Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel, 25th Avenue, Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Alice F. Davis, 62, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Davis was a native of Poplarville and spent most of her life on the Gulf Coast. She was an employee of President Casino and a member of Pass Road Baptist Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James LeRoy Davis; her parents, John and Laura Odom; a son, Glenn A. Rackard; a brother, John Odom; and a sister, Mary Rackard.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Davis of Lizana and Michael Davis of Gulfport; a daughter, Toni Bond of Saucier; a brother, Monroe Odom of Picayune; a sister, Christine Kahl of Detroit; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. A service will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Josephine DeBever
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church in Bay St. Louis.
BAY ST. LOUIS - Josephine Gex DeBever, 92, of Bay St. Louis, died Thursday, November 30, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. DeBever was a native of Abbeville, LA and a longtime resident of Bay St. Louis. She was of the Episcopal Faith, a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Bay St. Louis, and belonged to the E.C.W. of Christ Episcopal Church, the Ruth Guild and the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Bay-Waveland Garden Club, Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and Pass Christian Isles Golf Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter J. Gex, Jr.; her second husband, Omer J. DeBever; a son, Hartwell E. Gex, Sr.; her parents, Dr. Hartwell and Annie Mai Watts Eldredge; and two sisters, Margaret Eldredge and Mai Eldredge.
Survivors include two sons, Judge Walter Gex, III and daughter-in-law Kathleen A. Gex of Bay St. Louis, and Joseph W. Gex and daughter-in-law Virginia A. Gex of Waveland; a daughter, Gaynell Gex Boh and son-in-law Capt. Roger Boh of Pensacola, FL; daughter-in-law, Jackie L. Gex of Pass Christian; two stepsons, Bruce DeBever and wife Pat of Boulder, Georgia of Rochester, NY; stepdaughter, Marilyn Punahele and husband Isaac of Boulder, Mississippi Junior College and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed home builder for many years and was a partner in Southern Waste Services, Inc. He was a member of Polar Star Lodge No. 154, F&AM, Gulfport Scottish Rite Bodies, Joppa Shrine Temple, the Gulfport Yacht Club and Cobb's Crossing Hunting Club. He was also a member of Nugent United Methodist Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oma and Oleta Herrington; and a sister, Jeannine Francisco.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Saucier Herrington; a son, Steve Herrington; two daughters, Natasha Dronet, all of Woolmarket, and Kimberly Herrington of Gulfport; two sisters, Sibyl Hebert and Dale Begnaud, both of Biloxi; and three grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery in Harrison County.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society, 182-A DeBuys Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
Lena Linda Johnston
GULFPORT - Lena Linda Johnston, 51, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Johnston was a native of Orlando, Fla., and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for 20 years. She was a stained-glass artist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Isaacson and Adeline Lersch Isaacson.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Johnston of Gulfport; and a brother, John Isaacson of Orlando.
Mrs. Johnston was sent from Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport, to Loomis Funeral Home in Orlando for burial in Green wood Cemetery.
George B. Leggett Jr.
GULFPORT - George B. Leggett Jr., 88, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Gulfport.

Barry Peter Letort
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Ocean Springs.
ST. MARTIN - Barry Peter Letort, 51, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in St. Martin.
Mr. Letort was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended First Baptist Church of Biloxi. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 568 in Gulfport with 30 years of service. He was a coach with the Dixie Youth Baseball and Basketball in St. Martin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Letort.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy E. Letort; a daughter, Jennifer Letort; a son, Jason Letort; his mother, Alma Letort, all of St. Martin; two sister, Jean Kilpatrick of the Latimer Community and Joy Benezue of Vancleave; and a brother, Stan Letort of St. Martin.
Visitation will be from 5:45 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs with Rosary at 5:45 p.m. A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Bosarge Cemetery.
Dennis Mallett
SAUCIER - Dennis Mallett, 95, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Saucier.

Rachel Faye Palmer
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Carriere.
CARRIERE - Rachel Faye Jackson Palmer, 56, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Jackson.
Ms. Palmer was a native of Ripley and a resident of Carriere. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Carriere.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Jo Palmer Davis of Huntsville, Ala.; a son, Patrick Darin Palmer of Carriere; two sisters, Hazel Jarrell of Carriere and Lois Stegall of Picayune; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Carriere where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery.
Rudolph J. Schmidt
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Pass Christian.
PASS CHRISTIAN - Rudolph J. "Brother" Schmidt, 73, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Schmidt was a native and resident of Pass Christian. He was a retired commercial fisherman and was a merchant seaman for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rudolph A. Schmidt; his parents, Rudolph J. and Ella Bergeron Schmidt; a brother, Lawson Schmidt; and a sister, Margaret Hoover.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mae Schmidt of Pass Christian; two sons, James M. "Mike" Schmidt of Pass Christian and Perry E. Schmidt of Long Beach; two daughters, Connie Strong of Bay St. Louis and Deborah S. Williams of Gulfport; three half-sisters, Yvonne Stewart of Waveland, June Necaise of New Orleans and Peggy Necaise of California; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home in Pass Christian with Rosary at 8 p.m. A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
