Funeral services for Nelson Randle, 98, were held at Pine Grove M. B. Church in Lexington on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Lee Jessie Johnson officiated. Interment was in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Randle died on Sunday, August 7, 2005 at the University Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on December 12, 1906, the second child of the late Julia Randle. He received his education at Pine Grove. Mr. Randle was a member of Pine Grove M. B. Church.
He was married to Lettie Garnett on January 30, 1930. To this union seven children were born, one son preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Lettie G. Randle of Lexington; two daughters, Lettie B. Montgomery of Durant, and Judie Waddell of Chicago, Illinois, and Ozell Randle of Detroit, TX and Billy Stonestreet of Durant; two sisters, Mary Burrell of Durant, and Elinor McKee of Rockledge, FL; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bee Hudson, Lynn Stonestreet, Brad Chamblee, Tom Sanford, Gary Freeze, Jason Freeze, Robert Wayne Carnathan, and Rufus Waddell.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Dee Rockett, Buck Burrell, Joe Burrell, Jim Yarborough, Buddy Tullos, Joe York, Nick Johnson, and Doug Burrell.
Elsie E. Courts
Died: Saturday, August 06, 2005
Age: 86
Graveside services for Elsie E. Courts, 86, were held Saturday, August 6, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Harttown Cemetery in Pickens with Rev. David Upshaw officiating.
Ms. Courts died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at University Hospital in Lexington.
She was born on February 20, 1919 in Yazoo County, a daughter of the late William Gordon Courts and Ernestine Hart Courts. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian.
She is survived by three brothers, Billy Courts and Bobby Courts, both of Pickens, and Rogers Courts of Southaven.
Peggy Tucker
Died: Sunday, July 31, 2005
Age: 52
Funeral services for Peggy Tucker of Vaiden were held on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant. Rev. Daniel Blaylock officiated with burial in Michie Cemetery in Carroll County.
Mrs. Tucker, 52, died on Thursday, July 28 in an accident on Highway 51.
She was a native of Holmes County, born on March 24, 1953 to the late John Guess and Sudie Keith Guess. She was a homemaker and a member of The Nazarene Church in Durant.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Tucker of Vaiden; five sons, Mike Hutchison and Donald Hutchison, both of Louisville, Oklahoma, William Bradley King of Ackerman, and Jerry Tucker of Vaiden; three brothers, Billy Guess of Union, Jerry Guess of Durant, and Walter Guess of Pearl; three sisters, Judy Rodgers of Lexington, Wanda Ingram of Durant, Angela Guess of Pearl, and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Garry Snell, Alan Spears, Chris Guess, Kenneth Wilkerson, Bru Ingram, Eric Rodgers, and Bubba Hutchison.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Ingram, Mitchell Rodgers, and Jeremy Shirley.
Elizabeth P. Henley

Age: 89
Elizabeth P. Henley of Lexington, 89, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at University Hospital in Lexington.
Graveside service was held on Sunday, July 31 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Thad Henley officiating. Southern Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Henley was born April 27, 1916 in Holmes County to the late W. B. Peacock and Annie Loyd Lee Peacock. She was an operator with Henley Store and a member of Acona Methodist Church.
Mrs. Henley is survived by a sister, Annie Loyd Peacock of Lexington.
Pallbearers were: Bob Peacock, Jerry Peacock, Bryant Parrish, Karlis Gercens, and Phil Smith.
