Marvin Terrell II
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 27, 2004, at 4:00 pm at Jesus Name Apostolic Church of Pleasant Hill for Marvin “Marty” Terrell II, 28, of Foxworth, who died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in Baton Rouge, La. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 4:00 pm.
A native of Foxworth, he was a self-employed Carpenter and a member of Jesus Name Apostolic Church of Pleasant Hill.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jean Bedwell and Annie Faye Terrell
Survivors include his wife Christy Nicole Ward Terrell; parents, Marvin and Deborah Terrell; one daughter, Gayelyn Marie Terrell; one son, Robbie Jerome Terrell; one sister, Natasha Terrell, all of Foxworth; grandparents, Rev. Marvin and Lois Terrell and Walter Bedwell; great-grandmother, Fronnie Hudson; and a host of friends and family.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Grace L. Cox
Funeral services were held Sunday July 4, 2004, at 2:00 pm at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Grace L. Cox, 86, of Foxworth, who passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004, at her residence. Rev. Mike Morea officiated at the service.
Peggy Regan read a letter from heaven. Music was provided by Megan and Zelda Morgan.
Interment was in the Lott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Burke, Shae Lowery, Shayne Lowery, Chris Powell, Jerry Powell, and Jerry W. Powell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley James Cox; her parents, Ellie and Alma Glisson; one daughter, Iris Ann Foster ; three brothers, Hulon Glisson, James Glisson, and J.B. Glisson; and two sisters, Opal Dilmore and Rosie Nash.
Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Ann Regan of Foxworth, Carolyn J. Cozzo of Debury, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Mae Cox of Foxworth; seven grandchildren, Lana Ratliff, Jonathan Regan, Denisa Kerr, Barbara Eichlberger, Kenny Wells, Tara Foster and Cheryl Norris; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Tommy Jean Peavy
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, at Enon Baptist Church for Tommy Jean Bullock Peavy, 72, of Columbia, who died July 3 at her home.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Brother Glynn Erwin, Brother James Broome, Brother Everette Broome and Brother Billy Pierce officiated.
A native of Marion County, she was born September 15, 1931, the daughter of the late R.T. and Nellie Stringer Bullock.
She was a homemaker and a health care giver. Prior employment was with the Marion County Schools as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lewis Peavy, three sisters, Betty Tolar, Minnie Ward, and Preston Ward, and cousin Raymond Stringer.
Special singing was provided by Mike Riley, Rebecca Broom, Dawn Baughman, and Michele Pierce. Congregational singing was led by Joe Tolar. Accompanists were Linda Simmons and Betty Tolar.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
William Lee
William Eulis Lee, 79, of Slidell, La., died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at his residence of cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Katherine Warren Lee of Slidell, father of Ann Lee Bates of Houston, son of the late Henry L and Eliza Patterson Lee. He was the brother of Henry Levie Lee, Jr. of Petal, Janice Haddox of Columbia, Thelma Broom of Stacy, Ark., Eva Broom of Hattiesburg, Roma Fern Altman of Corinth, Elizabeth Murry of Hattiesburg and the late Ivan Lee, Leonard Lee, Mayfred Lee, Gilmer Lee, Evelyn Broom, and Ouida Broom. He is also survived by two grandchildren, William Lee Nores and Clinton Alan Nores.
A native of Sumrall, and resident of Slidell, La, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII aboard the USS Gardner of Bunkerhill officiated at the service.
He was a farmer and county worker and a member of Bassfield Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Geiger.
He is survived by his four sons, Olin C. Geiger, Jr.; Craig Geiger; Glenn Geiger of Carson; and Travis Geiger of Clinton; a daughter, Montez Scarborough of Foxworth; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons, Robert Scarborough, Tommy Scarborough, John Geiger, Tony Geiger, Brian Scarborough, and Adam Scarborough.
Mary Mangum
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at 11:30 am at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Mary Lillian Mangum, 84, of Petal, who died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday, July 7, from 9:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home.
She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company in Hattiesburg and was a member of Petal-Harvey Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Mangum, three sisters, Vera Tynes, Ruby Lee Morgan, and Mickey Mangum, and one brother, Thomas Alvis Mangum.
Survivors include three nieces and four nephews.
L.Z. Blankinship
Funeral services were held July 8, 2004, at 11:00 am at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel for Rev. L.Z. Blankinship, 82, of Foxworth, who died July 3, 2004, in his home. Interment was in Christian Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held July 7, 2004, from 2:00-8:00 pm.
A native of Foxworth, he was a pastor of Friendship Baptist and a member of Christian Hill Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lula Blankinship.
Survivors include his wife, Zola Mae Blankinship; daughters, Lenzene Expose’, Gloria Rawls, and Zola Jordan; sons, L.Z. Blankinship, Jr., E.D. Blankinship, Grady Blankinship, and Lamond Blankinship, Sr.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, three cousins, family and friends.
Pallbearers were L.Z. Blankinship, Jr., Edward Blankinship, Sr., Grady Blankinship, Joshodrick Rawls, Thomas D. Ball and Lamond Blankinship, Sr.

George Ford
Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, 2004 at 2:00 pm graveside at Ford Family Cemetery for George E. Ford, 83, of Columbia, who died Saturday, July 10, 2004. Rev. O.J. Seal officiated at the service.
A native of Marion County, he was a retired equipment operator for Marion County and a member of East Columbia Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors included one sister, Sue Schilling and one brother, Walter (Dude) Ford, both of Columbia, three nieces and three nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home of Columbia was in charge of arrangements.
Andrew Yoder, Jr.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Capps Funeral Home Chapel for Andrew A. Yoder, Jr., 72, of Kokomo, who died Friday, July 9, 2004, at Marion General Hospital. Interment was in the Kokomo Methodist Church Cemetery. Eli Yoder, Daniel Nisly and John Mast officiated at the service. Visitation was held Monday from 4:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Born August 26, 1931, in Mt. Eaton, Ohio; five sons, James Yoder of Kokomo, Philip Yoder of Big Sandy, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Michael Yoder, Myron Yoder, Brian Yoder, Randy Yoder, Justin Yoder, Allen Miller, Wesley Miller, Derick Villafranco, and Chad Hilton.
Ben Berry
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia for Ben Berry, 27, of Hattiesburg, who died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev Wayne Ward officiated at the service assisted by Rev. Trent Bilbo. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 13, 2004, from 5-9 pm.
A native of Columbia, he was landscaper with Bypass Landscaping in Columbia and a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William C. Berry; maternal grandparents, J.P. and Miriam Clark; Aunt Linda Clark Speights; and Uncle Mike Clark.
Survivors include fiancee, Kahilla Hakimzedah of Hattiesburg; parents, Billy and Brenda Berry of Columbia; one sister, Beth Johnson and husband Rusty of Columbia; paternal grandparent, Priscilla Berry of Columbia; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Reggie Williamson, Steve Rayborn, Jason Marshall, Justin Singley, Don King and Russ Foxworth.
Honorary pallbearers were Brad Day, Lance Williams, Chad Watson, Shane Smith, Michael Hughes, Jason Fortenberry, Wade Windham, Joey Adams, Jeremy Breakfield, Danny Dyess, Eric Speights, Brad Pope, Kevin Speights, Ricky Pope and Brandon Walker.
