Howard Miller, 58, died Jan. 21 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were Jan. 28 at Lynn Chapel Methodist Church with burial in Porter Cemetery in Bolton.

Robert Franklin Neely Jr. , 81, died Jan. 25 at Woods Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Mrs. Haffey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She leaves behind her husband of over 55 years, Charles Haffey Sr.; a son, Charles Haffey Jr., and his wife, Debbie, of Madison; a daughter, Linda Haffey Lollar of Clinton; three grandchildren, Tony, Pam, and Melanie; and several great-grandchildren.
Her parents and her son-in-law, William Lollar, preceded her in death.
MARJORIE B. ROSE
Clinton
Marjorie B. Rose, 62, died Jan. 22 at her home in Clinton.
Memorial services were Jan. 26 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel.
A native of Mosell where she graduated from Mosell High School and Jones Community College, Marjorie lived in Atlanta, Ga., for several years. While in Mississippi, where he was proud to play football for one year. He was an avid Ole Miss football fan. He was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton.
Mr. Brown and wife Nancy owned the former Captain's Corner convenience store where they cooked lunches and sold lots of barbecue. Mr. Brown was a wonderful cook and had his own secret recipe for his barbecue. People would come from miles around to eat his cooking. He was also known for his great chicken and dressing, and beef stew.
Mr. Brown loved people and entertaining. He didn't meet a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a sensitive man with a compassionate spirit, caring deeply for others.
Mr. Brown leaves behind his loving family, including his wife, Nancy Loflin Brown of Clinton; three sons, Kevin Brown and wife Sharon of Pontotoc, Roger Corley and wife Maria of Nashville, Tenn., Chris Corley and wife Kim of Clinton; two daughters, Sunya Brandon and husband Shawn of Pontotoc and Kimberly Brown of Pontotoc; seven grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters, Bonnie Gregory and Mary Bell Kersten; and three brothers, Elson, Jack and Sam Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morrison Heights Baptist Church Building Fund or Odyssey Hospice of Jackson.
NONNIE JEWEL BRYANT
TERRY
Nonnie Jewel Bryant, 91, of Terry and Jackson, after a lengthy illness at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, was called to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior April 22.
Services were April 26 at Chandler Funeral Home with burial in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. James Buie of Clinton officiated.
She was born Oct. 25, 1914, to the Andrew and Minnie Middleton in Center Ridge, Smith County. She was a county girl and became a wife at a young age, marrying Robert E. Bryant, also of Smith County, on Jan. 1, 1929. She with her husband and children moved to Jackson in 1942.
She was a loving, dedicated wife to her husband, a loving mother and grandmother. She was everything a wife, mother and grandmother should be - gentle, humble, loving, strong, firm and yet tender. She was a mother who loved the Lord and raised her children and grandchildren in the ways of the Lord.
She was a mother and grandmother who was always there, seeing to the family's needs, holding and comforting a family member when needed. She also was a woman who had a big smile, a kind word and compassion for anyone she met in life.
She was a member at Wynndale Baptist Church in Terry and enjoyed being a member of the Young at Heart Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Bryant; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bryant; and grandson, Cliff Bryant.
She is survived by a son, Bewell C. Bryant and wife Hazel of Pearl; daughter, Carrol D. Lewis and husband Wilbur "Ed" of Jackson; and son, Ray E. Bryant and wife Peggy of Terry; grandchildren, Lauren Yawn of Phoenix City, Ala., Lisa Hughes of Oxford, Frank Lewis of Forest Hill, La., Robert Lewis of Byram, Regenia Ferguson of Brandon, Michele Watts of Terry, Wendy Austin of Clinton, Anthony "Tony" Bryant of Huntsville, Ala., Nathan "Andy" Bryant of Tallahassee, Fla.; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
SANDRA L. FREEMAN
HERMANVILLE
Sandra L. Freeman, 61, died April, 19 at the University of Mississippi. She was a former teacher at the Gilfoil School of Nursing and taught at Hinds Community College for a number of years.
She retired from HCC in 1997 as the chairwoman of the practical nursing program. She was a resident of Clinton for 30 years and had lived in Hermanville for the past four years. She was a member of Hermanville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Freeman of Hermanville; two daughters, Tonya Skrocki of Tyler, Texas, and Sara Neely of Nashville; a son, Tommy Freeman Jr. of Hermanville; her mother, Willie Mae Maltby of Florence; four brothers, Jimmy Lewis of Star, Richard Lewis of Hattiesburg, Robert Lewis of Brandon, Steve Lewis of Atlanta; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Skrocki, Phil Lewis, Richard Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, Robert Lewis and Steve Lewis.
MICHAEL R. GIVENS
SLIDELL, LA.
Michael R. "Mike" Givens, 50, died peacefully with his family by his side April 15 at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, La.
Services were April 21 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
A native of Rantoul, Ill., and a resident of Slidell for the past 21 years, Mr. Givens was a graduate of Clinton High. He was a sales representative for ComforTech in Jackson. He was a coach at SBBA and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Caroline Wynne Givens; children, Christopher Michael Givens and Katie Michelle Givens; stepson, Jimmie Jackson; brothers, Jimmy and wife Debbie Givens, Keith and wife Leslie Givens and Gary Givens; stepsisters, Elizabeth Gunn, Ruth Rule, Loretta Ray and Majorie Vann; sister-in-law, Ruth Wynne and the late Brian Wynne; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, preferred in lieu of flowers.
