Grace M. Smith
Funeral: Graveside at 3 p.m. Monday in Biloxi City Cemetery.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Grace M. Smith, 89, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Smith was born in Garden Grove, Mississippi State Highway Patrol and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Picayune.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margot Jean Clay.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Toler Bilbo; a daughter, Diana Jo Bilbo; a sister, Edna Hobson, all of Picayune; and a grandson.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Monday in the New Palestine Cemetery, Picayune.
The family prefers memorials to one's favorite charity.
Everett George Bostic
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Riemann Funeral Home Chapel, 25th Avenue, Gulfport.
LONG BEACH - Everett George Bostic, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Bostic was born in Ralston, Texas; Velma Smith, of Belen, New Mexico; Mary Sanders of Sacramento, Texas, died of Congestive Heart Failure on February 26, 2000 at 1:15 A.M. in Gulfport Memorial Hospital. Maria recently moved to Gulfport, Michigan in 1945 in Salerno, Italy. They were married until Sam died in 1989.
Maria is survived by: her only child, Anna Maria Gasbarro Sukmann, owner of Antonian hair-skin-nails; her son-in-law, Jack Sukmann, Director of Finance of Casino Magic Biloxi; granddaughter, Angela Marie Sukmann Heise, Nail tec at Antonian/Art teacher at St. Martin Middle School; granddaughter, Mary Teresa Sukmann, Nail tec/Esthetician at Antonian/student at William Carey College; grandson, John Thomas Sukmann, jr., student at William Carey College; granddaughter, Ann Marie Sukmann, student at St. John High School; grandson-in-law, Michael D. Heise, Security Supervisor Broadwater Resort; great grandson, Michael D. Heise III; brother, Carmen Pastore, in Italy; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In her early adulthood, Maria belonged to the St. Vincent De Paul, Sisters of Charity Order; after leaving the order, Maria continued her education and earned a Masters/R.N. Because she was so creative with her hands, she later became a successful fine sewing seamstress. Although, her most important accomplishment was her dedication as a wife and mother.
Maria was spirited and independent; she was never afraid to tell you what she wanted or what she thought. Her spunk, laughter, and delightful Italian accent will be missed. If you met her you would never forget her!
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport. A scripture service will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The funeral mass will be at 9:30 Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi, where friends may visit 30 minutes before the mass. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Mavis Hudson
BAY ST. LOUIS - Mavis Hudson, 89, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Her body was sent from the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis to the Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg for services and burial.
Carl Jones
Funeral: 2 p.m. today in the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Carl "C.E." Jones, 64, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was owner and operator of Jones Floor Covering in Ocean Springs. He was a 32 Degree Mason and former coach and President of St. Martin Dixie Youth Baseball League. He was retired from the N.Y.; a daughter, Deborah Jean Ladner Ward of Bay St. Louis; three brothers, Marvin Ladner, Milton Ladner and Herman Ladner, all of Bay St. Louis; four sisters, Gloria L. Dussan, Shirley L. Welch and Linda L. Cool, all of Bay St. Louis, and Kathy L. Warren of Pass Christian; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday with Rosary at 8 p.m. at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday for an 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis. Burial will follow at Bayou LaCroix Cemetery in Hancock County.
