BILOXI - Gerald G. Aichele Sr., 77, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mr. Aichele was a native of St. Paul, Minn., and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1984. He was a graduate of Harding High School in St. Paul and served in the Navy during World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam Conflict. He was a self-employed building contractor and had retired from the Parks and Recreation Department of St. Paul. Mr. Aichele was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Strobel Aichele of Biloxi; four sons, G. George Aichele Jr. of Biloxi, Gary F. Aichele of California, Gregory P. Aichele of Winona, Minn., and Gordon E. Aichele of St. Paul; two daughters, Lucy C. Elverum of Anchorage, Alaska, and Nancy K. Waller of Glen Cove, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Biloxi National Cemetery. Riemann Funeral Home, Beauvoir Road in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

Katrina Nichols Cockrell
COLUMBUS, Miss. - Mrs. Katrina Nichols Cockrell, 67, died Tuesday, February 9, 1999, in Columbus.
Mrs. Cockrell was a retired teacher of the Columbus School District for 30 years.
Her father was the late Professor Elijah Nichols of Decater, Miss., and brother to the late Professor M.F. Nichols Sr. of Biloxi.
Survivors include her husband, Travis Cockrell; a daughter, Elisha Cockrell, both of Columbus; and first cousin, Gwendolyn Nichols de Marks of Biloxi.
Services were held Sunday, February 14, 1999, at Stephenson Chapel in Columbus.

LONG BEACH - Timothy Cameron Favre, 6, died Saturday, February 13, 1999, in Gulfport.
Timothy was a native of Gulfport and had been a resident of Long Beach. He was of the Mormon faith. He was a first-grade student in Ms. Scarborough's class, Pineville Elementary School in Pass Christian. He was a member of the Pineville Panthers basketball team, Long Beach Rookie League baseball team and the Sharks soccer team in Long Beach. Timothy attended the Long Beach YMCA and was a member of the swim team. He was an Honor Roll Student and was voted by his classmates as the first-grade Valentine king.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Billy and Melissa (Honey) Rester Favre of Long Beach; his mother, Susan Renee' Prestridge Spiers of Picayune; his maternal grandparents, Joy B. Prestridge of Phoenix, and the late George Earl Prestridge; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford J. Favre of Long Beach; and step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack, (Mr. Poppy) Rester of Long Beach.
A visitation will be held today, Tuesday, February 16, 1999, at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, where friends may call after 7 p.m.

OCEAN SPRINGS - Mr. Rupert William Fox, 60, of the Latimer Community, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Latimer.
Mr. Fox was born in Biloxi and had been a lifelong resident of the Latimer Community. He was a self-employed construction worker. He was a heavy-equipment operator with the Mississippi National Golf Course and was a member of the Latimer House of Prayer Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Fox; and two brothers, John Fox and Alvin Fox.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Fox; a daughter, Sharon Fox; a son, Daniel Fox; two sisters, Emma Tanner and Mary Hilderbrand; three brothers, Lester Fox, Roland Fox and Glenn Fox, all of Latimer; and a grandchild.

BILOXI - Obert W. "Obie" Huffman, 60, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Huffman retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service and was currently a Civil Service employee at Keesler AFB. He was named Instructor of the Year in 1989. He served as president of the Mississippi Numismatic Association and was a member of the Gem and Mineral Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Loreda Huffman.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Huffman; a daughter, Angela Bull; a son, Steven Huffman; two brothers, Arnold E. Huffman of Sissonville, W.Va., and Bruce W. Huffman of Morgantown, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Papale was a native of Seattle and had been a resident of the Coast since 1959. She worked for Austin Dress Shop in Biloxi for many years. She had been a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi since 1970 and was retired after serving as church secretary for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur L. Papale.

PERKINSTON - Elizabeth "Granny" Poole died a peaceful death in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Ken Stinnett, on Sunday, April 25, at Perkinston, MS.
She was a native of Pearl River County, but resided in Gulfport for most of her life. She was a retired LPN from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. She was a member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church at Perkinston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Poole; a son, Robert Thomas Poole Jr.; parents, S.T. Smith and Sally Shaw Smith; brothers, David Smith, Dock Smith, and Namie Smith; sisters, Jane Toombs, Annie Peterson, Fannie Cuevas, Addie Burleson and Miranda Cuevas.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Howard and Mary Poole of Mesquite, TX, and Joe and Debbie Poole of Pascagoula; three daughters and their husbands, Helen and Kenneth Stinnett of Perkinston, Nancy and Paul Stinnett of Gulfport, and Alice and Lewis Harvey of Saucier; seventeen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Also left behind are many nieces, nephews, "Aunt Lib," friends and innumerable others whose lives she touched during her caregiving years on this earth.
Visitation was held Monday, April 26, at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport. Services will be conducted today, Tuesday, April 27, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial in the Steep Hollow Cemetery in Pearl River County.
She will be sadly missed but so lovingly remembered by all.

GULFPORT - Norman Kemmer, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Ackerman.
Mr. Kemmer was a native of Crossville, Tenn., and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for 42 years. He was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a brick mason. He was a member of the Wild Boar Conservation Association and the N.R.A.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Kemmer.

BILOXI - Ruby Gollott Kinsey, 83, of Biloxi, went home to be with her Lord on her birthday, Sunday, February 27, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Kinsey was born in Biloxi where she remained a lifelong resident. She was a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armond and Bell Gollott; and four brothers, Joseph Gollott, Carroll Gollott, James Gollott and Edgar Gollott.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Chester A. Kinsey of Biloxi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Kinsey and Danny and Celeste Kinsey, all of D'Iberville; a brother, Dan Gollott of Biloxi; six grandchildren, David Kinsey, Darren Kinsey, Shannon Edmonson, Kathy Dunkin, Brenda Halsted, and Charlotte Moore; and 12 great-grandchildren with one due in April and one great-great-grandchild due in September.

DIAMONDHEAD - Mr. Oscar F. "Frank" Kresse, 84, born September 24, 1915, in Bellville, IL, died Sunday February 27, 2000, in Diamondhead.
Mr. Kresse enjoyed an illustrious career in aviation beginning with his first airplane ride with Charles Lindbergh. He spent most of his young life in the St. Louis area where his father Frank, now deceased, was a well-known architect.
Mr. Kresse attended the University of Illinois and Tri-State in Indiana where he finished and got his degree in aeronautical engineering. He began his career with Curtis Wright during the years of World War II. He moved on to be a design engineer with Goodyear where the "lighter than air" project produced the famous "blimp." In the late fifties, Frank joined the Boeing Company and worked on both the "Saturn" and "Apollo" projects. He truly believed in the space program and was thrilled and proud to have been part of "putting a man on the moon."
Mr. Kresse was a member of "Quiet Birdmen," the "Association for Retired Pilots," and the Martin Marietta Skeet Club. He was a licensed engineer in both Kansas and Louisiana. He was a member and elder of the Diamondhead Community Church.
Mr. Kresse is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother: Frank, Caroline, and Charles, respectively.
Mr. Kresse is survived by his adoring wife, Olive, with whom he celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary December 2, 1999.
Mr. Kresse is also survived by his four loving children: Marcia Dover of Longview, TX; Paula Lopez of Abita Springs, LA, Robert Kresse of Picayune; and Jo Kresse-Bouldin of Arlington, VA.
Mr. Kresse is additionally survived by his loving grandchildren: Megan and Ashley Dover, Marc and Dana Lopez and Lilly and Kyla Bouldin.
It was Mr. Kresse's wish that his body be donated to the University of Mississippi in Jackson.
Memorial services will be held today, Tuesday, February 29, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Diamondhead Community Church with a reception following the services. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Library Foundation of Hancock County, Inc., 312 Highway 90, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520 or to the Hancock County Food Pantry.

NORTH BILOXI - Anthony "Tony" Lepoma, 79, of North Biloxi, died Sunday, February 27, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Lepoma was a native and lifelong resident of North Biloxi and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman known on the oyster reefs and shrimping channels from Pascagoula to Bay St. Louis. Mr. Lepoma retired as a salesman with Ocean Springs Coca-Cola Company after 28 years of service. Later he served as a Steward with Local 991 Mobile, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, AFL-CIO. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony Lepoma and Theresa Cannette Fountain.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Rosemary Ames Lepoma of North Biloxi; three sons, Jerry A. Lepoma and his wife, Diane Parker Lepoma of Woolmarket, Edward J. Mr. Martin was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Hammond, La., and was a longtime resident of Pascagoula. He was a graduate of Jackson County Community College and attended Louisiana State University. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula and was a retired major in the Jackson County Civil Air Patrol. He was the former owner of Economy Grocery in Pascagoula and was the manager of Food Town Supermarkets in Moss Point. He retired from Litton Industries after 21 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores W. Martin; a grandson, Patrick Martin Comer; his parents, Fred Knox and Clara Watts Martin; three brothers, Fred Martin, Le Roy Martin and Joe Martin, and a sister, Bessie Robertson.
Survivors include a son, Claude Donald Martin of Darien, Conn.; a daughter, Lori Comer of Booneville, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
