Wenton W. Stein
Funeral: 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Schoen Funeral Home, Covington, La.
COVINGTON, La. - Wenton W. Stein, 77, died Friday, May 5, 2000.
Mr. Stein was a native of Madisonville, La., and had been a resident of Covington, La., for the past 54 years.
He was the beloved husband of Janis Bickham Stein; father of Karen Stein McGhee of Bogalusa, La., and Peggy Stein Woolley of Biloxi; father-in-law of Joel A. Woolley; brother of Kenneth P. Stein; grandfather of Ryan McGhee, Kasey McGhee, Leslie McGhee, Wendy Woolley and Kyle Woolley; and great-grandfather of Tyler Lane McGhee.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral. Religious services will be held in the Chapel of Schoen Funeral Home, 1414 South Tyler Street, Covington, La., at 2 p.m. today. Interment will be in Theo Dedinger Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.
James E. Wallace Sr.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Woolmarket.
BILOXI - Mr. James E. "Jimmy" Wallace Sr., 83, loving husband and father, died Friday, May 5, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Wallace was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was retired from the City of Biloxi where he served as Superintendent of the Biloxi Municipal Stadium (Yankie Stadium) for 24 years.
Mr. Wallace graduated from Biloxi High School in 1937 where he held numerous records in football, basketball and track. Throughout his lifetime, he coached and refereed such sports as Little League baseball, pee wee football and men's softball. For all of his contributions to the City of Biloxi, Mr. Wallace received the Outstanding Service Award from the Biloxi Recreational Commission and was also presented keys to the city. As an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Wallace continued his active faith at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, James E. "Jimmy" Wallace Jr.; his mother, Ira Perry March; his brother, Joseph Wallace; and two sisters, Eleanor Overby and Medora Ward.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel Glass Wallace; three daughters and their husbands, Myrna and Elbert Meaut, Ruth and Tommy Williams Sr., Mary and Jerry Tremmel, all of Biloxi; Tommy and Debbie Catchot Wallace of Panama City, Missouri Valley, Calif., Damien Clark of Atlanta and Desi Clark of San Diego, Mississippi Council of Aging also recognized Mrs. Fountain for her volunteer services. She was a multi-gallon blood donor and often assisted in Red Cross Donor programs. Mrs. Fountain was very active in Harrison County Senior Citizen Programs and in 1971 and 1976 was recognized as Biloxi's Senior Citizen of the year. She also aided the Harrison County March of Dimes Drives and was also an active member of the Back Bay Fireman's Auxiliary. Mrs. Fountain was an avid participant in Biloxi parades and Mardi Gras festivities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mackie Fountain of Biloxi; her mother and father, Rosa and Henry David of Biloxi; four brothers, Cleveland "Tut," Oscar, Delano and Gussie David, all of Biloxi; and two sisters, Sophie David and Gertrude Eliott of Biloxi.
Survivors include a brother, "Tony" Germain David of Biloxi; and two sisters, Henrietta Szetela of Biloxi and Annie Weber of Colorado Springs, Bradford St. and Lameuse, where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

Effie Elizabeth Kitchin
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Effie Elizabeth Smith Kitchin, 79, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her home in Ocean Springs after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leon S. Kitchin.
Effie Kitchin was born January 26, 1921, to Helene Love and G.W. "Billy" Smith in Lambert, MS. She grew up in Green wood, MS, and graduated from Green wood High School. She married in 1939 and worked at the Martha Geeslin School of Dancing for over 30 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a volunteer at Green wood Leflore Hospital.
Mrs. Kitchin was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Green wood where her husband was ordained a deacon in 1979 and served as deacon until his death in 1998. She then moved to Ocean Springs to join her son at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in 1998.
She is survived by her children: three daughters, Leona K. Webb of Richmond, VA, Helene K. Cohen of Lee's Summit, MO, Peggy Kitchin of Jackson, MS; three sons, Father George R. Kitchin, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton parish in Ocean Springs, MS, Robert W. Kitchin, Ph.D., of Bolivar, MO, and John F. Kitchin, Ph.D., of Shrewsbury, MA; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church tonight, April 2, following the 6:30 p.m. Mass with Rosary at 8 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, April 3, at 11 a.m. Father George Kitchin will be the celebrant.
The family prefers that memorials be made to Pax Christi, 2108 Alta Colo., Jewell Frigo of New Orleans and Sally Rouse of Wiggins; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday at Holder-Wells Funeral Home. A service will be at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. There will be a reception for family and friends in the Garden Room at LaFont Inn immediately following the service.
Infant Robinson
BILOXI - Infant Robinson, infant child of Johnny and Cheryl Robinson of Biloxi, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Biloxi.
Infant Robinson was sent from the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi to London, Ky., for burial.
