Willette Smith Spann of Clinton, 47, an IST for Jackson Public Schools, died Jan. 10 at Central Woods Cemetery.

Joyce Odom Graham
Joyce Odom Graham of Hattiesburg, 70, formerly of Flowood, died Jan. 14 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Services were Jan. 16 at McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl handled arrangements.
Mrs. Graham was formerly employed by Harris Bianci Hewitt. A member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg, she previously attended McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church.
An avid gardener, she was a member of the Day Lily Society in Hattiesburg. She enjoyed sewing, painting and participating in the Scarlett O'Hatters of Hattiesburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Graham.
Survivors include her daughters, Ivy Cathrine Graham of Collierville, Tenn., Cindy Leigh Graham of Pearl and Layla Essary of Hattiesburg; brother, Johnny Odom of Clinton; sister, Virginia Wells of Deer Park, Washington, D.C. 20036.
Herman Milton Bryant
Herman Milton "Pud" Bryant of Terry, 64, died Jan.14 at Central Texas, and Carol Bowers of Brandon; and grandchildren, Chloe Campbell and Karl Ruddick.

John H. Williams
John H. "Big John" Williams of Clinton, 68, went home to be with the Lord, Jan. 15 at his residence in Clinton.
Services were Jan. 18 at Lakewood Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Williams was born in Jackson and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He was the son of the late John Percell Williams and Evelyn Little Williams. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Hinds Community College.
Mr. Williams was retired president of Douglas Janitorial Service.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His family said Mr. John lived to fish. He was a member of the Magnolia Crappie Club and the Four Seasons Hunting Club in Lorman. He and his wife Kay enjoyed traveling in their motor home within the United States.
His family said he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and he was lovingly called "Papa John."
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Kay Douglas Williams of Clinton; three sons, Doug Williams and wife Susan, Billy Williams and wife Caren, all of Clinton, and Andy Williams of Madison; two sisters, Margaret Davis of Mobile, Ala., Sue Magee of Colorado Springs, Mississippi and Rankin County, Mr. Steen had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1949. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Steen was a civil engineer and was employed by the Vicksburg District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was chief of the construction branch. He retired in 1976 as chief of construction and operations, Lower Mississippi River Commission. He graduated from Hinds Junior College in 1939 and N.Y., and Deborah Estes and husband George of Gulfport; five grandchildren, Vicki (Darrell) Sartin, Clinton; Elizabeth Van Egmond, Atlanta, Ga.; David (Nicole) Estes, Gulfport; Sarah Diana Estes, Clinton; and Alexander Burkett Jaeger, Hastings-on-Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kayla Sartin, Clinton; one sister, Lois Jordan, Jackson; two brothers, John N. Steen, Baltimore, Md.; and William Carroll Steen, Fayetteville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Chris Steen, Florence; brothers-in-law, Stan Rutherford, Genesco, New York, Texas; a sister, Joyce Prince of Laurel; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Walter Lee Washington Sr. of Jackson, 67, a labor, died Jan. 21 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were Jan. 29 at New McRaven Hill M.B. Church in Jackson with burial in Autumn Washington was born Feb. 6, 1937, to the late Wyatt Washington received his formal education at Summer Hill School in Clinton and Utica College in Utica. He also served in the military branch of Armed Services. He worked as a self-employed contractor, whose ministry was helping anyone in need.
Upon his confession of Jesus Christ as his personal savior, Mr. Washington, Josephine Prince and one son, James W. Georgia Washington; five brothers, six sisters, seven sons, four daughters, 34 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
