Janie Oglesby Jacquet
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.
BILOXI - Mrs. Janie Oglesby Jacquet, 65, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Oschners Hospital in New Orleans.
Mrs. Jacquet moved to the Gulf Coast from Sanford, Fla. in 1954. She was employed with Biloxi Regional Medical Center in the Tumor Registry for over 20 years. Mrs. Jacquet was presently working with Biloxi Regional in radiation therapy. Mrs. Jacquet was a member of the Young Matrons Carnival Organization, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, and Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and was a member of the St. Mary's Guild.
In leiu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Building Fund of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 610 Water Street, Biloxi, MS 39530.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Wilbur and Mary Lee Oglesby of Sanford, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Albert Jacquet Jr.; one son, Mr. Albert Jacquet III; one daughter, Mrs. Kathy and her husband Lester Thompson, all of Biloxi; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Kay Dodson, and her husband Bobby of Palm Beach, Fla. and Ms. Katrina Chetam of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Mr. Delmas and his wife, Cheryl Oglesby and Mr. Douglas and his wife, Elsia Oglesby, all of Sanford, Fla.; three grandsons, Jason Jacquet, Jessie Jacquet and Joseph Jacquet, all of Biloxi; three step-grandsons, Lester Thompson and Dirk Thompson, all of Biloxi; and five step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday evening at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi, Dec. 11, 2000, 6 to 9 p.m. A service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, where friends may call one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Lakeisha V. Jones
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at H.A. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church.
WIGGINS - Lakeisha V. Jones, 22, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in Wiggins.
Miss Jones was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Sammy Barnes and Glinda Barnes; her grandmothers, Regina Jones and Willie Mae Brown; grandfather, Junior Plez Barnes; greatgrandparents , Richard and Elizabeth Atkinson; and great-great-grandmother , Katherine Brooks, all of Wiggins.
A service will be 11 a.m. Monday at H.A. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Welcome Hill Cemetery. Owens-Ramey Funeral Services in Wiggins is in charge of arrangements.
Gus Keller Sr.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Bethel Baptist Church.
GULFPORT - Gus Keller Sr., 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000.
Mr. Keller was a native of Sanderville and a resident of Gulfport. He retired in 1983 from Bell South and was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belia Keller; three sons, Randolph Porter, David Walker and L.C. Walker; and his parents.
Survivors include five daughters, Katherine Clemons, Mary Louise Ash, Mattie Esters, Albertine Deloach, all of Gulfport, and Josephine Hill of Detroit; a son, Gus Keller Jr. of Thornton, Calif. He was a Little League coach for girls softball in California; two sisters, Trina Vines of California.
Services will be private. O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula is in charge of arrangements.
Laurence M. Oden
BILOXI - Dr. Laurence M. Oden, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Gulfport.
Arrangements are incomplete at Riemann Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi.
Adolph A. Pittman
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport.
PASS CHRISTIAN - Adolph A. Pittman, 90, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Pittman was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Lyman Pittman; and his parents, Harrison and Mable Pittman.
Survivors include two sons, Sidney Pittman of Deltona, Fla., and Adolph A. Pittman Jr. of Corona, New York and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1951. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal and the Japan Occupational Medal. Mr. Smith was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Smith of Biloxi; two daughters, Eva Marie White of Long Beach and Helen Catchot of Biloxi; two sons, James Edward Smith Sr. of Wiggins and Arthur A. Catchot Jr. of Biloxi; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. A service will be Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.
Evelyn Ladner Souder
Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Monday at Biloxi National Cemetery.
BAY ST. LOUIS - Evelyn Ladner Souder, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. Souder was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R.T. Souder Jr.; a son, John Hart Souder; her parents, Dantzler and Lee Jones Ladner; and four brothers, Dyliss Ladner, Barney Ladner, Bobby Joe Ladner and Benjamin Ladner.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith Caperton of League City, Georgia Walker; two sons, Luther Walker Jr. and Luther Flowers; two daughters, Tammy Walker and Miranda Walker, all of Gulfport; two sisters, Veronica Evans of Biloxi and Lillie Rose of Oakland, N.Y.
BILOXI - Bobby Joe Williams Sr., 55, a resident of 1168 Judge Sekul, Apt. No. 32, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Williams was born January 25, 1945 in Spartanburg County, S.C. He served 27 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Keesler Air Force Base as a senior master sergeant in September 1990.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sammy Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y. 11212. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, N.Y. Richmond Funeral Home in Biloxi is in charge of local arrangements.
Leon Williams
PEARLINGTON - Leon Williams, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Williams was sent from Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis to Schoen Funeral Home in Slidell for services and burial.
