HERNANDO - Lona LaDale Harrison Bramlett, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at her home in Hernando. She was a homemaker and a member of Grays Creek Baptist Church in Hernando.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando. Burial will be in Grays Creek Cemetery in Hernando.
Survivors include her husband, Walter M. Bramlett of Hernando; four daughters, Linda Garrett, Diane King and Kathie Perry, all of Hernando, and Jeannie Gentry of Como; a sister, Janie Bryant of Aberdeen; five brothers, Laderl Harrison of Roswell, N.M., Altas Harrison of Ypsilanti, Mich., Charles Harrison of Belleville, Mich., Borlin Harrison of Clarksdale and Gene Harrison of Clarksville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Annie Simmons
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Annie Vivian "Benny" Kornegay Simmons died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. She was born Sept. 19, 1911, in West Point to the late Henry Jackson Kornegay and the late Harriet McFadden Kornegay. She married Leonard M. "Mike" Simmons on Dec. 23, 1933, in West Point; he preceded her in death. She attended Mississippi State College for Women. She and her family lived in Alexandria, La., for more than 30 years. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband as an art dealer. After retiring, they moved to West Point. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Point.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Robinson Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with the Rev. Russell Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Leonard M. Simmons Jr. of Aspen, Colo., and Rio Verde, Ariz.; two daughters, Ann Rager of Charlotte, N.C., and M.J. Simmons of Leicester, N.C.; a brother, Henry Jackson Kornegay of Billings, Mont.; a sister, Mary K. Thornton of West Point; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Paul Crider
CORINTH - Paul Everett Crider, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a county employee for 17 1/2 years and a Baptist. He loved his family and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Old Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Burnsville with Bro. Allen Osborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lois Evelyn Crider of Corinth; a son, Aaron Crider of Corinth; two daughters, Clara Crider Grimes and her husband, Steve, of Corinth, and Kathleen Robinson and her husband, Rex, of Saltillo, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Sandy Dickerson of Savannah, Tenn., and Tabitha Montgomery, Jamey Hendricks and Stephen Grimes, all of Corinth; a great-grandson, Tanner Montgomery of Corinth; three sisters, Lorene Arnold, and Jean Lard and her husband, Louis, all of Iuka, and Ruth Smith of Florence, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Crider; his mother, Mason Millford Crider; and a sister, Mae Walker.

MEMPHIS - Vernon Wade Reed, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Blytheville Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Magness, Ark., to T.W. Hulsey and Etta McDonald Hulsey. She was a Methodist and a homemaker. She was the widow of Walter R. Reed.

CALEDONIA - James Curtis Young, 73, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at his home in Caledonia. He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in New Albany to the late Jim Goodman and Trudy Bennett Young. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Mississippi University for Women maintenance department after 20 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus with the Rev. Don Harding officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Columbus with full military honors.

WEST POINT - June Beard Glusenkamp, 63, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. She was a native of Macon, and the daughter of the late Samuel Arnett Beard and Frances Wilkes Beard. She married George Glusenkamp on April 24, 1960. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation and the UDC.

He later was a private business owner. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of Biggersville Pentecostal Church. He loved his family and friends.

He was a foreman in pipeline construction and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a longtime cattle farmer, and a member and worker at Beulah Baptist Church. He was a respected father.

PONTOTOC - Myrtle Rodgers Grissom, 96, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Windham House in Ecru. She was born Nov. 21, 1906, in Pontotoc County to Joseph J. and Willie Dale Woods Rodgers. She married Mitchell V. Grissom in 1961. She received a B.S. degree in elementary education from Mississippi University for Women, and taught at Beckham and Pontotoc Elementary Schools before retiring from Saltillo Elementary School. She operated the City Cafe in Pontotoc for many years and worked as a chemist at the Munitions Factory in Prairie during World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pontotoc, the MUW Alumni Association and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and her Sunday school class.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Pontotoc City Cemetery.
Survivors include a nephew, Joseph E. "Toby" Winston and his wife, Jane, of Pontotoc; a niece, Kay Easter Gilleland of Houston, Texas; five great-nieces and great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Madge Rodgers Easter and Zona R. Winston; and a brother, Herman Franklin Rodgers.

GREENWOOD SPRINGS - Clovie Lucille Thorn, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at her home. She was born Jan. 5, 1915, in Itawamba County to Syburn Jones and Myrtle Hargett Jones. She was a member of the Amory Church of God of Prophecy for 70 years and was an avid church worker. She was formerly employed at a curtain factory. She was the widow of William Claudie Thorn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. James Austin officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Nella Jean Jacobson and her husband, Kenneth, of Roy, Utah, and Barbara Gail Howard and her husband, the Rev. Dennis Howard, of Lady Lake, Fla.; three sons, Clarence S. Thorn and his wife, Janice, of Greenwood Springs, Wayne Thorn and his wife, Earline, of Charleston, and Eddie M. Thorn and his wife, Julie K., of Amory; two sisters, Charlsie Parish of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Syble Reynolds of Pelham, Ala.; two brothers, Troy D. Jones of Hamilton, Ala., and J.C. Roy Jones of Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Stan Thorn, Paul Thorn, Tim Jacobson, Jason Green, Josh Green and Seth Thorn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Friday at the church.
