Larry Michael Applebaum of Madison, 52, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his residence. Graveside services were Friday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. at Beth El Cemetery in Lexington. Rev. Francis Cosgrove and Rev. Ricardo Phipps officiated.
Mr. Applebaum was born in Hinds County to Harry Applebaum, Jr., and Johnnie Ernestine Johnson Applebaum. He was self-employed and owner of Applebaum, Simmer & Associates. He was a member of the Religion of Humanity Church.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Margaret Stein of Madison; mother Ernestine Applebaum of Madison; one daughter, Chelsea California; one sister, Barbara Ann Straughan of Lakewood, Louisiana, 91, a native of Lexington, died Monday, March 1, 2004 in New Orleans. Services were Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m. at Union Grove M.B. Church with burial in Liston Cemetery. Century Hairston Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

Earlene A. Harmon of Pickens, 99, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at home. Services were 12 noon Saturday, March 6 at Cypress Grove with burial in Anderson Cemetery. Porter & Sons Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.
Helen Elizabeth Reynolds
Died: Friday, February 27, 2004
Age: 76
Helen Elizabeth Reynolds, 76, died February 27, 2004 at her daughter’s residence in Hamilton.
Mrs. Reynolds was born November 3, 1927, in Holmes County to the late Albert and Rubena Burrell Langford. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Reynolds, Sr., and one grandchild, Ross Alan Imel.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Winters of Natchez and Regina Lynn Imel of Hamilton; sons, George E. Reynolds, Jr. of Hamilton and Roger Lance Reynolds of Warren, Arkansas; sisters, Shirley Burrell of Hobbs, New Mexico and Gale Caron Robinson of Lexington; brother, Albert Langford of Lexington; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Ricky Reynolds, Rusty Reynolds, Andy Perkins, Timmy Williams, Glen Imel and John Imel.
William Lester Harris
Died: Friday, February 27, 2004
Age: 73
William Lester Harris of Tchula, 73, died Friday, February 27, 2004 at his residence. Services were Monday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with burial in Pine Crest Cemetery in Tchula. Rev. Gary Tanner and Rev. Lanny Haley officiated.
Mr. Harris was born June 23, 1930, in Attala County to Curtis Harris and Mamie Parkerson Harris. He was a retired broadcast engineer. Mr. Harris worked for WJDX from 1950 to 1952 then was employed for WLBT from November 1952 to 1990. He was a member of Horseshoe Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Louise Harris of Tchula; two sons, William Lester “Bill” Harris of Pearl and James Edwin Harris of Craig, Colorado; two brothers, Harold Harris of Monroeville, Texas where she was an active member of River Oaks Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher and church hostess. She was the secretary in the Castleberry School District in Fort Worth. She also was active in the PTA and was honored with a life time membership in the Texas and Florida; one sister, Roselle Lefferts of West; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
Mary Boatwright Younger
Died: Monday, February 07, 2005
Age: 79
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Boatwright Younger, 79, of Lexington were held Monday, February 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Lexington. Rev. Larry Edwards officiated assisted by Randy Hill. Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, near Lexington.
Mrs. Younger died of lung disease on February 3, 2005 at Lexington Manor.
A native of Memphis, Ohio, 59, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 in the Coatesville Ohio with burial in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Mississippi Valley State University when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rand served his county during the Vietnam Era in Germany as an Army Heavy Equipment Operator and Demolition Specialist and was honorably discharged in November 1968. He returned to School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies from Jackson State University. During the 1970's, he received a Masters of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling; a Masters of Education degree in Agency Counseling; and an Ed. Specialist degree in Guidance and Counseling all from the University of Toledo.
His professional journey was in the Social Services Industry. His work history in OH; stepdaugher, Ericka Oats-Burns of Royersford, PA; two sisters, Bettye Brown of Toledo, Tennessee, 41, a native of Lexington, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 on Highway 17 North in Lexington.
Services were at 12 noon on Saturday, January 29 at Guiding Light Church of God in Christ with burial in Old Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in West. Century Hairston Funeral Home of Lexington handled the arrangements.
