Nicholas Filipich Jr.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
BILOXI - Nicholas "K-9" Filipich, Jr., 72, of Biloxi, died Thursday, September 28, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Filipich was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948 aboard the USS Colo.; and two sisters, Talka Chandler of Meridian and Odessa Skelton of Grand Bay.
Visitation was held Saturday at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. A service will be at 3 p.m. today at Arlington Heights Baptist Church where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
Fred L. Hudson
Funeral: Graveside at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Biloxi National Cemetery.
GULFPORT - Fred L. Hudson, 80, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Leaksville and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict and retired in 1965. He was employed as an offshore chef for 22 years and with Kroger from 1986 to 1993.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christiane Cooley and William Bill Hudson; and four brothers, Garvis Hudson, John Hudson, Glen Hudson and J.B. Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Voncille Hudson of Gulfport; three daughters, Carole McClellan of Hernado, Evelyn Carlson of Clarkston, Mich., and Patsy Clements of Gulfport; four brothers, Eddie Ray Hudson of Alabama, Everett Terrell Hudson of Florida; three sisters, Gertrude Holland of Michigan; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Hellen M. Israel
BILOXI - Hellen M. Israel, 84, of Biloxi, MS died on Friday, September 29, 2000 in Biloxi, MS.
Mrs. Israel is preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Elizabeth Morgan and a sister, Frances M. Baker. She is survived by her husband, Harry P. Israel of Biloxi, MS; two daughters, Paula Israel Rhude of Arcata, CA and Mary Elizabeth Israel of Houston, NC; and two grandchildren, Jessica Morgan Rhude of San Francisco, CA and Paul Howard Harpster of Houston, NC and a resident of Biloxi for the past 24 years. Mrs. Israel was also a world traveler with her husband who served in the Corp of Engineers for the US Army.
The family prefers memorials to one's favorite charity. Riemann Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

GULFPORT - James Johnson, age unavailable, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Gulfport.
Arrangements are incomplete at Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport.
James Hilton Landrum III
Funeral: 3 p.m. today at the Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport.
GULFPORT - James Hilton Landrum III, 20, of Gulfport, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 28, 2000, in Gulfport.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Hilton Landrum Sr. and Anna Myrtle Landrum; and Lewis Carlton Flurry
Survivors include his father and stepmother, James Hilton Landrum II and Debbie Landrum of Gulfport; his mother and stepfather, Janelle Flurry Derouen and Bruce Derouen of Jackson, MS; four sisters, Patricia Lynn Neumeier of Gulfport, Angela Kaye Landrum of Columbus, MS, Julie Ann Douglas of Tupelo, MS and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Derouen of Jackson, MS; his grandmother, Doris D. Flurry of Gulfport; and an aunt, Debbie Blount and her husband, Scott Blount, of Gulfport.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, with a service to follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
Noel B. Moran
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux.
PASS CHRISTIAN - Noel B. Moran, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Moran was a resident of Pass Christian and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia Ladner Moran; two sons, Noel B. Moran Jr. and Bobby Moran; his parents, Victor and Dorine Ladner Moran; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Lavern Moran, Huey Moran, Herman Moran and Richard Moran, all of Pass Christian; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis with Rosary at 8 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday for an 11 a.m. service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
Dorothy Papania
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Papania, 69, of Gulfport died Friday, September 29, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Papania was born in New Orleans and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1956. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Bereavement Society and the Irish Gala Committee. Mrs. Papania was associated with her husband in the operation of Papania Advertising Specialties.
Mrs. Papania was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Mary Hippler.
Survivors include her husband, Andy Papania of Gulfport; two daughters, Joanne McDonald of Pass Christian and Mary Williams of Pensacola Beach, FL; six sons, Drew Papania, Tommy Papania, Patrick Papania, all of Gulfport, Mark Papania of Lilburn, GA, Chris Papania of Pass Christian, and Matthew Papania of Wailuku, Hawaii; a sister, Betty Laurent of Alexandria, LA; and 16 grandchildren, Shane McDonald, Rachel Layne McDonald, Mark McDonald, Lauren Williams, Jamie Williams, Jason Papania, Kimberly Papania, Stephen Papania, Adam Papania, Sarah Papania, Laura Papania, Kate Papania, Andrea Papania, Mary Therese Papania, Brooke Papania, and Jonathan Papania.
Visitation will be this evening form 6:30 until 9 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the mass. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Annie Pearl Smith
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Biloxi River Baptist Church.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Annie Pearl Smith, 80, resident of Gulfport, MS, died in Gulfport, MS on Friday, September 29, 2000.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Claire, MS and a lifelong resident of Gulfport. She was retired from Pass Christian Industries. She was a member of Biloxi River Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Smith, Sr., a son, Herbert Smith, her parents, Willie Mac Mercer and Pearly Jones Mercer, step-father, Roy Jones, and a sister, Inez Roberson.
Survivors include, two brothers, Mac Mercer and Thomas Jones of Gulfport. Five sons and their wives, James E. Smith and Jessie of Biloxi, Alvin Smith and Katherine, Louis Smith and Tuti, Allen Smith and Lora, Bobby Smith and Debby; and her niece and caretaker, Ruby Dobson; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Ryan Young, Brock Young, Herbert Kasey Smith, Alvin Smith III, Gabriel Ruiz and Samuel Ruiz.
Visitation will be today, October 1, 2000 at the Biloxi River Baptist Church from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2000 at the church. Burial will be in Coalville Cemetery .

Bonnie Terrebonne
Funeral: Graveside at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
JEFFERSON, La. - Bonnie Davis Terrebonne, 56, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Jefferson.
Ms. Terrebonne was preceded in death by her parents, Will H. Davis and Ruth Darnall Davis.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Ave., Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
