Funeral services for Eddie "Sonnyman" James Seymore were held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Porter and Sons' Funeral Home in Lexington. Mr. Seymore, 49, died on Saturday, October 29, 2005. Interment was in Green lawn Cemetery. Minister Robert Brooks was the eulogist.
Mr. Seymore was the youngest son born to the late Gardner Jr. Seymore of Saukvillage, IL, L. V. Seymore of Lexington; and three grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Mr. Seymore's nephews and honorary pallbearers were Edward Tolivar, Otha Randle, Jessie Hazley, Reko Walden, Johnny Hazley, and Narvel Wright.
Richard Bryant Ellis
Died: Friday, October 21, 2005
Age: 93
Richard Bryant Ellis, 93, died Friday, October 21, 2005, at Indiana, and Gowan Ellis and wife Kay of Clinton; sisters, Velma Davis and Marylene Miller; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stanley Ellis, Melvin Farmer, Ricky Farmer, Wayne Ellis, Dick Lehman, and Percy Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 3249 Ellis Road, West, MS 39192-8129.
Mildred (Millie) Arelene Carroll Browning
Died: Thursday, October 20, 2005
Age: 75
Mildred (Millie) Arlene Carroll Browning Kahler, 73, passed away on October 20, 2005 from cancer at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Moore Funeral Home of Hattiesburg handled funeral arrangements. The service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, at First Baptist Church of Glendale in Hattiesburg. A graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery #1 in Goodman.
Mrs. Kahler was born on August 31, 1932 in Durant to James Benjamin Carroll and Ether Jones Carroll. She attended Durant High School and graduated from Holmes County Agricultural High School in Goodman. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Glendale in Hattiesburg where she was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School class and the Baptist Women. Mrs. Kahler retired from the Michigan, and Richard Wayne Browning of Jefferson, TX, Maxine Carroll Brown of Summit, Louise Carroll Botkin of San Angelo, Kentucky; one sister, Ernestine Cannon of Lexington; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son James L. Dodson, and five brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were: Doug Napier, Ron Napier, Jack English, Stan Brooks, Stan Brooks, Jr., Bill Napier, Walter Duncan, Ashby Crowder, Roy Kendall, Bill White, Bill Nethers, Bobby Bell, Charlie Riffee, Ron Craft, Deacons of First Baptist Church, members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #374, and Shenandoah Rebekah’s Lodge #83.
The Shenandoah Rebekah’s Lodge #83 held a service at 6:30 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home on Monday, April 21.

Dean M. Grantham

Dean M. Grantham, 46, of Lexington died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at his residence. Services were Monday, April 21 at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Doug Lawson officiated.
Mr. Grantham was the son of Leonard and Anthanatte Bell Grantham. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church.
Survivors include: mother, Anthanette B. Grantham; two brothers, Anthony Grantham of Madison and John Grantham of Gore Springs; two sisters, Tanda Matthews of Lexington and Belinda Casias of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers were: George Matthews, George Hathcock, Alvin Jordon, Jr., Mark Grantham, Richard Roberts, and Glen Causey.
Arristeen Holiday
Died: Friday, April 18, 2003
Arristeen Holiday of Pickens died Friday, April 18, 2003. Services were Wednesday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters Dora Scott of Jackson and Jimmie Williams of Toledo, Ohio, and Michael Holiday of Pickens; two sisters, Catherine Stasher and Velma Anderson both of Pickens; ten grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Eleanor Saffold Green

Age: 89
Eleanor Saffold Green , 89, of Lexington died Tuesday, April 8, 2003. Services were Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Porter and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with burial in Green lawn Cemetery. Rev. Johnnie M. Keys officiated.
Mrs. Green received her education in the public schools of Holmes County. Eleanor became a member of the Sweet Water Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where her membership remained until death. Her husband William “Son” Green ; two sisters, Carrie and Luberta; and two brothers, Green and Homer all preceded her in death.
Eleanor and her husband, William “Son” Green were married more than forty years. In the early 1950s, she relocated to Chicago, IL, where she was employed at Northwestern University. Later, she moved to Detroit, Louisiana, where she resided for 20 years before returning to Gulfport in 1997. She was a faithful member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church in Gulfport. She was the daughter of Willie Howard and Alberta Ables Winstead.
Survivors include: three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Winstead Daves of Gulfport, Mrs. Inez Winstead Cummings of Yazoo City, and Mrs. Marie Winstead Ward of Long Beach and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Paul H. Winstead, Allen Winstead, Danny Tate, Ben Ward, Ken Newman and Brian Moore.
Bobbie Nell Gilbert
Died: Saturday, March 29, 2003
Age: 71
Bobbie Nell Gilbert of Grenada, 71, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at her residence. Services were Tuesday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko with burial in Coleman Cemetery in McAdams.
Mrs. Gilbert was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Dee Singletary and Ercel Blackstock Singletary. She was a Baptist .
Survivors include: two sisters, Johnnie Fay Bone of North Augusta, Texas; two brothers, Joe Singletary Sr., of Durant and Eddie Dee Singletary, Sr. of Cosby, TX and Thad Blake of Cleveland; one sister, Gladys Dickerson of Neshoba; 5 grandchildren.
Daisy P. Savell
Died: Saturday, December 07, 2002
Age: 83
Daisy P. Savell, 83, died Saturday, December 7, 2002, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Services were Monday, December 9 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in Old White Plains Cemetery near Sebastopol.
Mrs. Savell was a native of Neshoba County. She was a longtime resident of Cooperville Community near Morton. She was a member of Pelahatchie Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Savell was a retired caregiver.
Mrs. Savell is survived by three daughters, Estell Sanford of Yazoo City, Marguerite Jordan of Pelahatchie, and Shirley Renfroe of Lena; two sisters, Velda Jenkins of Union and Josephine McElhenny of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Savell, and a son, Edward Savell.
