Buford D. Tubbs Jr.
GREENWOOD - Buford D. Tubbs Jr., 75, sales representative and former Ford automobile dealer in Green wood, died of heart failure Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Green wood. Mr. Tubbs was former district manager for Cudahy Meat Co. and former owner of Three Rivers Ford in Green wood. Mr. Tubbs, the husband of Lyllian Marion Tubbs, also leaves a daughter, Marion Tubbs Beasy, and a son, Buford D. Tubbs III, both of Green wood; two sisters, Dorinda Clarke of Green ville and Kay Dew of Saucier; two brothers, Dalton Tubbs of Sumner and Duward Tubbs of Webb, and four grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church of Green wood or French Camp Academy.
Hubert Royce Prewitt
HOLLANDALE - Hubert Royce Prewitt, 70, auto mechanic, died of cancer Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home in Hollandale with burial in Hollandale Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Hollandale Baptist Church and Thomas Gaddis Masonic Lodge. Mr. Prewitt, the husband of Mazell Blaylock Prewitt, also leaves two daughters, Dianna Kay Triplett of Leland and Kathy Sue Prewitt of Hollandale; a son, Hubert `J. R.' Prewitt Jr. of Gonzales, La.; two sisters, Mozell P. Rutherford and Vereen P. McNamara, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Billy Mack Prewitt of Brookhaven, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Etaw Bumpas Frazier
HOLLY SPRINGS - Etaw Bumpas Frazier, 85, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Tippah County, homemaker, died of heart failure Friday at Good Shepherd Care Center in Peoria. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Holly Springs Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. She was a Baptist. She leaves three daughters, Bonnie Robbins of Pompano Beach, Fla., Janice Monk of Yuma, Ariz., and Brenda Quihuis of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Juanita Willis of Memphis; two brothers, David Bumpas of Memphis and Henry Bumpas of Mt. Pleasant, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Jimmy Lee Vance
HOUSTON - Jimmy Lee Vance, 80, retired factory worker, died of lung disease Saturday at Trace Regional Hospital. Services were Monday at Southern Funeral Chapel with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman. Mr. Vance, the husband of Bonnie Vance, also leaves four daughters, Bobbie Jean Hill, Rebecca `Tena' Moore, Sue Holder and Faye Doss; a son, David Lee Vance; a sister, Mary Lou Overstreet; two brothers, J. T. Vance and G. W. Vance, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Gene Farish
INDIANOLA - Gene Farish, 64, of Nashville, formerly of Indianola, retired truck driver for Ryder, died of heart failure Monday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Card Funeral Home with burial in Indianola City Cemetery. He leaves two sisters, Robbie Neal of Nashville and Sandra Callison of Winterset, Mississippi Baptist Children's Village in Clinton.
Vera Catherine Job Locke
OXFORD - Vera Catherine Job Locke, 82, retired key punch operator for the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Oxford Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in North Oxford Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of the Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Temple Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home has charge. Mrs. Walker, the wife of Arthur Lee Walker, also leaves a son, Dustin Lee Walker; her mother and stepfather, Bobbie Marie and Bill Hall, and two sisters, Sue Presley and Nelda Roberson, all of Walnut; three brothers, Dwight Barnes and Gary Barnes, both of Walnut, and Deion Barnes of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three half-sisters, Sue McClain of Walnut, Doris Williams of Ripley and Kay Sullins of Memphis; two half-brothers, Ray Barnes and Claudie Barnes, four stepsisters and two stepbrothers.

WATER VALLEY - Thomas Orr, 71, of Memphis, formerly of Water Valley, Paducah, Ky., Atlanta and Dallas, retired regional sales director of pharmaceutical sales for Rhone-Polenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals, died of cancer Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Browning Funeral Home. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky Colonel for the State of Mississippi or a charity of the donor's choice.
