., and had been a resident of the Coast for 42 years. He was the former pastor of Northward Baptist Church in Gulfport and formerly pastored churches in Philadelphia and Jones County. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and attended seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Edith Walter McCraw; and a brother, A.B. McCraw Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Lee McCraw of Long Beach.
Visitation was held Sunday at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport. A service will be at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. in Sandtown Cemetery in Philadelphia, Miss.

GULFPORT - Joseph C. "J.C." Necaise, 70, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Necaise was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lizana, the Woodmen of the World and the Knights of Columbus in Lizana.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Philman Necaise and Byron Necaise; a daughter, Evelina Necaise Helton; his parents, Lembise "Frank" and Elvena Cuevas Necaise; a brother, Bobby Necaise; and three sisters, Viellia Ladner, Florentina Edwards and Elyslee Necaise.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Necaise of Gulfport; four daughters, Pauline Blackwell and Patricia Allen, both of Gulfport, Becky Necaise and Aileen Cuevas, both of Kiln; a brother, Marvin Necaise of Pass Christian; two sisters, Verna Mae Ladner of Pass Christian and Barbara Ann Cuevas of Kiln; a stepsister, Helen Ladner of Pass Christian; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchil- dren.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Amelia C. O'Keefe, 95, of Washington, D.C., died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. O'Keefe was married to the late General John A. O'Keefe, who was the former mayor of Biloxi and Adjutant General for the State of Mississippi. She was the former queen of Les Masque Carnival Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, General John A. O'Keefe.

D'IBERVILLE - Jefferson Davis "JD" Burton, 71, of D'Iberville, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Burton was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Coast and a resident of D'Iberville for over 43 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Burton was a carpenter and a construction worker.
Mr. Burton was a loving husband, father, "Pa Pa" and brother. "JD" had a very caring and generous heart. He loved to fish and be outdoors. "JD" always had many stories and memories to share with his family and friends. He touched many lives while he was with us and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Caleb and Maggie Ladnier Burton; a daughter, Lili Marlene Burton; three sisters, Bernice Gingerella, Margie Burton and Annie Burton; and two brothers, Clyde Burton and Joseph "Buddy" Burton.

GAUTIER - Linda Kay Patton Fraiser, 46, of Gautier, died Sunday, June 4, 2000 at her residence.
She was born June 18, 1953, in Gulfport. Mrs. Fraiser was a teacher for 23 years having taught at Singing River Elementary and Jackson Elementary. She received a Master's degree in elementary education at the University of South Alabama, a Bachelor's degree in elementary education at Delta State University, and an Administration Specialty degree at the University of South Alabama. Linda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Patton.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, James A. "Jim" Fraiser Jr. of Gautier; her mother, Sylvia E. Patton of Bay St. Louis; a son and daughter, James Anderson "Jay" Fraiser III and Catherine Anne "Cae" Fraiser, both of Gautier; three sisters and three brothers, Patsy Ellis of Bay St. Louis, Carolyn Smith of Jackson, Diane Patton of Bay St. Louis, Edward Patton of the Dedeaux Community, Edwin Patton and Danny Patton, both of Bay St. Louis; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Futtrell Fraiser of Brandon.

GULFPORT - Retired Navy SMC Donald Ray Greer, 65, died Friday, June 2, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Greer was born in Glomawr, Ky., and was retired from the Navy, serving in the Korean conflict and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a bachelor of science degree in history and a graduate of William Carey College where he received a master's degree in education. He owned and operated Universal Motors in Gulfport for 12 years and was a teacher at Phillips Junior College for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Rebecca Campbell Greer; a brother, Patrick Charles Greer; and a sister, Barbara Greer Lucas.
Survivors include his wife, Deronda "Dee" Greer of Gulfport; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Barker of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Donald R. BILOXI - Maurice O. Jones, 62, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Jones was born in Washington Parrish, La., and had been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1947. He was a graduate of St. John High School in Gulfport and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He was an Army veteran who served during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of the management team of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for 17 years. He had been a real estate broker on the Gulf Coast for the past 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Nettie Jones; and a brother, James Jones.
Survivors include two sisters, Johnnie Sue Holcomb of Pensacola, and Patricia Ann Gilly of Clinton; and two brothers, John Paul Jones and Joseph Marvin Jones, both of Long Beach.

BILOXI - Modez Marie Montgomery, 72, of Biloxi, died Friday, June 2, 2000, in Biloxi.
Born in Biloxi, June 10, 1927, her family moved to Shreveport, LA, where she attended grammar school until returning to Biloxi where she graduated from Lopez Grammar School. She was a 1945 graduate of Biloxi High School. She attended Perkinston Junior College, Miller-Hawkins Business College, Memphis, TN, and the University of Maryland. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Mrs. Montgomery held several high level positions with the Department of Defense including administrative assistant in the office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Eugene M. Zuckert, The Pentagon. When the Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT) was established by an act of Congress in March 1963, she was chosen as administrative assistant in the office of Dr. Joseph V. Charyk, President of COMSAT. COMSAT launched the world's first commercial communication satellite, "Early Bird," on 8 April 1965. She also served as Secretary and Administrative Assistant in the Office of Special Assistant for Internal Affairs to President Lyndon B. Johnson, The White House.
Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Jack B. Montgomery, USAF; a son, Leonard George Sella Jr.; her parents, Mr. George W. Williams and Mrs. Mabel Shonevich Williams; and a sister, George Ann Williams Kinney.
She is survived by a son, Christopher D. Sella of Biloxi and Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter, Shirley Christine Sella Retter of Denver, CO; a sister, Mable L. Williams of Gautier; a nephew, Michael Williams Kinney of Jackson; a niece, Linda Marie King of Houston, Texas; and a niece, Anne L. Stein of Jackson.

BILOXI - Bobbye Marie Barlow, 61, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Barlow was a native of McKenzie, Ala., and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1964. She was a graduate of McKenzie High School and a member of Handsboro Chapter No. 374 O.E.S. She was retired from civil service at Keesler Air Force Base, where she was a secretary in the 335th Training Squadron.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Douglas Barlow; four daughters, Patty Kingery of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joyce Siegler of DeQuincy, La., Sherry Dail of Omaha, Neb., and Allison Barlow of Biloxi; a brother, Morris C. Seamans of Nuevo, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. A service will be at 12:15 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.

PASS CHRISTIAN - Clifton "Cliff" R. Bazzell, 75, of Pass Christian, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Bazzell was a native of Grovehill, AL, and a longtime Gulf Coast resident. He attended school in St. Andrews, FL, and was a retired diesel mechanic for McDermott Inc. He was an avid fisherman and was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Bazzell; and three sisters, Naomi Anderson, Birdie Anderson and Ruby Floyd.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Bazzell of Pineville; two sons, Richard E. Bazzell and his wife, Margaret of Pineville and Douglas P. Bazzell and his wife, Beverly of Woolmarket; a daughter, Connie Bazzell Morgan and her husband, Keith of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Cecil R. Bazzell of Pass Christian, Charles L. Bazzell and Arthur T. Bazzell, both of Panama City, FL; a sister, Ruth Farmer of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Martino was a native and lifelong resident of the Coast. He was the former owner of Tony's Grocery and Market in Biloxi and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II and was a former employee of Harrison County at Beat 1 Barn.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bernadine Martino; his parents, A.J. Martino Sr. and Lillie Hightower Martino; three sisters, Lena Meyers, Lucy Lyons and Clare Shankland; and four brothers, George Martino, Arnold Martino, Eugene Martino and Ralph Martino.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred B. Martino of D'Iberville; three daughters, Leanora Franovich of Pascagoula, Marilyn Gilbert of Biloxi and Janice Martino of D'Iberville; two sons, A. J.
