Margie Boone
Margie Boone died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at her home. She was 74.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Boone was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Boone; and her parents, Robert and Sara Wood.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel W. Boone and Kenny Boone, both of Vicksburg; three stepsons, James Boone of New Orleans, George Boone of Vicksburg and Dan Boone of Las Vegas; and a sister, Nancy Smythe of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Hancell Bankester officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Tuesday until the service.
Pallbearers will be Robert K. Foley Jr., Jimmy Mullen, Robert L. Mullen, Gary Zachary Smythe Jr., Peter Boone and Dennis Wood.
Jeanne S. Parker
Jeanne S. Parker was a graduate of Carr Central High School. For many years she was an employee of Charles' Department Store and McRae's Department Store in the Ladies' Ready-to-Wear Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell E. Parker, and a son, Walter F. Corbin.
She is survived by a son, Robert V. "Bob" Parker of Wharton, N.J., Tara Corbin Banks of Orlando, Fla., Victor S. Mississippi and Troy J. Corbin of Largo, Fla.
Services for Mrs. Price and Calvin Stephens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Oren Bailess, Charles H. Abraham and Dr. Walter Johnston Jr.
Memorials may be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS.
Willard Lloyd Tyler Jr.
Services for Willard Lloyd Tyler Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Family Life Cathedral with the Rev. Maxwell Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the service at the church.
Mr. Tyler died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 63.
Mr. Tyler was a resident of Vicksburg. He was a 1958 graduate of Bowman High School. He received a bachelor's degree in science from Jackson College in 1962 and a master of science degree in education with concentration in chemistry from Tuskegee Institute in 1966.
Mr. Tyler furthered his studies at Baylor University and the University of Southern Calif. He was 59.
Mr. Baldwin was born in Vicksburg and was retired as a wheel molder at Keystone Automotive Factory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Baldwin Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Mezon Sanders Baldwin; one son, J.B. Baldwin Jr. of Ontario; one daughter, Angela Baldwin of Ontario; his mother, Mary Pinkston Baldwin of Vicksburg; three brothers, Douglas Baldwin Jr. of Hollandale, Cleo Baldwin of Vicksburg and Calvin Baldwin of San Bernadino, Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.
He was a recipient of the Duke of Paducah and Thompson of Stockbridge, Ga.; one son, James Everett Graham of Paducah; one sister, Nancy Trueman of Austin, Kentucky Chapter, 3703 Taylorsville Road, Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40220-1330.
Col. Henry Clay Kirk
Col. Henry Clay Kirk, a longtime resident of Columbus, Miss., died after a brief illness at the Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Reiber, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Prairie Cemetery in Lowell, Ind., where he will be interred beside Frances Dahl Kirk, his wife of 56 years.
Col. Kirk was born at the family farm near Winfield, Ala., on Jan. 10, 1922. He attended Wayside Elementary School and graduated from Wayside High School in 1940. While attending Auburn University, he was drafted in 1943 into the United States Army. After basic training at Fort Bragg, N.C., he completed officer candidate school at Fort Sill, Okla., in June 1944, Commissioned Field Artillery, and was assigned to the 102nd Infantry Division in European Theater. Col. Kirk served as an artillery forward observer with an infantry rifle company and as executive officer of an artillery firing battery. At the end of World War II, his unit encountered Soviet forces along the Elbe River.
In 1947, he married Margaret Frances Dahl of Lowell.
During the early 1950s, then captain, he was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division along the 38th Parallel in Korea. There, he directed artillery fires and air support for the United Nations forces in the Chorwon Sector during the bitter battles in the latter stages of the Korean War.
His third conflict began in the central highlands of the Republic of Vietnam in August of 1967. He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division where he eventually became the division artillery commander. While in Vietnam he was selected for promotion to colonel, transferred to Army Headquarters, and assigned as Army artillery officer where he was responsible for positioning artillery units through the country.
Between wars he completed requirements for his bachelor's degree from Auburn University. He attended the Field Artillery officer advanced course, the Army command and General Staff college, and commanded an artillery battalion in the 35th Field Artillery. After retirement from the Army in 1974, he managed shopping malls, enjoyed raising and training bird dogs, and traveled extensively in the United States and Canada with his wife, Frances.
He is survived by Frederick C. Kirk of Gainesville, Ga.; Dr. James P. Kirk; a daughter-in-law, Karen W. Kirk; and two grandsons, Sam and Lee Kirk of Vicksburg.

Blanche Johnson Loviza
MONROE - Blanche Johnson Loviza died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was 94.
Mrs. Loviza was born in Monroe to Wellman H. and Margaret Martin Johnson. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Our Lady of Fatima Altar Society, Our Lady of Fatima Pioneers Club and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She was a charter member of The Club 60 Primetime Seniorcisers and participated in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo P. Loviza; a son, Leo E. Loviza; and a grandson, Jeffery S. Loviza.
Survivors include one son, Wellman J. Loviza of Seabrook, Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Mendenhall Coffee Club, the Brown & Root Retiree Association and the Masons and Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie L. and Bell May Boggan; and two brothers, Howard Boggan and Leotis Boggan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jovita Hopkins Boggan; a son and daughter-in-law, Garry H. and Connie Boggan of League City, Texas.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall with the Revs. Foy Killingsworth and J.O. Walker officiating. Burial followed at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Luther Boggan, Mike Boggan, C. Sean Boggan, Jake Brice, Robbie Hamilton, Justin Harmon, Lawrence Milner and Jeremy Wolfe.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mendenhall Coffee Club.
Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church or Weathersby Baptist.
Earl Brown
EDWARDS - Services for Earl Brown will be at noon Sunday at St. Mark M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. Sunday until the service.
Mr. Brown died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 86.
A resident of Edwards, Mr. Brown was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for St. Mark M.B. Church. He was a retired insurance agent for Dillon Burial Association.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Brown; and a son, Robert Earl Brown Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Louis Brown of Snellville, Ga., and Alan David Brown of Bronx, Calif.; a son, Bill Gattis of St. Joseph; a stepson, Mike Wilson of Delhi; a stepdaughter, Ki Allen of Delhi; and a grandson, William Dudley Gattis of Denver, Texas; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with Dr. James Texas, and Shaundra McMillan of Hazlehurst; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Angelita Terrell of Jackson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Jermaine Brown officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leon Howard. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Russum.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Iowa; four sisters, Martha Anderson of Hermanville and Florence Harvey, Peggy Banks and Mary Frances Banks, all of Jackson; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Minnie Bell, Ethel Gardiner, Olivia Payton and Carol Brunson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Port Gibson with the Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehall M.B. Church Cemetery in Pattison.
Visitation will be from 1 until 5 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
